  1. By the 3rd one you won't need the instruction sheet any more! But then again, guys don't need instructions RIGHT?
  2. Sounds like the perfect day!:classic:
  3. Love to see his collection of real cars & model cars!
  4. Real Screamers on water.
  5. These aren't car modles but they are working RC models. Something that TomoHawk is very good at too!
  6. How about 3D wall paper? We are trying.
  7. These are old pics, now they are pack. . . too many looks cluttered.
  8. There are 2 ways I know of to go blind, and the second way is building models. The steady hands come in once the kids are in bed and Cindy is at work, then I go into my own world of late night building! If I want to do something bad enough I'll figure away to do it. Only 1/4 of the cars are models, but most of the others are the 1:24 diecasts that the whole family has collected of the years. It is Cindys idea to plaster the house with this kind of stuff. I don't mind one bit - never too old to play and have FUN!
  9. Cool Deal Ed! I know what I'm gona do tonight, break open the glue!:cross-eye Nice color Ed.
  10. Oh yea, Zs-ondabrain, we found that Muscle Machines 1/64 green Z and also the white one too at Wall fart. We picked up the nice looking 350Z too. I would have prefered the earlier Zs with out the flaired fenders, but oh well.
  11. Now you guys have gotten me motivated to do the Z soon. Don't want to bore you all, but here's another pic.
  12. Another pic
  13. This is my second time consuming hobby. I love the cars 2Many and Kyteler. Funny thing, I too just picked up a 71-240Z model to put together. I normally do NASCAR stuff, but was going to chop up this model to duplicate our real one in the garage. I have to be in the mood to build because when I start I can't stop! About 80 to 90 hrs. per car. Here are some of the Nascar models sitting around the house.
  14. Would love to go! But we are saving up the pennys to hit a NASA HPDE at Infineon in a few months. We have always wanted to drive that track, so we are getting ready for it. Still getting our act together in the Open Track & HPDE and learning what this car needs, but isn't Vara all racing? We have a friend in VARA that invited us up to the Big Bore Bash at Willow Springs in Nov. and we had a blast with the Vara people. You might know him? Dr. Morty Dunst, he drives a Triumph- Red #25. Is the VARA going to require a "head & neck" restraint device in 2004? What is the scoop on requirements of physicals, membership fees and class fees, 3 layer driving suits, also any discounts for 2 people sharing a car? These are concerns that make or break us from participating a Vara event. Will you be attending the Vara Tech Day at Irwindale raceway coming up? Talk to ya later. Craig
  15. I figured that, shooting Revs and stuff. I remember in High School I was in Dads truck, in front of the school and at about 25 mph threw it in neutral to give a rev., only I went past N and into Reverse and then punched it! After slamming up against the steering wheel and smokin the tires in reverse, I got it back to D and said WTF! was that all about! and just keep going on my way like I knew what I was doing! My first ride was when I bought my first Z, a lowered 72 with dual webers. No test drive (go figure?) but the guy said it wasn't running too good. I could hardly keep it running, so on the freeway I pulled over and looked at the carbs, and he had the fuel of one carb completely shut off, so after a guestimation of opening back up, jumped back in and just blew home with the biggest cheese eating grin on my face, and I was then Z bug bitten!
  16. Yea, then pull into the Trans. shop for a new trans or driveline after pulling that stunt acouple times . . .

My Z is wrapped and it works okay. If I get into removing the headers someday I will use Jet Hot again. The car is not a street car so it doesn't see any water, and the wrap does look bad. I have Jet Hot coated hookers on my Formula Firebird and it works twice as good as the wrapped Z headers. It's amazing how much cooler they are with it! And yep, looks are great. If you email them or call them, they will send ya a short info video. Good Luck Craig
  18. Hey ZHadMan, You're just a stones through away in Ontario. I use to live in Ontario up on Princeton Street. Anyways I know what you mean about your other half. Mine is my best friend. This Z we have now has been something that has brought us closer together. She reminds me that it is not mine but ours. We work on it together, spend money on it together, drive it together and talk about it together. She often works extra days for the money to pay for the racing. Just last night she reminded me to give her the gas cans so she can pick up some racing fuel on the way home from work in the morning. She is an ICU nurse at City of Hopy Hospital. I'm a lucky guy to have a partner that likes cars, racing, and Zs as much as I do. Cheers!

Well it's not a daily driven car. When I do fire it up it is usually at the track and we are always under the hood checking on things and after a run we have it open to cool it off quicker. I have never seen or had gas overflow into it. If I did I would have had a carb problem, then pulled into the pits and delt with it. It mostly is there to catch the gas fumes, oil blow by smoke or vent what ever into it. It has some oily mess in the bottom of it about 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep, I never dump it, doesn't hurt the plastic, just keeps the drips, oily residue in the bottle and not the engine, headers, tires, track or where ever. I guess if the carbs did fill up to the overflow lines they probably wouldn't even run! I have had fuel running out of the carbs because the overflow line was plug or float levels where to high but never into the plastic container.

I think I posted this before. It looks silly but it works. As for the gassy oders, well that's what my garage smells like, and I like it. It's that pre-smog years smell!

So, when was the last time you open the hood since you pulled the rip cord? I agree with giving it an all round tune up and consider the ZTherapy videos with some rebuild kits to get what you have running right. Then take it up a notch and spend the money on some modified SUs, upgraded ignition, headers, rear gears . . . but to just bolt on some new carbs and go? ain't gona run like we would like it to run. I bet you'ld be amazed of how well your car would run with what you got just cleaned up and dialed in before going performance stuff.

Bruce on the hood reminds me of when I hit a cat in a 72 lowered Z doing 60! YEEOOW! (For you cat lovers it was an accident, one cat was being chased across the street by another cat. The first cat got away!)
  23. Just plain SICK I say! Oh, and the girlfriend approval? NEXT!

  25. What they said! But also make sure that the vent lines from the top of the fuel bowls are clear and vent freely. The other day at the races I temporary capped the lines and forgot, and cranked, cranked but no start, then remembered and fixed it and started right up!:stupid: Keep looking and once you find it you'll never forget it again, good luck.
