  1. Ohh, Great score, Mike! I went after one of those a long time ago and didn't win it. Congrats. That's a rare one.
  2. Hagerty - even for the restoration while it sits in a garage all taken apart. IF the shop burns or gets flooded - I'm covered.
  3. I only have two original wheels for my two cars. They both came from the spare tire well. Both had original tires on them as well. I felt the flat description was too flat and (probably) my semi-gloss description is too glossy. Also, consider how a paint will flatten out after all those years. They are black, no doubt. How flat or glossy? Who knows!
  4. Semi-gloss black exterior and zink silver grey interior and rim
  5. I'm with you on this one, Enrique. Some guys enjoy working on cars and as a result "can" rebuild their own cars. These guys devote the time because they want to. I'm going to love it when my cars are finished, but then I'll go looking for somethings else to attack. Working on the car is every bit enjoying the ride. Some guys don't want to work on their cars and as a result "pay" for the finished product. They don't devote the time because they don't want to. They do other things with their time and it usually involves making money so that they can pay for the finished product. They have every right to beam about their accomplishment. It all boils down to the road we drive. Either way, I suppose, we enjoy the ride. I'm on the build the car myself road.
  6. That is exactly what I was thinking when I read this thread an hour ago. I went looking for the info. Found Webdog's spreadsheets, but they don't seem to be of much use. I remember the old conversations about buying new hardware from Nissan to replace the old stuff. As it turned out for me, restoring the original hardware was more authentic and economical. I bought a tumbler at Harbor Freight and cleaned the bolts. Nuts and washers are pretty easy to replace with new, however the bolts bought today usually don't match the original bolts. Of course, it would take someone totaly anal to notice the difference.
  7. Wonderful youtube video! Isn't it amazing how things have changed from the 1992 days of the Nissan R92CP? On the cutting edge of technology at the time, the R92 looks so dated compared the the GT-R. Can't wait to see how the racing season (Super GT500) unfolds! http://supergt.net/en/
  8. My sentiments exactly. Thanks for the link! I saved the wallpaper pictures. How can I download the movie?
  9. I replaced the hood on 26th in 1990 without noticing the differences. The original hood had been bashed and a new hood from Datsun was cheap. It is just like the blue one I posted. Seems like a 3rd production Kats mentions. Funny, the part number doesn't change..65100-E4100 Just for grins, the part number for the PZR hood in FRP is 65100-E7200

    Z info

One will learn more about the S30 studying here than reading and believing the referenced web page. There are too many mistakes and naive reporting to even comment. IMO another very inaccurate essay by someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Yes please! Details about the car! What's theyat?
  12. Best of luck finding the grease reservoir. I actually saw one, brand new, in the bag, a few months ago. I was shocked. I would suggest you replace it with a normal grease nipple fitting. Let me know - I need two of them. Chris
  13. Sorry to come in on this so late. Especially after the correct answer has been noted. That is an AMCO accessories "Parcel Bar". Here is the magazine ad and installation instructions.
  14. I was thinking of skipping the Sebring 12 hour this year in favor of Amelia Island. I have been wanting to see the Concours for some time and this might be the year to do it.
  15. See thread http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28583&highlight=Zama from November.
  16. Though you all would get a kick out of this. Don't know if this has been posted before. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6021196065589597987&q=Hakasuka+GTR
  17. Hey Carl! 3 AM is when I get to talk to Madrid. Not just getting in. Just getting up!
  18. Hi Kats! I have the 1972 parts manual. Your wheel nuts look like the ones for my Watanabes. Great pictures - thanks!
  19. Carl pretty much hit the spot about engine numbers, chassis numbers and production dates. Don't take it all too seriously. Evidently the Japanese didn't! I have a perfect example with my cars. 26th was built 11/69 with engine #L24-2338 and 27th comes with L24-2162 and a build date of 10/69.
  20. Very interesting! Notice the fuel door knob? How about the map light? Hell, the steering wheel is worth $200! Yes, it looks as bad as 27th.
  21. We had this conversation a long time ago. Check the archives but here are a couple of pictures from the conversation. I don't know what I have however the two wiper arms are not the same length. I'll have to check my glove box buttons. Good find, Arne!
  22. That would be WHO is Toby Bean. The guy who owns those cars, obviously. Tony, a club does not have to be current with dues as illistrated at Daytona. The Spacecoast club had not paid their dues and I don't think anyone said a thing about it. I think the "in crowd" doesn't exist any more. I see cliques along the various model types, but I like smoozing with the Twin Turbo gang. Well put, John. I think it is time for new officers. New blood.
  23. Tomo, Why don't you ask Toby Bean to bring up his race cars and put them on display?
  24. Personally, I think Umbrella Girls would suffice for the bikini contest idea. Bikini contests have nothing to do with Z cars. Umbrella Girls passing out little packets of car wax would be much cooler. Art, we gave you the next best thing in Daytona. Leap-frog with Heather at Hooter's. I never saw your pictures! Chris
  25. Keeping in mind that the convention is a five day event, unlike any other Z event, I think a weekend car show would get the most people to attend. Of course, so would a weekend track day. My suggestion is that the ZCCA hire a convention promotion business to put on the convention. I have been to: Long Beach - 2004 - best Japanese attendance Syracuse - 2005 - best track (Watkins Glen) Dallas - 2006 - met the most new friends Daytona - 2007 - fun in spite of the weather Will, I got your PM and e-mailed you back. PS: The media IS invited to the convention.
