I'll be pulling the engine, so I guess this will be my problem to deal with? Sounds to me like the best option is to buy OEM, which will eliminate all issues, and I won't have to modify anything? Correct ?

Found 2 240Z's
I’m working on getting a 73 that has been stored for 30 years. This all started a year ago when I found my 70 s1. The one that has been stored for 30 should stay original. I want to trick out one of them. Looking original but all modern stuff. I don’t want to trick out something that can easily be restored to original. I want to rent up with 2. Local engine builder
I found a capable local guy that should have no problem rebuilding my 70 series one engine. Is there anything I can provide him that will assist in his success. He said he has no problem getting parts, and building the engine, but I'd appriciate any information that might be useful. I've already got a document that has links to everything Z related. I probably got that here.

Exhaust smoke
How can I tell if exhaust smoke is due to the carburetors or if it’s rings or something else? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Found 2 240Z's
Ok, I got both of them for $8500. That depends on the cars since I haven’t yet seen them in person. The red car is missing the front seats. The seats were out being stored in a shop. The shop burned down, so insurance will cover for new seats. He asked me to find a couple seats and he will buy them. Any ideas where I can get a couple seats.

Found 2 240Z's
I found 2 240z's. They were found by a friend, he took the pictures. I haven't been up to see them, but he checked for rust, and according to him there is some surface rust, nothing that goes through. The owner told him they are both 73's. The picture of the emissions tag has a 1972 date on it, so one or both may be different than 72. The owner said he drove both of them to where they are parked. He had the seat out of the red one, and they caught on fire, so he has an insurance claim. I told him I'd look for a couple seats online so he can complete his claim. I told my friend that I'd offer the guy $6500 for both of them, and I'd check online to see how close I am with my offer. In the next couple of days, he will check the vin/engine numbers to see if they match. I may take a ride myself to go look at them.

240 series 1 su bowls
It's running great. The brakes are a little squishy. But it runs like a top.

240 series 1 su bowls
After I got my series 1 running, I took it to a guy to have him look it over. I was told he know's Z's. One problem he found was that I had put the bowls on the wrong carbs. Does this make sense?

I've been looking for a project
Almost everything I've ordered for this car that says fits 240z never fits perfectly. The master cylinder was backwards, that was a pain for awhile. I want to smooth out the ride of this and keep as much as original as possible. What's the best way to do this keeping it original? I went for a ride today on a road that had a lot of patches and it was rough, if felt like there were no shocks.

I've been looking for a project
I've been driving and just enjoying the 70z. I found another z in a garage. This one has been sitting for over 30 years and appears to be in great shape. Something I haven't done to the 70 z is any suspension work. I think it would be a good idea to check out he bearings and running gear. I don't want the car to be down long, so I'm looking for advise on how to start this and what I can do that will not keep the car down for long. I don't want to do any work twice, I'd rather have it down longer and complete any logical work to be done at the same time. Front first? Back first? Is there anything that might be too difficult for my skills. So far I've been able to do everything to get this car on the road. It sat for 15 years, and it required a lot of work.

Considering complete restore 1970 240z
I'm creating a matrix/spreadsheet that I'll use to rebuild the 70 240z. I'd like to outline everything that can be done that I'd be able to use to get bids for portions I don't want to do, and track the things I want to do. I can see it being use for a full rebuild being done by myself, or getting bids from others. Any ideas?

Thank you. I’m all over that thread. The seats in that thread don’t have the webbing like mine. The rest of the thread dies apply. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
