air cleaner housing connections
So i have owned (a long time ago) a 72 and 73 240z. I never had this kind of issue with them. I was thinking a motor mount issue could be the problem too but i cant see any issue.... Here are the left and right...not sure if you can tell anything from the images though? Maybe i should put my big floor jack underneath and lift up the engine and one at a time try to loosen and "reset" each mount?

air cleaner housing connections
Thanks. yeah, i tried it like that. i tried it every which way but loose....just a hairs width stops it. I dont want to have to remove the gaskets to make it fit. I shouldnt need to. I am thinking about trying to find a bleed valve that is shorter.....maybe that would work

air cleaner housing connections
Managed to get the cover on and bolted up. I had to take out that one bleed valve to do it though. Something definitely wrong

air cleaner housing connections
Bolt set came in. I have an image for reference of all of it. i have also in the image for comparison an original 240z rabbit ear type bolt. You can see they are almost identical except the new ones look better. Also i put in a datsun roadster cleaner bolt which i know some have used. While it does work you can see its a little longer so the new ones work better. On a side note..... i cant get my air filter and front cover on. There isn't enough room....it hits the bleeder valve i am pointing to on the brake cylinder...of course the new set has nothing to do with this but anyone got an ideas why this is happening? I do have 2 sets of gaskets on the back side of the air housing meeting up with the carbs.... if i remove them i can get the cover on but by a millimeter

Where connections go to
thanks for all comments above. working my way through them. in meantime another quick question (i know its not an electric one..) Does one end pull of or unscrew to put a new boot on? I am REALLY nervous about putting force on it and cracking or breaking it.

Where connections go to
I am in the process of hooking many things back up. Any help & explanation where things go is appreciated. I will ask a couple problem areas at a time until i have worked my way area the engine connections remaining to be hooked up. 1. got the slave cylinder in, although rod is a little loose. Can seem to tell where the other end of the spring goes? 2. these hoses I am 95% sure go to the AC unit. Should i leave them alone or block them off (at least until i get a AC system installed) 3. The round connection wire i am pointing at. Any idea what it is or where it goes? 4. there are 2 plugs here. one my pinky is pointing at in bottom of image and other my finger is pointing at. I cant see any connections where they may go.... do they go to AC system as well? many thanks

Hood Spring assembly
yes 1971. I did bend upward. I did have to make some "Adjustments" to get them to fit snugly but its all on tight now. The hole was too high so i made a new hole lower.

Hood Spring assembly
Thanks! If in your photos you happen to show where the front bumper brackets go on the body or where the grill mounts up to the body i would not be upset at all. thanks steve

Hood Spring assembly
OK not sure what the black spring thing is really called. Anyway, can someone help me understand where it bolts up exactly and how. If anyone has an image that would be appreciated. I took lots of photos when i disassembled but i must have missed a couple like this one. thanks

Bumper rubber issue
the S.S. repros dont have them. I do have my old over riders though. When i am done with the car i will assess if i want to go back and "add" them.

undercarriage color
thanks. i ended up doing i deep clean on everything underneath. There was basically no rust on the car anyway when i got it (that was the selling point to me). I bought about 6-7 cans of good black Rustoleum undercoating. i sprayed everything down good. So now its all protected really good. I am fairly certain i could go back over it with 918 orange if i wanted but i am not going to. i think it looks good black.

Bumper rubber issue
So i had the rear and front rubbers on wrong ends. It was easy to do. Anyway when i changed them and realized they cover up one of the chrome bolt holes it looked much much better. almost no gap

Bumper rubber issue
I am just not getting to putting on my new bumpers. I am on the back sides currently. the rubbers are on and tightened up but look bad. they dont hug the bumper. I am not supposed to use some type adhesive am I?
