I just saw TERMINATOR SALVATION which I thought was a pretty good flick. There is a scene in the streets around Los Angeles after 'Judgement Day' where there are a lot of abandoned, destroyed cars strewn along the street. Among them was a blue 280ZX. My wife and I were too excited seeing it that we forgot exactly which scene it was.
  2. Looks like the weather is going to be perfect this year, in the 70's. I'll be heading out Friday with my 73Z in tow. Hope you all have a safe drive.
  3. Thanks, JASPENDLOVE. I contacted the two dealers that were recommended and it seems like they don't want to touch it. I may have to try the Southern California area. I prefer an experienced 240Z installer-enthusiast.
  4. Does anybody know of any shops that are experienced in installing these units in the Central California area? For as long as i've owned my car (34 years), I've never really dug into anything major as this. I'm also getting lazier as the years go by.
  5. I found my car at 3:44 on the progress bar. Great show, great fun.
  6. The organizers estimate about 100 cars or more including 240SXs and other Nissans. The majority being Z's, though.
  7. Nice to have met you, Dave, and thanks for the headlight harness. I'll get with you soon for the other one. I also met Randy (you have a beautiful Z) and a lot of other great folks. Too many people to talk to, too many cars to see and not enough time to sit with my own car. Everyone has a great story or valuable information and I had an awesome time (in spite of the heat). 8. I got this map and instructions off the MSA website. Keep in mind that the 241 freeway is a toll road. Last year I didn't have any small bills for the machines (they don't make change) and I ended up getting a photo ticket for passing through. http://www.zcarparts.com/show_info.htm Adrian AWSM 73Z Bakersfield, CA

Yeah, I saw it a couple of days ago. It was a commercial for Allstate Insurance Co. for their website, Nowwhat.com. I think it was about a guy showing off his car ( 260 or 280 2+2) to a friend and finding it completely stripped and on blocks. It's funny,I had just finished reading this thread earlier when I saw it. Adrian AWSM 73Z
  10. It would be hard to return a birthday gift and your beautiful Z makes anything look good, but for others looking for dual mirrors, may I suggest another option? I installed these 7 years ago after scrounging around a junk yard for who knows what. I came upon a 1985? Chevy Nova (Oldsmobile Omega) and noticed that the mounting contours are similar to the Z. I took them home and sure enough, with a very slight angle variation, they looked like they were made for the Z. They are streamline, sturdy, not plastic and look very period specific, that is, built for that S30 era. I also have the added benefit of having a remote left hand mirror. I have never seen anyone else use these. Just my little contribution.
  11. That looks exactly like the toy Z I bought in an antique store last year but without the BRE graphics. It cost me $12.00 and is also pretty beat up. I don't know much about it's history but I do know that Tonka made them so it's not really die cast. I have never seen them before and for that reason I would have bought the BRE version if I had the chance. Here are some pictures of mine.
  12. I think it is a resistance issue. This happened to me many years ago in the evening and it scared the hell out of me. When I got home, I took the covers off the steering column and poked around. I noticed that one of the wires on the turn signal switch (I don't remember which one) was ready to break off at the solder point. I merely resoldered it and haven't had a problem since. Adrian
