Transmission Crossmember bushings
If you go with Poly, Do not remove the bushing sleeve. They are designed to fit in the inner portion where it’s deteriorating. Ask me how I know!!!

Starter motor engages then slips out
@Zed Headjust looked back at post #15. Could it be possible that this was an automatic at one time? Spacer never removed? Secondly the give away would be the neutral safety switch being jumpered at the harness where the reverse light harness is located. Fresh in my mind because of the conversion I’m doing. Totally different harness. Thoughts? Another thought, Would the bolts not be barely long enough to reach the crank? I realize this is a stretch….

Starter motor engages then slips out
Your ring gear/flywheel/starter must have an issue. Sounds like you’ve made an adjustment on the drive gear depth but certainly not a permanent fix. Are you trying to buy time or is the fix you were looking for? Keep in mind if that ring gear comes loose for some crazy reason it will be catastrophic. Just my 2 cents.

1975 ujoints
Had the same issue on the 78 280. Some one suggested loosening or removing the rear sway bar. Once that was out of the way I had access. Another trick is once you have the box end wrench on the nut spin the shaft by turning the rear tire. This will wedge the wrench against the frame and break the nut loose.

Starter motor engages then slips out
I actually just purchased a rebuilt Hitachi starter off of amazon. Was a little skeptical whether it was truly a genuine rebuild or a Chinese knock off. It had the proper stamping on the casing. Looks like they just reduced the price by 20 percent as well https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000CAV0X4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

Starter motor engages then slips out
The gear reduction starters don’t specify automatic or manual transmission. Up to 1978 they specified trans type. I’m wondering if the automatic starter might have a shorter bendix throw to the flex plate which might explain it barely reaching the flywheel. Unlikely since you said it was working previously but Just a thought. Recently did the a/t to manual conversion and the difference is a spacer on the crankshaft to the flex plate. Hopefully others will chime in. I’m sure you’ve bench tested the starter under power correct?

280z plenum
Did not see any listings for the complete front fender assemblies. I’m aware of the patch panels themselves. Trying to balance the cost of body shop labor versus a complete replacement fender.

Transmission Crossmember bushings
@adivin I recently ran into the same issue you are having. One solution is to send your existing bushings to a company in Australia that will refurbish the rubber and send them back. Here is the information I received from @EuroDat. I have not sent mine out. I was able to find another used cross member. I may go ahead and send my originals out just to have a spare set for the future. The shipping pricing is the unknown variable at this point. In australia they have a bushing service. A$ 90 is about US$65. And then you have shipping to Aust and back to the US. https://www.oldera.com.au/datsun-260z-gear-box-mount-bushes-re-rubbering-service/ Glouster is in the Hunter valley in NSW. The guys father used to make a lot of land drover rubber parts. Probably why he ha a lot of Austin and Morris parts. @eurodat Thanks again for the vital information you continue to provide to fellow Z enthusiasts.

The spline size won’t change. The diameter of the cog is directly proportional to the spin rate. Someone please chime in If I’m off base here.

Monte Carlo 240z Front Bumper
I purchased from bumper automobile. Good quality, Reputable folks Right around $710 including shipping. Amy should be the person that responds to your email. Very fast by the way. Mention the club and ask about pricing. Chrome over Stainless steel construction I ordered the 240z bumpers. You can order them with or without the license plate bracket up front. Same for the rubber. If you choose not to have the holes in the bumper they still include the rubber in case you change your mind later.

Putting in a replacement L-28
Coming in late to the thread, HF has different length hoist straps that you can wrap around a intake/exhaust or other points that lets you shorten the length of the chains.

How do I test power to wiper motor??
Google a you tube video on using a multimeter. Your looking for how to perform a continuity test and dc voltage testing. That will give you help on doing tests. If you have questions after that post them here and we can help you with testing.

How do I test power to wiper motor??
That’s a continuity test using a meter. Are you familiar with the use of a multimeter? Again that’s the only way to get true readings.
