Transmission Crossmember bushings
I removed the entire bushing on my 280 and the poly bushing flopped around in there. It was designed for the sleeve to stay in tact

Ease a 1.25 in there and feel it out.

I’m up, most I’ve seen is 1.25. But of course I might be wrong!!!😂

Are you sure it’s not possibly a 1.25?

77 280z Restoration
Maybe something to do with the assembly process. Doesn’t make any sense. Not durable at all. Almost a shield to protect.

Name Those Springs

Name Those Springs
Thanks Jim, trying to pull out of this food debacle from the ball field. Be careful with that spring compressor. I know you’ve done this many times as I have but it’s just as scary as the first time you tried it!! thanks, Jim

Cold Start Issues - Engine sputter (77 280z Auto)
It’s a step by step process with the FSM or EFI bible that @Zed Headhas mentioned. You will probably find one or more connections faulty. Check each one and record your findings. Jumping to conclusions will put you in a tail spin.

280z U-joints
Your best bet is to have one made for you from MSA or a drive shaft shop. The replacement units come with spicer ujoints that are replaceable if needed in the future. Going to cost around $300 to $400 dollars.

@Zed Headis correct. Just made the swap myself.

Cold Start Issues - Engine sputter (77 280z Auto)
My recommendation is to go back to the EFI section of the AFM. Start at the beginning and work your way through it recording every reading you get with your meter. Make notes and work through it. Chances are it’s multiple issues you are dealing with. There’s not a simple answer for these antiquated EFI cars. The more you check the more you will learn what makes the system tick. A lot of patience. Wish I had a better answer for you.

Make sure of the orientation of pin numbers so your not getting false readings. Its easy to do.
