Have you tried the obvious-filling the opposite side of the existing plenum to force the air to the drivers side? If you paint or cover the obstruction with black material, you will still have all of the stock components in your car, the vintage look, and the answer to your problem(limiting the path of the air will increase its velocity and impose a specific direction(if filled purposefully), and unless I misunderstood, that is what you are after... Just a thought, Will
  2. I believe Stephen is right on it, sounds like junk in the tank... There is a copy of the EFI manual in the archives, if you can't find it, PM me an email address, and in the next day or two I'll send it to you. Will
  3. Doradox, The pretending and deliberate misleading is the issue. The value of the keys is just a small part of it. Will
  4. Looks pretty silly to me to advertise NOS OEM parts at an obscene premium to a market that is all about modifications...but, I guess when you completely alienate the primary market for your investment... As pointed out earlier, Fortunately an original key blank is a want a not a need, the cars will run without them, and anyone into the cars will identify the keys made from these blanks as non original replacements anyway. So waiting for a better price, or an indistinguishable reproduction that comes cut (not ground) and stamped with original Nissan tooling at a 1/3rd the price should just about kill the marketability of those anyway-better sell them quick! Having something isn't nearly as important as having a market for it... Will

I can't wait to see more of this car! WIll
  6. To some this is a market, not a club, to some it is a club and a market, and to some it is only a club-there is plenty of room for all three kinds-as long as they don't pretend to be any kind other than what they are... It is the pretending that that ticks people off. Selling something to a friend isn't wrong, But giving the friend the question "How much would you give me for it?" is certainly more out in the open than what has gone on in this thread... Friends don't take advantage of friends... Will
  7. What Kind of Carshows do you really enjoy In waht capacity Note any cool events you experienced... Put anything that adds to the car show experience! Bikini contest, vendor displays, etc... Will
  8. Cold for the beach is warm for the mountains... Jacksonville Fl average March Temps High 73 Low 50 Asheville NC average March Temps High 58 Low 36 73 degree day at the beach...sounds pretty appealing to me! Granted, Saturday and night last year were COLD, but Sunday was very comfortable from 10 am until about 6 pm Will
  9. I didn't want to be as obvious...
  10. And Now for something completely different! If you like the beach or camping. or both, you are in the center of more coastal parks than you can shake a stick at! The Temperature averages 73 during the day. Peek at the addresses-all seriously close by, all but one right down the street! My family camps out at Huguenot at least once a year. They have RV and tent sites(with fire rings), restrooms inside and outside showers(inside access limited to registered guests). Legal beach driving, an on site store, an on site cafe/bistro, and there is a ferry($8) to cross the St. Johns a mile or so down the road for quicker access to Jacksonville than driving down Hecksher alone will allow! Amelia Island State Park 12157 Heckscher Drive Jacksonville, FL 32226 904-251-2320 Big Talbot Island State Park 12157 Heckscher Drive Jacksonville, FL 32226 (904) 251-2320 Fort George Island Cultural State Park 12157 Heckscher Drive Jacksonville, FL 32226 (904) 251-2320 Little Talbot Island State Park 12157 Heckscher Drive Jacksonville, FL 32226 904-251-2320 Fort Clinch State Park 2601 Atlantic Avenue Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 904-277-7274 Huguenot Memorial Park 10980 Hecksher Drive Jacksonville, FL 32226 (904) 251-3335 Will
  11. First Family iinteresting place! Jacksonville Zoological Gardens http://www.jaxzoo.org/ (904)757-4462 370 Zoo Pkwy Jacksonville, FL 32218 9am-5pm 363 days a year(some attractions within don't open until 10am) Combination Tickets (includes Train Ride) Adult: $14.50 Child (3-12): $8.50 Children 2 and under, free Add $3.00 for stingray bay-it's worth it! Feeding the stingrays ads $1 My family and I drive down twice a year to visit "The Jacksonville Zoo" it is a great place for Kids and adults, and is stroller(renals available on-site) friendly! There is a stroller friendly train(with a tour guide to point out highlights) that circles the park all day long, and you can ride as often and long as you want. There are tons of animals, you can pay to feed Zebras, stingrays (reasonable, but sometimes a long line), and the animals in a kiddy petting zoo. The staff makes a presentation out of feeding several large Aligators ,and the sharks! Everywhere you or your