ZCON 2010 July 28th-Aug 1st Nashville,TN
I started training about a month ago when Siesta Key Rum first came out. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1485647124&ref=profile#!/siestakeyrum?ref=ts Hope to be in good form by July. Yes two bottles would be fine and sure I'll enjoy that drink! Yes the (now two) hotels for the ZCCA convention are South of town. There will be a bus shuttle to downtown Nashville on Thursday. I hear the rush-hour traffic is horrible.

I'll be in Nashville this coming Sunday and Monday. Looks like they got some water! Opryland is not our convention hotel, thankfully. I hear the bar is still open at our hotel! FYI, the Nissan facility tour at Smyrna is full however there is a conversation about adding another tour on Wednesday. We'll have to see how that plays out. This is going to be a big convention!

I hear your pain and I'm glad you found a job! It's going to be a great convention that you probably don't want to miss. Best solution sounds like mine...get on a plane and skip the four days of towing.

ZCON 2010 July 28th-Aug 1st Nashville,TN
Just a heads-up...the cutoff for early registration is tomorrow. That's paid early registration. Unpaid registrations will be purged from the system shortly. Also, just ran the stats from the registration file. The ZCCA judged competition for the car show is nearly full. So is the field trip to Nissan's Smyrna assembly facility. Over 42 240Zs are registered.

All, Good and not-so-good news...the good news is that registration is VERY strong for this year's convention but the not-so-good news is that we have managed to book up the Embassy Suites hotel. However, the convention team has added a secondary block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn. The Hilton Garden Inn is <1 mile from the Embassy on the same road as the Embassy and Nissan's HQ (location of the Car Show). Some rooms *may* be added at the Embassy should cancellations occur, but if you unable to book at the Embassy, please book your room at the Hilton ASAP. We have negotiated a similar package to the Embassy - $119/night, free cooked-to-order breakfast for two people and free internet access. Here is the Hilton hotel information: Hilton Garden Inn - Franklin / Cool Springs 9150 Carothers Parkway Franklin, TN 37067 (615) 656-2700 - Main Phone www.nashvillefranklincoolsprings.hgi.com If you have any questions, please email the convention team at: info@zcon2010.com

HLS30-00094 For Sale
Let me fill in for you. I've been slobbering over body parts ever since I was sixteen! Perhaps this comment should go in the Boobs thread.

Roughly speaking, basic registration is $75 and $40 per guest / spouse. And that depends on whether or not you are a member of a ZCCA sanctioned club. DO go to the site for more info on car show, track day, autocross, dinner and other activities. And plan to bring lots of spending money on goodies, auctions and raffle tickets!

Total 342 Z432s in 1978
I'm well, Kats. The economy is not good for architects at the moment but my project is to rebuild the engine for HLS30-00027. I love engine work. I saw a photograph from Boeing for a test of composite wing structures and thought of you. The wings were bent with the tips far above the fuselage!

What is the hardest to find early Z car part?
The PS30 or PS30SB would be my thought for an "original 1969" application; a "thin" 5-speed knob. I remember V12horse from this site had one. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a thread from him buried in the archives some time around 2005. I recall it was a competiton part application? The factory rally cars had them, I recall.

1969 / 1970 emissions decal
I'm in for a pair. Princess Ziesta came with her original hood - worthless, of course - but I don't see any evidence of an emission decal on what looks like the original paint. I wasn't going to put one on. I have been working on the trophies and goodies for the convention and have had quite the education in printing and etching graphic images. A repro of the decal certainly can be done. Let me know if you need help, Mike.

HLS30-00094 For Sale
Wow! Early NOS rear quarters! Woohoo! I don't recall ever seeing HLS30-00094 before. $28,000...interesting. I suppose if I ever advertised Her Majesty or Princess Ziesta I would say something like "new engine". Both cars had complete rebuilds. But $28k seems like a good deal and definitely worth looking at. Keep that collection going, Mike. I sure don't have a complete record of early cars like I do of Vintage Zs or Z432s. Interesting headers on HLS30-01222

I know all about it, Frank. Sorry for the confusion but things were far worse a year ago. I suspect by Thursday, this should be resolved. Also, the convention hotel is sold out and we should have confirmation on another 50 - 75 rooms at the hotel across the street by Thursday. The convention registration is already over what the total registration was for the the last two conventions.

What is the hardest to find early Z car part?
Yea, there really isn't an "original 1969 thin style 5 speed wood shift knob" although I know someone who found one in Japan a number of years ago. Depends on what you mean by original 1969.

Overpriced? Your Opinion
I think it's overpriced. Heavily modifed which means to me that it could have a number of issues lurking. And no, it wouldn't have hatch vents when the vents are on the side quarters.

Mikuni Sizing Identity
My Mikuni manuals do not show wing nuts on the caps. The application #s are Z40-550 and Z44-550. No 50mm application is listed. Mikuni boasts and 18% power gain for the L28.

Was the site down today?
Don't let the red fool you. Her Majesty the 26th has been supporting the site for a long time. Princess Ziesta is a slacker, though.

71 240z Rotor tolerance
Standard thickness new should be 12.5 mm with a wear limit of 10.5 mm. Total deflection new should be less than 0.15 mm and parallelism should be less than 0.03 mm. Your 10.5 mm rotors are at their wear limit. They wouldn't happen to be the vented hat type, would they?

Which OIL is Best?
Enrique, Enjoy your comments as always, however it is the "reputable sources" that has me concerned. How on earth could this conversation be considered "reputable" without any reference (or worse, discarded reference) to what was originally specified? Your octane rating and tire size examples reference original specification. Why not oil? Throughout this thread there is mention of temperature and operating conditions. What is the reader left with, though? Some vague idea that this might be important, perhaps, but nothing specific enough to warrant further thought? Perhaps the answer to this poor fellow's question is; "go ask a reputable source because you won't find it here"!
