Yes, one of the few pieces you can get for the ZX is frame rails and floor pans but I will most likely recreate them. Will have to dig in to the area under the doglegs. The floor there is in post #45, third and fourth pics Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pulled the fenders to take a look and dug at the corner of the foot wells yesterday evening. Moisture is from spraying down with penetrant. Behind that right fender Then the footwell under Drivers side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok. So remove radiator cap, drive new car under, then replace radiator cap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ha. Here’s some of the rust spots. Mainly the usual places at the joints between the front and rear of the floor pans. One good one back in the spare tire well but not in the usual spot and possibly some “work” around it so it may have been previously patched. Maybe treated inside? Just poked it with my finger More rust on some upper body panel parts but no pics. Drivers door needs major work, both doglegs, and the right rear. Also some around the windshield which I really don’t want to remove. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dollied the car to the shop yesterday and went ahead and pulled the motor, trans, and gas tank while there was an open lift. Everything came out easy, just a little short fight with the trans. All that was needed to remove. Everything else had been previously removed. I haven’t been under this car on a lift until now. Could be better, could be way worse. Nothing I didn’t already see and it actually looked better than I thought. The frame rails are rough, but only on the bottom and the metal I could see inside looked great I wasn’t sure about pulling the tank, but I was curious if it was hiding rot. Tension rod mounts worn out - please help!
When I bought my ZX it came with a uninstalled poly kit. At some point I decided to put the tension rod bushings in and then snapped one of them a little after. The rod could have been failing or maybe I over tighten them. Not sure, but not a fun thing to have break on you. Makes braking very interesting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

starter issue, wiring?
I only have a ZX to look at but in comparison the bracket is backwards. On mine it is flipped over. It sits on the outside where it bolts to the motor and bolts to the backside of the alternator, not the front like you have. Not the best pic but it’s all I could find Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Heater and AC discussion.
Yep. In a modern car if you have it set to defrost, on hot or cold, the AC is running to dry the air. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought it odd what they said about the paint. I guess it’s possible, but unusual. No? “The seller says the Racing Green paint is original, though he notes “a few touch-ups” done after it had been stored under covers for 40 years. Seller describes that the original paint was wet sanded, touched up, clear coated, and buffed out.” If it’s original paint, why not just touch up and buff out? I’d be worried about the clear coat pealing later on if that is what they did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cleaning the engine bay (77 280z Auto)
Yes. Some, or most, brake clean sprays are pretty wicked. They will remove cheaper paints, and stain others and maybe worse on plastics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Brakes dragging
Did the wheel move while on the ground? If so, get a reference of where you need the wheel and mark it then put the wheel back on and move it to the right spot. Or you could try a long pry bar between two wheel studs. Maybe wrap them in tape to protect the threads Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Could be corrosion in the cable not letting it fully release. Not sure how the set up is on earlier Z’s though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How did they work out for you? I guess you mean the screens by “inserts”? I must have misread their description for the screens. I thought they only fit the large and medium, but now realize the small should work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