children can feed/pet animals there is a large handwashing station! Children have several areas that can go and just play! Gerbil maze-just what it sounds like a giant series of plastic tunnels for the kids to run through-and believe me they do! In the Play area of the park: There is a Splash Ground-be sure to bring a bathing suit for the Kids! "Swimmies" can be bought on site. There is a Tree House(seriously up in the air) playground with rope/net bridges, two story slides, and lots of "secret areas" to explore. A Garden Maze-just for kids-they go in one area and meet you at the other end. All of the Childrens areas are set up so an adult can participate as well-and it is fun to get in with them! We spend 5 to 7 hours at the Zoo each time we go-and usually don't see it all-the boys get tired. There are several places to eat within the park, ranging from outdoor stands to fast food type dining-eat early-the lines get looooong for the climate controlled restaurants-in March that should not be an issue, it will not be hot-nor will it be cold(maybe in the early morning hours). We have taken children from 6 months old to 14 years old, and all of them have had a great time. If you have kids in your mix, this is the best, longest, and most memorable(make sure you have a change of clothes for the splash area) venue that we have taken our boys to in the Jacksonville area. Will PS I forgot to mention the Zoo is on Heckscher Road-a road that goes all the way to Amelia Island. Three turns and you are there-Granted it is a good stretch of road(around 30 miles) between , but...turn left out of the Ritz Carleton, turn left on to Heckscher-go about 30 miles(well signed-even though you will think you are lost) and turn left onto Zoo Parkway, and you are at the Zoo! 12. This thread is to help you figure out your plans to come to Amelia Island over the weekend of March 13-15, 2009. The Car Show will be held on that Sunday, and the initial point of this thread is to address what to do with all of the significant others that come with you with short automotive attention span, and to give current and historic details about the show. First, When and Where is the cars how? Ritz-Carlton-Amelia Island Golf course on Sunday March 15 2009 4750 Amelia Island Pkwy Fernandina Beach, FL 32034 Website (904) 277-1100 Here are several images from mapquest to save me thousands of words! I will be labeling these maps with locations suitable to seriously entertain family and friends while you come see Carl, his car and the rest of the wheeled rarities at the show.

Our Local Dealer, Victory Motors (a Datsun dealer since at least 1967), didn't receive its first shipment of 240Zs until April/May of 1970, proven by the absence of advertising for them in the news paper, and confirmed by the dealership mechanic, I am hunting the first 240Z ad in my local paper. to see when the first batch of Zs was atleast scheduled to hit the dealership...this probably should start a new thread. Will
  14. Victor, I figured your last Iron Bottom run shook something important loose! That, or you got some bad(or maybe waaaay too much-if there is such a thing) imported beer! Anyway, glad to see you were able to get the right wrench from ebay to tighten what ever it was that shook loose. Can't attach a wave file-so here, sing this aloud so who ever is close enough to hear will catch a nostalgic moment if they are old enough, if they aren't old enough, well, they probably already excuse some of your behaviors anyway, what's one more! Welcome back, Your wheel collection was your ticket out, Welcome back it's the same old place that you laughed about, some of the names have changed since you hung around, But those cars have remained then they've turned around, Who'd of thought they'd needja Who'd of thought they'd needja Back here where we needja Back here where we needja Yea we tease him a lot cause we've got him on the spot, Welcome back Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back, Welcome Back, WELCOME BACK!! Will
  15. A set of 7 or so just sold for about $60 on ebay-I midded the auction, or the pice would have been higher-quite possibly significantly! and a die would have been made-it still will be, just not as soon. Will
  16. Ron, I am with you vacation should have a few scheduled things, but no imposing plan with serious time management needed! I'll get together some area info, and post it to a new thread to help everyone make plans(including keeping children pleasantly occupied), Tickets to view will be in the $40/$50 range(discount for advance purchase-there will be an online store), and displaying a car in this show is by invitation only. Will
