Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
Went on a drive today with my dad and it drove well today! The fiancé and I went through a good amount of maintenance these past two weeks. The transmission leak stopped after changing the switch! Thank you guys for this tip to fix it. Next weekend we will address two issues: a fuel leak in the gas tank right under the filler cap. The other issue is the cylindrical housing to the right of the oil filter is slowly leaking. What part would fix this issue?

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
Thank you guys! It’s all installed. I do see bits of rust in the g3 filter. I am not sure if the previous owner has ever cleaned the tank. Should the.g3 filter be enough to clean rust out of the tank or should I drop it?

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
Good morning, i’ll be working on replacing the coolant in the Z and installing a Fram g3 fuel filter. There’s two lines coming from the fuel tank. Do I install the fuel filter on the line that connects to the fuel pump?

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
Thank you for the photos! I placed an order for a new switch so I can fix that transmission leak. Right now I'm trying to find the source of an oil leak. It only leaks out a few drops each day but I want go ahead and fix it. I tightened all the oil pan bolts because I noticed that they were loose. Hopefully this fixes the issue.

I found a few drops of oil coming from my transmission. I looked under and it’s coming from what seems to be a sensor. What would be the best way to fix this?

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
Thanks for al the replies. I was able to get new brake pads for the Z. i just pulled all 6 spark plugs. There’s motor oil around the threads of all 6 spark plugs. It seems like there’s also a bit of oil on maybe 2 of the spark plug tips as well. The Z has been running extremely rich and has had a misfire issue due to one of the injectors not working. I wonder if that could be the reason.

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
I just completed most of the engine tune up work today ? Now it's time to move onto the suspension. The stock suspension is very bouncy on our 1977 280z. My fiance and I are mainly going to be using the Z for driving around on the weekends and also for hitting the canyons every now and then. I want to lower the car to 1-1.5 inches. I don't plan on putting fender flares and maybe just using 215 tires on 16 inch wheels. What do you guys think would be the best option for suspension? I was looking at Megan Coilovers for $800, CX Racing for $882 or just eibach springs and KYB struts. How do you guys like your setups?

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
I tested the wire correction for all 6 injectors and they are working. One of the injectors isn't firing. I stripped the 2 out of 4 wheel studs on the front driver's side ? To change out the wheel studs, do I need to remove the calipers as well? Thank you.

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
Hi guys, I did some work on the Z today. I replaced the fuel filter, transmission fluid. I need to replace the fuel injector because I have one that is not firing. Should I replace all 6 or just the one not working? Is it okay to buy a re-manufactured injector? Do you guys advise buying this set: https://www.ebay.com/p/Set-of-Six-Factory-Reman-Nissan-OEM-Injectors-1975-83-280z-ZX-2-8l-Non-Turbo/24013354735?iid=201509531117&chn=ps

Leaking Drum Brake Line, Can't Stop Leak
Thank you guys. I ended up fixing this issue by replacing the wheel cylinder. next up is changing out the differential fluid. I bought Mobil 1 75w-90. I didn’t find much info about this on the internet for our diffs, but should this work fine or should I return it and go with Redline?

Leaking Drum Brake Line, Can't Stop Leak
I bought a set of wrenches and was able to loosen it and retightened it. It still is leaking. i noticed that the line wiggles within the flare but. The leaking point is the gap in between the flare nut and where the line goes inside. which part would I have to replace to fix the issue?

Leaking Drum Brake Line, Can't Stop Leak
Good idea. I couldn’t turn the nut (loosen or tightened) with a crescent wrench. I’m going to head out and buy the specific sized wrench

Leaking Drum Brake Line, Can't Stop Leak
I didn’t turn it and it started leaking on it’s own after the brake was pressed. When the brake is pressed, it comes shooting out.

Leaking Drum Brake Line, Can't Stop Leak
I'm working on doing a brake fluid flush on my 1977 280z. I just finished bleeding the master cylinder and I went to the rear drums next. When my fiance pumped the brakes and held down the brake, I noticed that the line right below the hole to drain the fluid is leaking. It was never leaking before until now. It seems to be leaking right before the nut which attached to the drum. How can I stop this leak?

Picking up a 1977 280z 6 Hours Away. Tips?
Yesterday I was able to finish putting in the resurfaced drum rotors and brake shoes. Today I'll be doing the front brakes. My turn signal and headlight/windshield wiper combo aren't working. Where would be a good place to check it out? I bought electrical cleaner yesterday.

Thank you for the add ons. Today I'm working on changing out the brake shoes, brake fluid, caliper pads, resurface drum/rotors. I was looking online for a good jack points for the Z but I couldn't really tell from the photos that I saw where a good point would be. Do you guys have a recommended location? I jacked the car up on the diff.

Thank you for all the tips. I just picked up my 77 Z about 10 days ago. I noticed that the brake pedal was very soft as soon as we took it for a test drive.
