After some help from zedhead with picking injectors, the car now runs like a charm and sounds like a healthy 6 cylinders not 5. Injectors fixed the starting issue, the slow acceleration issue and a ton more. Sadly I have to go get the car smogged at a star certified shop. My carbon canister is not setup correctly at all besides one hose, I would love some visual help with setting the canister up since I am a visual learner. It is mainly missing the distributor to carbon canister hose, I couldn’t find a good diagram for it.

This is extremely affordable compared to the huge mark up on datsun garage. I have noticed zcardepot marking up some of their items. Which would you recommend the GB injectors from rock auto or the motor-man injectors from eBay? I have heard that certain after market parts are not as reliable as OEM parts, I’m still naive to certain things. Thank you for the help.

Are remans good purchases? I was told remans aren’t recommended by motor z, also does he have a return policy? I have heard of him and have seen forums on him being very reputable but didnt look further. I was also looking at these https://www.datsun-garage.com/products/fuel-injector-replacement-kit-1975-83-280z-280zx-non-turbo-only injectors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went to a junk yard today, no dice sadly I was late they had 2 zx’s but they had been gutted and crushed. Turns out I have a leak injector which is why my car has lack of power, and some engine shake. Sadly I think ill have too drop the 440 on a new set of 6 injectors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So when I bought my 1978 Datsun 280z the PO gave me a set of 6 injectors. I was thinking about cleaning them out since they all checked out on my multi meter. But they don’t really look like 280z injectors even though he claimed they were. So are these 280z injectors? Forgive my ignorance. If they aren’t are there any cheap alternative injectors or cheap injectors in general that are trusted that fit stock.
  11. They’ve gotten a bit easier to understand, but I still struggle. Im glad im not alone, Im going to college to be a electrical engineer just to be able to fully work on my car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thank you, I will do this tomorrow my car is pretty close to being on the road, I just need to fine tune things like this, I appreciate the help from both of you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Im young but also a little blind even with glasses, ill keep the low beams on for now till figure a switch solution. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. That was my plan in the first place to solder the ground and high beam, since a video showed they are always touching the switch just choses which ones touch. Thank you I will do that for now till I find a switch of some sort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. All fusible links read above 12v so 12.34-12.40 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. White cable still reads volts -12 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Got my multi meter IS THERE A FASTER WAY TO COMMUNICATE Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. HOW DO I CHECK IM WORRIED. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Connecting them did not work, i may be wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. So connect both of these cables together and that will jump the head lights? Those are the only 2 similar looking wires from the diagram and that is the only just red cable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Okay thank you, cause I’m out to solder the high beam with the ground as a fix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I was thinking about soldering all 3 wires together and just using the off and on switch as it still would function. Is that a bad idea? And what do you mean by jumping the cables, wiring is my least of experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. It appears my low beam and high beam switch is broken, is there a quick fix to this to have either a constant high beam or low beam. I was thinking about soldering them back into place, but not sure if that would work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can pick up a meter for 13 bucks in some stores I recommend getting it now, it’ll come in handy, I think replacing the fuse should be a good step. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Thank you, I have replaced the leaking one and I am going to look into replacing, the longer one with an actual braided hose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
