The positive cable is the one with the two white wires. The skinny red wire I assume is their poor job at a subwoofer, and the thick red wire has a job and I’m going to be adding it to the positive terminal cable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The battery connections are new, I had already gotten 2 new battery cables so the connections are clean and nice. I can update you with some better photos of the links tomorrow as of right now I’m out. I checked by attaching a line to the fuel filter, and disconnecting the starter solenoid, the gauge read at 20-25psi. There are no extra wires connected to my negative battery terminal. There are 2 white wires to my positive which go into the wiring harness under the fusible links, There is an extra red wire which I’m figuring out what it does that seems to run along into the the dash board area on the driver’s side, under the brake cylinder, and an extra red wire which runs under the car. I figure the one cable under the car that is currently hanging out is the previous owners bad wiring attempt at a Subwoofer which ruined a lot of wiring. The picture are the new links I installed. Car starts and stays on now, changed the fusible links, new battery, the fuel pump is a little low on the pressure but works, and messed with the idle a bit. Oh and also cleaned the grounds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I checked fuel pressure, and received about 20-25psi, I believe its supposed to be 36psi so I will be getting a new fuel pump. I already installed a new battery and new fusible links car seems to want to turn a bit faster, won’t stay on still but its getting there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes from what I read you can delete the valve and the car should still run! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought about it being the cold start valve after watching a few videos, but I think it would only really help the start be a bit faster, but i will definitely be checking thank you for the advice I hope ur project comes along well! I also need to invest into a multimeter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you for checking out my photos and offering more advice and help. I just ordered new fusible links and will checking out for line leaks. Tomorrow I’m going to clean all ground connection, later this week I will also figure out the idle speed and timing since that’s something I did not do on my tune up. I added some pictures if anyone would like specific up close and better shots I can provide those, I bought the car from a mechanic who was getting to old to keep it. I have not messed with the timing yet, it scares but I have to get to it. The car had sad for maybe 1 to 2 month with out being on I try and turn it on frequently to prevent it from sitting to long. When I first got it I filled it up with some fresh supreme gas. Thank you for the welcoming and advice! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Im working on getting a new battery by this week or next, and was also thinking of conducting a fuel pressure test. I do have the FSM but have no clue where to start. I sadly have no friends or anyone who can help and have had my dads help since he has more experience but anything beyond a few maintenance changes are above his knowledge. Im new to this im no grease monkey, and im 18 I have had trouble with my 1978 280z starting ive gotten the car to run even do a lap around but it has trouble when starting the car cranks and sounds like it wants to start but wont, starting fluid really helps to turn it on but if i let my foot off the clutch and off the gas the car will turn off, if i give it constant gas it will stay on as long as i keep giving it has if it dips under 1k rpm it will die, after many many attempts I can get the car to stay on and idles around 800-1000rpm and will stay on, im guessing it may be a fuel Issue it does not read temperature on the temp gauge so sensors may not be working. I can provide more info, photos, or videos if it could help you guys help me, im novice and have been going off forums i have no prior experience with cars this is the first, running tests will be difficult for me and will take me time but recommend away. New parts list: -ngk spark plugs and wires -ignition coil -new afm boot -oil filter -fuel filter -new fuses -new cap and rotor -new alternator -new battery cables It does need a new battery as the battery is completely dead and must be jump started Planning on getting a fuel pump, battery, and either fpr or cold start ignition valve Here are some engine bay photos, the previous owner did some really bad jobs. For example that carpet to protect it from the rain which im planning on removing, and failing at installing a sub in the car. I couldn’t upload videos of the engine running sadly the app did not let me.
