Hello all, I have a 1976 280z. I have seen pictures of vinyl liner material that went inside the storage compartments behind the seats. Anyone have a decent picture? My car never came with any, has anyone made their own? How do they mount to the car? Thanks in advance.

I have a 1976 280z. Car came with all the interior panels laying in the hatch. Where does this piece go?
  8. Perfect, thank you!
  9. Can anyone tell me the bolt size that goes through the lower joint of the steering shaft where it attaches to the steering rack? Is it supposed to be a shoulder bolt or just a standard bolt? Also, what size and thread? Car is a 76 280z if that matters. Thanks

I am finishing up a full restomod on a 280z. I modified the floor pans and tunnel in several areas and also removed the seat braces so I can't use a standard carpet kit. I'm planning to get a roll of carpet and install myself. The hatch piece I can use a pre-cut standard product from a vendor. Since the carpet won't be molded, it will be a little tricky. I'll likely have to use heat and water to get it to conform. I much prefer the look of carpet on the transmission tunnel vs vinyl. My current plan is to have 3 separate pieces: 2 for each floor, and one for the transmission tunnel. Since the pieces will be separate, there will be 2 edges touching where each floor pan piece meets the transmission tunnel piece. One piece will have to sit behind the other. My current plan is serging/banding the edges of the transmission tunnel piece and have it sit over the top of the floor pan piece. Everything will be glued down. Although I'm not sure how that will affect the wire bundle I have running along the outside edge of the passenger floor pan. I'm still considering using a single piece of carpet, although it seems much more daunting. Any advice or comments? Has anyone else done this? Has anyone successfully used a single piece of carpet to do this? Has anyone paid a shop to do it? Thanks

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you adapt the ends on the Stabilus for the s30?

Thank you for posting this. Does anyone know if this is the same strut that Zcardepot offers? Any reason to buy one vs the other? It certainly won't be out in the elements but I will wash it from time to time

Thanks. Any way you have more photos or even better dimensions of those extra brackets? I think those will be impossible to find. I'll probably have to fabricate them myself.

So later year s30 cars didn't even have them from the factory?

How important are the hatch hinge seals? They aren't cheap. Without them, does water get up into the roof pocket? Trying to determine if I really need them or not. I have a 76 280z.

Has anyone had their sun visors reupholstered at the Z store? https://www.thezstore.com/product/6346/sun-visor-pair-repair-reupholstering-70-78-240z-260z-280z I don't have any visors currently for my 280z and was considering buying a rough set and doing this service or buying a decent used set. Any thoughts?

My 280z tail light panels have several bad areas, mostly around the small holes that hold the bezels to the panel, and a couple of mounts broken off that hold the tail light housing to the panel. What is everyone doing to repair? I'm thinking building up the broken mounts with epoxy and then drilling/tapping. But no good options for those extremely thin holes for the bezel mounts. I guess I could epoxy the bezels to the panels? Are there decent aftermarket options?
  23. Thanks. How unbelievable that a wear item was designed to be unserviceable. Do you restake with a sharp chisel? Does anyone know what years had a clip instead of being staked?
  24. @zKars @Patcon So I took a closer look at this and I'm not sure what's going on. I expected that the caps would be held in with c-clips on the inside, but it appears there are no clips, and the caps are held in due to the fact that the metal rings around the caps appear to be staked (peened?) in place. How would I go about removing the existing joint? Were these supposed to be non-serviceable?
  25. For those of you that had to modify the part to work, can you explain what you did?
