I like the rear stabilizer idea, Kats. Thanks for all the pictures!

From the archives. I think yours are stock US spec.
  3. Most probably February 1971. According to ZHome.com HLS30-22441 is a February car and so is HLS30-23242.

    Is that so!?!???
  5. Think about it...back in the late sixties, headlights influenced the design of the front fenders far more than they do today. Air flow around (and through) the car was not nearly as sophisticated as today. The design of cars today are influenced by many different factors that just didn't exist back then. I'm having a hard time with the "gaping grouper" front grill myself.
  6. This is much more current. http://blog.caranddriver.com/nissan-z-concept-coming-production-car-could-reach-500-horsepower/ January 2017

Yes. This car has been covered ad-nauseum here and Facebook. There are many things wrong with the car including the lack of wheel caps for those replica wheels.

Yes, those appear to be the real deal although I know of only one "re-manufacture" and even those were very well done. I don't know of the "cheap knock-offs" the seller is talking about. According to Kats, the trim rings came in four different designs. Here is his sketch.

Yea, I found that on the internet too! About 13 years ago.
  10. Hey Ben! Haven't talked to you in a long time.

I have the footrest but I need the plastic cover thing. Do you have one spare to sell?
  12. I don't recognize that sticker and my early cars did not have any stickers on the air box. My air boxes hold the filter element in a different manner. See the semi-circular lips inside to hold the filter in place? Mine don't have that. The outside of the air box is indented to hold the filter and there are much smaller alignment tabs on the inside. I own a number of these air boxes and they are all different in minor ways. I think Kats did a write-up on air filters boxes where he also discussed the different types of wing tip bolts.

That's my favorite color, Kats. Looking good! Sorry to hear about your slave cylinder. It will buff out!!!!
  15. Oh, be certain the Texas guys will show up in force. Have you never been to Austin or a ZCON? If you have never been to a ZCON, I highly recommend spending the time and money to do it. You won't need to "meet up". You will be immersed...for days. Its quite the experience.

What model year is that Z? Lovely color combo - red with a white interior. There is a Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee. I worked for a guy who raised lamas for the park. He had a big farm in Tallahassee. When he was younger, he was an extra in a Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movie. God speed, Ernie!

Ummm....hire an architect. I agree. It needs MUCH more thought. Wouldn't hurt to read the building code either. As it is, it can't be built. It's unsafe.

That's interesting. I've never seen one of those before.

The "OIL" (710) cap is early original and the Elephant cap is later. It is my understanding that the symbol is that of Standard Vacuum Oil Company, a 1930s joint venture between Standard Oil of New Jersey and Mobil Oil.
  21. Yes. "Hoover" is the proper Datsun terminology for the part (inclusive). "Hoover" is a little old school, however. "Dyson" would be a more modern term.
  22. Yes, you need the foam. I would go for a couple of sets of clips.

page 24. And you would enjoy this photo from the same thread along with a couple of my pictures. See the seal on the back of my panel? That was a foam seal originally. It decomposes. That panel has to be sealed to the hatch for the vents to work.

Nice heel into the front fender of the TVR. Looks like its too cold for those pansy-assed boys she has posing with her. I'll bet she owns the car.

Cool. I have the August 1970 road test issue.
