Willowsprings in Rosamond Calif. We will be having our first Weekend Event September 9th & 10th at Willow Springs on the 2.5 mile road course. This event will be run in the same fashion as all previous events. We will have three run groups, beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each run group will get (5) 30 minute run sessions totaling 2 1/2 hours of track time. We might have a wheel to wheel race at the end of both days if we have enough people to participate. When you register please indicate if you would like to participate in the race, for all participants in the race there will be an extra fee to cover the race insurance (this will be a minimal charge). The cost for both days will be $350, or $185 for one day. If at all possible please sign up for both days, and please sign up early! For all newbies or people who want to attend, we will have classroom instruction followed by on-track instruction. As always, all paid participants will get an all you can eat BBQ lunch and an OPEN TRACK RACING shirt Please remember that all OTR events are open to all that want to attend, so please tell a friend! You can sign up at www.opentrackracing.com . Did I mention we need people to sign up early! Thanks, and See You at the Track! -
New to the forum from Lompoc, CA
Mark, though you loose a little seat time, but you can gain it back in her agreeing to new parts, hoods, paint, tires and more events if you get her behind the wheel! Worked for me.

What year Zcar do you own?
Hmmm, I didn't know you had a Street Z, only the race car, so how is it, you take it out often? Like to see pics if you have any. Craig

You got the crank trigger working for ya? Looks clean, is this a recent photo since you had the work done that I was reading about? Cheers, Craig

Axel Stubs / half shafts
Dropkick, Here some interesting stub axle info. Thought I'd pass it on. Good Luck, Craig http://www.magshooterz.com/280z_stub_axle_swap.htm http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/rearwheelbearings/index.html R&R-ing stub axles can develop some interesting 4 letter words.

Interesting Videos (youtube.com)
Yo Ron, Very cool, maybe next year I'll have to give your group a try. If you have any more video cuts send them our way, we have FIOS (fiber optic internet) so down load is a blink! Do you have the finish of the race I was reading about on WCZR? oh hey, OTR will have their first 2 day weekend event instead of on a Wed. Sept. 9th & 10th, which will include a race on both days too. We'll be there. Z-ya. Craig

OTR 9/21/05 Balcony
Nope, all 4 tires are Toyo Proxes RA1s, 225-50R-14, Directional, tread blocks shaved to approx. 3/32". This is our 3rd set. They last about 1 yr. or 2 people driving 8 events each. Great working tire. Looking at trying the Kumho 710s this fall. Little softer, no tread, looks like a slick. Thanks for the good words. Cheers, Craig

camshafts
Here is an example of what a cam I.D. could look like on the end of the shaft. I used a mirror and a camera to get this shot and then printed it in reverse image to make reading easier. Little tricky but possible. Find out what you have as a place to start from.

Check Out My New Intakes!!
We were suprised with the dyno results and will probably make another run on the same dyno sometime this summer again. But the intakes are not polished smooth and shiney. They have the slight sanding striations in the metal, so I would say it is more of a rough finish and not polished.

Check Out My New Intakes!!
Hey the "Mad Grinder Guy" did mine too. They were good for 10HP on my before and after dyno results, at mid to upper range of the pull. I think the guy is prepairing another set of intakes now? You bet he is for hire... right Marty...

Off to Paint!!!
Pretty close match, but I think your paint is a hundred times better. I like the stripes too. Very nice job. We just have the fiberglass hood painted 2 weeks ago. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e98/Chino240Z/HoodPainted.jpg

Header/Intake Clearance Problem
Marty, maybe you could do both options, maybe more of the grinding option and little of the denting option. Seen it done many times, and it no one will ever know ... except us. just grind some little at a time till it clears. Hate to see ya change out those intakes. I doubt you'll effect any performance with a little dent, and you might not crack the coating? Hey, don't forget to double check the torque on the those exhaust nuts. Couple heat cycles and check em. Then after a track event check em. I finally went with the Stage 8 locking nuts, hoping it stops blown exhaust gaskets!

Pete and I with my Z in the background
Pete, it's either really cold or you're wearing her lipstick! Z's can make a relationship romantic too! Cheers. (you guys are in the way, but are those windows fogged up on the Z

Spark plug info needed
Interesting, it definitely didn't work on the car, as the old one was fine. Since Pertronix is only 10 minutes away, I just stopped in with the bad unit and just didn't want to swap out for another just yet. If the rain lets up I was going outside to pull everything a go back over to Pertronix and go over some other concerns. But, sure email their instructions over, wonder if it is same things as I already have? Thanks Steve! Enigma, sounds like you should be in good shape! Just keep you wire splices or terminations solid and proper, with all grounds clean and tight. I'm sure you'll feel a performance difference once you're all done. Lets us know what you think... Craig
