the ZX(79-83) all use a gear reduction starter, smaller. lighter, lower current draw, and bolts right up to All of the L series engines! Not sure about 78, but all of the s30 series I have ever had(never had a '78) used a standard starter. Will

  3. For the glass, I have used the Eastwood product for years, you mix it to a thin paste, soak the felt polishing pad for several hours in water, and keep it moving and wet. It will take out scratches that will just bearly catch a freshly cut fingernail, and while it is a material made for lense polishing, it is not terribly aggressive when the directions are followed. I have ground my own lenses for a highschool science project, and that did give me a great deal of experience for what not to do in this instance, but the istructions, though brief, are on the money. 4. I use Mothers Plastic Polish, from Pepboys-they have one of the best selections of chemicals here locally, from Lexol products on... The only reason I go there-they advertise a huge selection of parts-but nothing for the Z-other than chemicals. Will

I have found shopping the parts and including shipping charges to be the best way to figure out value. On somethings, VB is much higher than MSA, on others, the reverse is true, on other parts, buying them direct from the manufacturer(when you know who it is) is the best value. I have ordered from both MSA and VB and been pleased with the results. Will
  6. I anxiously await your findings! Will
  7. BTW, FWIW, OTW SF On The Way! BTE? WIT, WTF? Will

  10. Ed, and engine costs more than $.02, and your advice could easliy save an engine! BTW, I have pulled the gas filler plate for you. Will
  11. Dan, These guys are right on your money. The seller is trying to give a very good idea of what the condition of the car is, and it is in need of a good deal of work to be a treasured car. All of the work can be done, but if you don't have the skills and tools, you will have to pay someone else to do it, and the expense and time frame fromthat will vey quickly turn a passionate feeling for a car into a frustrating and bad time. I would keep looking, that car is actually worse than a 2+2 I bought out junk yard last week for $250 . They are out there, use the internet, the Auto Trader type magazines, and the friends you make at clubs like this one to find a good car that is the condition you can work and LIVE with. You will be happier, your driving experience will be more fun, and you will keep and enjoy the car for a long time. Will
  12. Put me down for one as well. Ditto to what Mike W said. Will

He is really after Budget and the schoolboard, you, your brother, and the janitor probably cant scrape enough net worth together to convince his laywer that he would get paid for his time.. If the facts of the case come out, the judge will see that Kevin went to grab it of his own free will, and was not coerced, pressured, or made to by anyone but himself. His decisions led him to split the rental fee, and to take responsability and liability for helping(He agreed to lend the van, and a hand if you paid him). He provided and accepted the van by entering into a rental agreement with Hertz and leaving the lot with it.. If neither the van or the wheel of the engine stand were defective, or in a state of dissrepair. all parties other than he provided an adequet level of care. If this happened as restated here, in Georgia, I would say that Kevin would be paying court costs and the collective plantifs legal costs for a good while, and that his lawyer would probably be publically repremanded in the court record for presenting a trivial case and wasting the courts, the plantifs, and the jurrys time. But then we have Judges who will eat a roach to protect CocaCola from the stupid crap some lawyers lawyers will try when going after a big fish. Will

Ya know, as I look ait again, it is white, right? All sirens are gray right? Isn't that that that piece the guy was selling of ebay that makes the car faster than the Millenium Faulken by creating a bubble in which selected laws of physics are changed? It is supposerd to make drag from moving through the air negligeable, allign all of the ions gasoline, make lubricant slicker than snot(blow your nose before you go for a drive)and increase the gravitational pull on the car to give it the ability to do a 6g turn, accellereation, and stop, and get 67 mpg doing it. If you used the "buy it now" he wired in a siren function as a disguise for free(normally a $12,000 option)! Wow! I hope he lists another one.... Of course it only works for one turn, and I bet the owner of this car already tried it out, so I guess, at this point, it is just a siren. Will

That is a electric horn for the alarm system-not a factory part! Will
  19. Update! MSA did give me a Z car club discount discount-even though it was not indicated on the invoice, it was reflected in the prices. They are sending me a Wheel seal at no charg! Doesn't look like being goofy is what they want to be known for, and Great Customer Service is. I can tell more about a committment to great customer service after a goof up than I can if there isn't one. What a great recovery! Will

When you get behind the wheel of a Z in a good state of repair, you will know that it drives like another Z, it is tight, accellerates readily, and the smile starts with the first blip of the pedal, and ends only with regret! If your Z reminds you of another car, you have some work to do because something is not right. Wax on, wax off Danielson! Will
  21. Looks like an OEM part with nipples added. Problems that come to mind: 1)The supply tube does not have enough volume to feed all of those injectors throughout the powerband-talk about pressure drop! 2)The stock ECM does not have enough current to drive double its designed for load, Good idea, but unless you can take care of the problems, and have a turbo or supercharged system it will fit on, you would probably put it back at auction after playing with it. 22. I just recieved this, and thought I would pass it along to everyone, here are instiuctions form Rock Auto Oarts on how to get a Discount-most of their prices seem low to begin with(Beck Arney 300ZX rotors about 30% below our local parts houses-ieven with shipping all on the same part number! Some things are higher A-1 remanufactiured 1982 Distributor at $219(before shipping) vs 189 from Avvance for the same part number) but shop around, even with the discount. Here is the email I recieved from them: "Dear RockAuto Customer, Thank you for being a www.RockAuto.com customer. Here's how it works: - You give this discount code: 142220147963 to friends, neighbors, relatives, the guy at the corner garage--anyone you know who works on cars or trucks. - When someone (Including yourself) places an order at www.rockauto.com and enters your discount code in the "How did you hear about us" line of the shopping cart, he or she will receive an immediate 5% discount on that order. - The discount code expires on November 30, 2004; so don't wait! **Each month we see people who put the word "discount" in front of their code and do not get the discount.
