Thanks everyone for all your inputs. I’m not super admit about the number of owners. Just something I was thinking about and didn’t know if there was an easy way to find out but does sound like it. No worries at the end of the day I’m just glad to own one of these awesome cars! Dang I was afraid it would be something like that and “asking” the DMV to do anything . As far as I know the car was originally from NY seeing how that’s where I bought it from and it’s been in TX for 20 years. Thanks for the info, I just was wondering what number owner I am. Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to find out how many people have owned my Z before me and it seems to be more difficult due to the S30’s only having an 11 digit vin. Just wanted to see if there was a way to find out what number owner I am. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hello 240ziggy, I’m in the process of doing the same thing. I have a 77 280z that didn’t come with A/C and have been tracking down all the parts. eBay has been very helpful because I wanted to go with stock inside the cabin. I ordered this kit for everything else under the hood and it looks good. Just need to get started on the installation now! Hope that helps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey Roberts280z I see you are in Houston. I’m up in Conroe just wondered how far away you are. I have a 77 280z and I’m lookin into installing A/C on mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hey everyone, I’ve just about tracked down all the parts I need but I am having trouble finding new vacuum lines for the vacuum system. Does anyone know where I can find them? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Dang that looks good! I want to do that to mine, did you just drop it off at the powder coat shop to get that done? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Dang that sucks to hear. Thanks for the info! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Thank you Texasz! I will defiantly look into that for sure. I have heard good things about the z shop in Austin, might be worth sending it over there. Thanks again for the info! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hey everyone, I’m looking for someone near me (I’m in Conroe TX) to get some work done on my 77 280z. As I’m sure y’all are like me when it comes to your Z, you don’t want just anyone working on it. I’m basically looking to have A/C installed. I’ve finally tracked down all the parts, factory inside all new under the hood. Thanks for any recommendations! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hello everyone, I had a question for y’all. I’m in the process of adding air conditioning to my 77 to 280Z (did not come with air unfortunately) I have tracked down all the dash components for a factory set up and going to go after market under the hood. With that being said my question is for the fan blower upgrade is do you still have to have the resister for the upgrade? I have an a/c and sub harness and according to the FSM you also need to change out the resister when adding a/c. But if I do the blower upgrade is that still required or does the new blower come with it? Does that make sense I know it’s kind of confusing. Here’s a pictures from the FSM about changing the resistor. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for all the information, it has defiantly help me understand how all this works together and I had no idea about the sub harness! Now I just need to track down a resister and I’ll be good to go! Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ok thanks for the info that’s a big help being able to see it. I herd if I went with the blower upgrade it came with the correct resister so I wouldn’t need one, just what I heard. So currently I have everything for the dash except for the A/C sub harness so my next question is are you selling that one [emoji23]?? If I understand correctly if I want to use the 4 speed switch that comes on the a/c face plate then I need to also switch the resister out as well but if not then it will still work with the 3 speed one just won’t have the extra speed, is that right? Regardless I do need the sub harness to make it work right? Thanks for the help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks Captain Obvious, I also wanted to ask if I do a blower upgrade either with a Honda or a Kia would the resister and or sub harness be needed? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks Steve, do you know anything about having to replace the resister for A/C for the blower? It talks about it in the FSM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hey everyone, hope all y’all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! I have a question. So far I’ve been able to track down most of the parts I need for adding A/C but I did notice on the control panel for non a/c it has a 3 speed setting for the blower motor and 4 speeds on the a/c face plate. Do I need to change anything out on the blower motor for this or is it just plug and play? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Just wrote this guy that’s selling the dash portion I posted earlier and this is what he said. If that true sounds like it would be a good unit to work with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I was also looking at those as well, it looks like that about what I’m going to end up paying for those parts. Do you think I would be able to have all factory dash components and updated under the hood. Like if I wanted to go R134A system, just wondering if they would play nice together or not. I’m pretty much learning about how all this A/C works and your help has been greatly appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thank you so much Dave WM, that was a very good video outlining what all is needed and how it is installed now I’m trying to hunt it all down. I did take a look under the hood last night and it does appear to have all the connections and brackets for A/C so that’s good and I don’t think it would take to much effort to install everything if I went 100% factory. I did find this on eBay and it looks like most of what I need is there for the dash portion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hello everyone, I’m just outside of the Houston area Conroe to be exact and I was also looking for someone who specializes in old Datsun z cars. I have a 77 280z that I’m wanting to install A/C on. Unfortunately the car never had it and I’m trying to find someone who I can trust to install it for me. Thanks y’all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. thanks I’ll defiantly keep that in mind! My sister lives around Jacksonville so if I can make it out there I’ll hit you up! I’ll have to look to see if it does support A/C. Dumb question but what exactly would I be looking for . The car is 100% stock and never had a/c so I’m not sure if it would support it. A video would be great! Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Thank you for all you advice! It is and has been very helpful. I do like the sound of your option 3, it would be nice to have the best of both worlds that’s for sure. I’ve been trying to find other z enthusiast near me but no luck, I haven’t even seen one on the road in forever. But I’ll just keep my eye out. I’m about 45 outside of Houston so I would think I’d be able to find some kind of z club to be able to see what other people have done but haven’t had to much luck there either. Thanks again for all your input! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks for the info, I’ve been going back and forth about how I want to do this. I like the idea of a aftermarket kit due to everything being new and updated but not sure about how it would look in the car, on the console etc. that’s the main reason I was even thinking of trying to track down all the original parts. Trying to find a parts car is like a needle in a hay stack these days with Z’s becoming more and more popular and like you said I’d probably end up pay a lot of money for 40 year old parts. Just really wish my z came with a/c but it didn’t so here I am..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Can anyone give me a list of all the parts I would need for a stock a/c system for my 280z. I’m thinking I’d rather get all the original parts rather than go aftermarket but not sure what all I need. Thanks everyone for all y’all’s input it’s been very helpful and hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
