Looks very good! I am considering something similar... Will
  2. With a more conventional set of headlights, better looking wheels, and a sharper front bumper end(or the visual effect there of) that would be a nice looking car. making the headlight covers look windswept should be a removable decal, and the covers should be tailored to fit the lights. Will
  3. Scheduling last year was a breeze, this year is just an offensive exercise in getting past that damn Murphy... I am still planning to go, and if everything falls into place by the end of next week, I will be signing up and planning the route for the truck and trailer. Will
  4. Two of the things that makes this such a vital and living club are the diversity and the passion of its membership. It stands to reason that the two strongest forces in any club will sometimes go at it, this is one of those times-and most of you can count the others, and name the persons(multiple personalities) involved. This may be somewhat bothersome, but it is healthy as long as everyone remembers what they have invested in the club and what they get out. I know I get far more diamonds out that I put in, and I have had a couple of issues with several members, and even warnings from Mike early on. Surprisingly the first and most serious issue I had was with a member who I now talk to on the phone regularly. We found a common ground, and guess what, it was Z cars! Our friendship grew from there-here. He sent me something yesterday I found hilarious, and very pertinent to this thread. It is easy to disagree with someone, it is easy to insult someone, it is easy to look childish. It takes years on a difficult road to be an adult, sometimes all of us need figure out we took a wrong turn... Any girl with a Z, and interest in it belongs here. Will

When you think about it, almost none debates personal preference...they just deside what they like and go with it...though some people do attempt to justify it. I hardly ever vote on my own polls until late in their posting-even though I know my own answers before posting a poll-btw, this poll has several older relations in the front page polls forum... Will
  7. Kats, I am with Carl on this one with one slight change... Savannah is 4 hours from Atlanta...so let me know when you are headed that way! Cut over to A1A (the coastal Highway) in Fla, and take it part of the way, the water changes color very abruptly with proximity to the gulfstream. If you are in Florida and traveling and everything is just right, it is something to see the line meandering right off the beach. I have seen it twice-purely from the size and clear division between brown water and clear emerald green this should be one of the wonders of the world!! Will

Ejji at Datsun Spirit sells them from time to time-and clearly advertises them as repro. I am still after making them available, and with the help of another member, do aim to get that accomplished-onny with a beter fit and better seals. Will
  11. So since we know the volume and valve timing of the pulses, and the velocity of exploding gasoline, we could fairly easily compute the proper diameter for a straight exhaust...not that bends, losses to transitions, and god fobid the resistance of a turbocharger... Will

I thought so! Here are three picks of the poster... The last two I took as a surprise for the stranger asking Mr. Morton for his autograph(sometime after having Mr. Brock sign it)-and then I misplaced his contact info(on a scrap of paper). If I had been able to get that poster signed I would have been thrilled to get a picture of it happening...so I thought I woould do something nice for a fellow Z fan If any of you recognize him, please pm me his info, I have 8mp versions of those last two shots for him!

Mike/Chris I believe I took a picture of that very poster being signed by John Morton at Amelia Island-not for me, unfortunately, but I'll give a look and post if it is so... Will
  14. The only issues I have found with FSMs have been addressed with either technical Bulletins, and/or Chassis Supplements... WIll

When you find a car that looks like something you are crazy to have, what should it take to prove that it is what it appears to be. If a PO says it is the most perfect '71 low mileage 240Z there is, what will prove it so? If the lowest vin brought to the USA turns up on ebay(the current owner "isn't a Z nut and has no knowledge of what he has-I am sure we can find one of those...hasn't moved the title since he bought it from the original owner six weeks ago) how do we prove it is what he says it is.. The issue with 153, how do we prove the cars real original scarabs or not? Pick as many as you want, and add what ever you think!

As usual Carl is dead on. What you believe and what can be proven should always be the same, when in doubt proof prevails. One of the data plates clearly looks stamped, and the other one is clearly rotary etched...the rivets are different between the two as well-I think an examination of a few cars before and after would show similarities between one of the two. Most of the Scarab parts on both cars could have come from a genuine wreck, or clearanced inventory. No original paperwork no proof. Anyone can dress a "72 240Z as a '70, and change data plates, wipe and redo the firewall stamping-not that the current owner would have done that, but POs have been known to do worse...even altering paperwork... 18. If your car is properly tagged, titled, and insurred, there are two possible answers: 1) the sherrif was called before the car was moved and put a note on it thinking it had not moved. 2) You are still parked somewhere the HOA or local ordinance says you can't park. The solution is to get a set of the HOA rules and verify that your car and its chosen parking space comply with them, and to get a set of the local ordinances and comply with them as well. If you can A) verify that you are in compliance with both the published HOA rules and the established ordinances, and document all continuing grief, you can file harassment charges against anyone that continues to give you grief-not that I would-just let the offending person know you could. Frequently the possibility of legal action will settle down a HOA member gone wild-if not file both harassment charges and a Peace bond. Nothing upsets a neighbor like no being able to walk/drive down a sidewalk/road to see what they feel is wrong enough to fight over. The peace bond(maybe called something different/work differently in your neck of the woods) will keep that nosey nuisance 500 feet away from your property and you-as long as you do not approach them. It will seriously wizz someone off, so be sure you have no other issues that violate the HOA rules or the local ordinances-otherwise you only changed the target, and they will come back... Ask the owner of the Pickup what he did to stay in the clear...if he doesn't know that means you are being singled out, and that is another issue all together... BTW, depending on your age an agreeable adult may have to be the one to file on your behalf. Will

  24. A picture is worth more than I car to type! At lunch I'll take a run over to my storage place, and pull, picture, and post an early solid Quarter window 240Z emblem-though I think it would be great to have all of the S30 emblems pictured in one thread-I'll round up all of mine and start a new thread(so as not to hijack this one)-unless a search of the archives shows we already have one...
