just saw this post... going to try and beat that tonight...
  3. I hope the kit comes with a compressor mounting bracket... my block doesn't have one on it.. hahaaaa
  4. that would be GREAT.. thanks
  5. the addon thanks. edit.... I'll take either
  6. Looking to put a/c in my Z.. anyone have any pictures of a system installed on thier Z....or know where any are posted?? I'd like to see where the components are mounted in the engine compartment..

welcome...I bought my Z for 900 bucks originally as well....good luck with the project
  8. especially if it's a cop riding a Harley doing the stopping...
  9. they have them in stock, 795 dollars, 595 for labor to install. I've never messed with A/C. not sure I want to tackle this one.
  10. does anyone have the nissan part number for this kit?
  11. this is nothing more than a money maker for the communist state of california... crap like that is why I left.... "We're looking to make a heavy impact on speeding and street racing in this area," Sacramento Police Deputy Chief Steve Segura said. that means "were going to make some money". BTW, it seems they only want to get the import scene. I have yet to see a mustang driver that didn't speed... yet cops don't give the domestics a second look...it's their judement right?? I had a cop(while in california) follow me home one night... he says (when I got out).. "pretty loud exhaust don't you think?" I say.. "not for the motor I have crammed in here" I lied and told him it was a V8 and he let me go...
  12. I just know I want the R134a not the R-12. and I want it to be cold...
  13. I saw that MSA had an A/C kit for 240Z's. My Z never had a/c. anyone have any feed back on this kit? is it hard to install??.. I've been thinking of doing an engine swap in the near future, and would like a/c. thought when I do the swap I can just adapt this kit to the compressor that comes with whatever engine I put in... looking for any comments on this... -dave
  14. I've had pretty good experience with MSA.... only had shipping issues with them, that wasn't their fault from what I could tell... I usually order via there website store though... only other issue with them was they didn't have what I needed in stock... but that's another thing that's starting to be the norm from companies... everyone is starting to save money by keeping less inventory..
  15. well, for those that don't have the money... I'm not in a huge hurry.. my motor swap is gonna be a few months out anyway... just knew that we all cant afford things like this at a drop of the hat... so wanted to give some good notice before I pull the motor, and give everyone a chance.. I just wanted to have a buyer lined up to recoupe some funds before I start tearing into this project... so in the mean time... feel free to PM me an offer, if we can settle on a price, I'll pull the motor early.... and if your looking for just the tranny, bored su's, or my shaved flywheel. I want to have a buyer for motor before I pull that stuff, .. as for price? motor cost me 6000.. how about we start at 4000(with carbs) and work from there.... -dave
  16. 31 views and 1 reply ?? hahaha
  17. 20,000 miles. has the bored Su carbs... also have a rebuilt close gear 5speed with about 1000 miles on it. Not sure what to ask really.. the motor cost me just under 6000. I had it dyno'd a couple of months ago and even with a bad spark (found out it was a bad coil) I still put down 200hp to the wheels. I also have a 14 lb flywheel.
  18. I'm thinking of doing a different motor swap. Just wanted to see if anyone wants first dibs on my Rebello racing built 3.0L stroker...
  19. Yes I do mean rotational play.. when up on jack stands, I can rotate the wheel about 1/4 to 1/2 without the halfshaft moving. well I'll keep your parts in mind, but I found a 240Z that had rear wheel hubs in good condition, so i just took the whole strut assembly
  20. anyone? anyone??
  21. careful, it stands out...cops like to pull me over.
  22. I like it, but I still think I like mine better...
  23. There seems to be some play between the inner and outer flanges of my rear hub assemblies. anyone have this problem before?? What could be slipping inside the assembly?? It's the only thing I haven't replaced on my Z

thanks, I just looked around on some threads and found some info... I do think I want a pro to do this though. Hate to spend that kind of money and do it wrong.. Damn.. it's expensive.... anyone have a used one??
