  1. Drop by and say hi! I use to have a cobra, was all hooked up with the cobra folks. I was considering getting another one, but I came across this, so now I need to get hooked up with the z folks.
  2. I think I used brake fluid, I used what was recommended on this site.
  3. I adjusted the valves prior to starting the car. I put transmission fluid in the cylinders prior to starting. It sat for quite a few days prior to draining the fluids and refilling. New plugs, but I haven't set the timing. I did put a light on it yesterday, but I'm not sure what to do next. It's been a few years since I've done this type of stuff. I've probably ran the car for close to two hours. No driving, i'be backed it in and out of the garage a few times. I think the transmission is slipping. I have to rev it a little for the car to start to move.
  4. After I got the carbs on and used the carb synchronizer tool, when I lifted the piston in the front carb, the engine would almost immediately die. When performing the same thing on the rear carb, it wouldn’t kill the engine as quickly, does this provide any valuable information?
  5. I’m not familiar with this type of a problem. I was thinking it’s a big deal. Based on your comments I’m not so worried. I’ll clean up the oil pan reinstall and move up to the top to look for missing parts. ?
  6. My goal was to be driving this thing within the week. Kind of bummed right now.
  7. Good point. I can check to see if all the lash pads are in place.
  8. haha, that's it.
  9. Am I looking at a rebuild? Any recommendations in Northern California ?
  10. Are you sure that's a lash pad?
  11. I had a magnet in the oil pan. That spring thing from the seal, and that other piece are all it picked up.
  12. The sludge in the bottom of my oil pan has a silver tint to it, is this an indicator of anything I should be concerned with ?
  13. This was also found in my oil pan. Looks like one of the seals?
  14. Any ideas what this little gem is. It's made of steel, and was found in my oil pan?
  15. It's not in that manual.
  16. I don’t know why I didn’t notice this during disassembly, but my front right caliper has lick washers on it and the left do not. Should I install lock washers on the front left?
  17. Where is the best place to get torque specs? I’m installing my front brake calipers?
  18. No ideas on this?
  19. I need a windshield washer fluid container. I've learned that OEM doesn't necessarily mean the same as original. I want an original container, any ideas where I can get one? and how can I be sure it's original?
  20. I'll get back to this later when I work it out what I want to do.
  21. I ordered a master cylinder (OEM) to replace mine. When I got it, it was a little different than my original, but still OEM. I'm learning some things here. I decided to rebuild my original MC. Here's what I found. Where the MC is inserted into the booster, the end is corroded. You can see in the picture. is this still usable? Also, I can't get the large nut off where the brake lines are attached to the MC. A free stream of air goes through, but I still get the feeling they should come off? Thanks. Allen
  22. I'll take one for my car.
  23. How much are your decals? The data tag is missing!
  24. The car has been registered as a 71 and a 70. It's currently registered as a 70. The vin is hls30-08987. The titles I have show that years ago it was titled as a 71. I was thinking the guy that owned it before me wanted it to be a 70 so he did something to change the title. I don't know if there is a definitive way to know what year it it? if there is i'd like to know so I can keep things as original as possible.
  25. Dan, yes, I'd love to get the decal. Good work .