  17. Chris, I took a very close friend(see the Z theft protection thread) with me, (he is absolutley not a car guy), and he jumped in line as soon as they started putting the tables together, and did not budge for three hours. When I got out of the "Legends" talk, I was #37 behind him, and I bee-lined it! There were something like 350 people waiting for autographs-The Nazis were risking bodily harm trying to enforce their buy a poster for an autograph-but only on the poster. That was a great weekend, Clif and I camped on the Park(a required part of securing the permits) where the photos of Carl's were taken. The wind was pretty healthy during the day, but after eating dinner with everyone who came to the photoshoot, Clif(my buddy) and I drove back to the park and put up my family sized tent in 28 degree weather, 40mph winds at something like 1:30am. Suprisingly it was all great fun as it was happening but then I enjoy camping. It was almost too cold to sleep, so We got up at 5am to S,S, and S and then we headed to breakfast and then to the car show. I took over 700 pictures, and really had a great time! Will

E, It's late here in Georgia, what's your excuse? Will
  19. I wiill collect and post the info on next years show as it becomes available-the website is in the process of being updates, and has a haphazard mix of last years info and this years intentions on it right now-so I won't share its info yet. Here is a photo of the first poster signed at the Legends of the Trans-Am group talk given last year. It was the first poster through the autograph line. I followed it about thirty five signatures later with my ZCCA commerative poster to get Peter Brock and John Morton to autograph it. The Autograph Nazis were out in full force trying to assure that nothing but the $20 poster they were selling at the front of the autograph station got signed, but those signing Autographs were not on board with that restriction...so if you got past the profiteers your stuf got signed! PS the Mugs are from Bre2.net http://www.bre2.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=B&Category_Code=funstuff
  20. Here are a few more pics...for those of you that need a little more of what you missed, or more persuasion not to miss next year! Will
  21. This is a reminder to get out your calendars and plan to come to hte Amelia Island Concourse de Elegance the weekend of March 13-15, 2009. Carl Beck was invited to show his beautiful Rally Car in the show, and as it will be the first Z in a show of this caliber(many owners who displayed in this years Concourse and Pebble Beach commented that they were much more impressed with the Amelia Island Concourse, and were very Vocal about it!). Having both a beautifully restored and historic Z, and such a Knowledgeable owner as the Z ambassador in the show is a huge boon to the Z hobby! It would be too cool to line the island parkway with some beautiful S30s ti show off our cars and support Carl! The show is on Sunday, and to park on the causeway we will have to be in place at 0-dark-thirty that morning! I am hoping many of you will plan to come, and we can set up a "Meet and greet" close by(Jacksonville, Fernandina, St. Marys, St. Simmons/Brunswick...) I know where we can drive our cars on the beach legally! Let me know if you can work in a visit, and I will see what I can organize to do! Will

  23. You are not an idiot, you suffer from a disease most of us have, but never admit to, the "Aw-sh!ts"! Pulling and Buying the wrong part is done because of the same enthusiasm that makes many of us with a low digestive tolerance of spicy food devour it so enthusiastically! I can't count the number of times I have gone to the pick and pull to get something only to get home and find what I bought and what I wanted were two different things...It isn't the pulling and paying for the part that does it, it is the getting home ready to clean up and install the newly found treasure! The moment you realize what you covetted, so carefully removed and were so thrilled to find so cheep is not what you were after... That is when you get the "aw-sh!t"s. I haven't found a cure yet, but taking the instructions that told me of the part I went to find and how to use it(sometimes the hardware specified in the instructions), does cut down the number of "extra" ebay auctions I list...course, sometimes those "extra" auctions have paid for new Z parts that were in "the upgrade list", but out of the budget. Will
  24. I think the wheels look good, but they are not dot approved, and are clearly stamped "for competition use only". Add to that at the $1000 a rim price you can have a set machined to your specifications at several places, in several widths, and it becomes a much more difficult to justify purchase. Vintage wheels are getting more expensive than it would cost to reproduce them in single set quantity and considering most of the originals were not DOT approved, have seen 20 to 30 years of fatiguing use, I cant' understand why someone would pay that much and then restore them! Buying them at a bargain I understand completly!! Will
