a local engine shop rebuilt it. they have been around 30 years. Here are some images after taking valve cover off. Oil bar looks good to me. not sure about nozzles will crank up in bit and take a video. after all comments, i am concerned about sump pump. I know i re-used old one so i am gonna eventually drop the pan and check all that out. O

Here is the gauge. Put bspt adapter on it aNd plugged it directly onto block. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004QOTYSA?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title will get some images soon. Upon another try revving engine seemed to lower psi by about 1 psi to maybe 10-11.

low oil pressure
i got in the new PSI gauge. highest it registered was about 11psi...maybe 12 at one point. Me reving engine from idle didnt seem to impact the pressure Its on my to do list to pull off valve cover. i will try to take a quick video of it when i do.

just went out and did that. i didnt see oil sloshing around at all. i did see the lobe right under the cap area and it clearly had oil on it turning. i did order a new sender. Only like 20 bucks so what the heck

Havent opened the oil cap while running will try that next. when i unthreaded the gauge i was using oil came out... i wouldnt say a lot but some did.

low oil pressure
got in a new fitting and its proper size. i put it on a mechanical gauge like in image. It didnt read anything. when i screwed it out to put the sender back in oil started coming out of the hole which is a first. Oil never comes out when i remove sender unit Is that normal? should i be concerned

low oil pressure
the male end wouldn't go into the block where the sender goes. It appears to be regular 1/8th on both ends. I ordered another one by a different company. Maybe i just got a faulty one

smell of gas inside car
i have all the grommets in place. also i put the rectangle piece back in with sealant all around it. SIGH!!!! there is still an exhaust smell. I can rider in the car a couple minutes and the smell is all over me, even with the window down. I am taking the car back to the exhaust place tomorrow to see if any more welds are needed. I cant find anything with the sniffer either. This is really odd.

all my gauge fittings wont fit in the engine block where the oil sender goes. it appears to be m10-1.0 fitting and none of the parts houses or Ace hardware carry them. can someone confirm the proper fitting or maybe link what adapter is need to test? btw, i put wire to oil sender to hot on battery....gauge went all way over, so i would think the gauge is okay. something else is the issue

where would you start to troubleshoot? engine rebuilt professionally not long ago. Runs great. gauge seems to work, just very low. sending gauge and oil pump is new. Of course that doesnt mean anything today i know. I am thinking change oil and go with a slightly heavier oil. Castol 10-30. Then check. I have another gauge, so i may swap that out just to check. Other than that i am not sure outside buying another pump and sender unit.

Antennae
thanks. i will try to use the existing switch and wiring. I have a couple confusions and tried to # an image for reference. 1. coming from my back driver side light. There is an open wire. Not sure if it plays into antenna or just tape if off? 2. The two wires from new antenna. 3. Original wiring harness. has a blue, red and 4. this image got cut off in 1 photo (see 2nd image) but this wire come from the #3 harness and has a bullet connector on it? No idea what its for. 5. this is where i put the black/ground wire from the new antenna. Any insight into where the new green & red go would be appreciated.

climate control panel removal
thanks. when i searched for AC panel i found more info too. i somehow managed to get these screws out...small hands i guess. Yeah. This switch was "hiding" back there in that area... Anyone know what it is? It looks kinda like an aftermarket setup for antennae but not sure

climate control panel removal
A search here and youtube yielded no results. Does anyone have advice on how is easiest to remove this? I have all knobs, screws etc off. All thats attached if the wires for the levers. I need to replace a gauge in the dash and wanted to re-freshen this panel. Maybe this is something i shouldnt attempt?

smell of gas inside car
Gotya. I took car to muffler shop. They put it on the rack. Exhaust has 5 different big clamps on it. One of them was leaking...the one under driver seat. It got welded up tight so Hopefully this will help address the issue too

smell of gas inside car
That piece is indeed off. This could be the issue but I am not understanding how in the world exhaust is coming in through that area though i have some 3m weatherstripping tape. I will put it back on with oem screws and tape all around edge.

smell of gas inside car
The gas sniffer isnt registering anything. I have tried it from front to end on everything. It does work though, i tested it out on lots of things. I just took the car on the Hwy. first time. left the windows up and AC on. When i came home terrible smell on me. This is getting a little silly. If there was anyone in area who knew anything about Z's i would take it there. Unfortunately there isnt.
