Thank you President Clinton
This "marching order" of calling it "Clinton's military" is nothing more than the newest stradegy of the re-writing of the Clinton legacy. That statement isn't even arguable. The best thing about being a liberal is never having to say your wrong. I can't believe how much liberal crap I read on this sight. I thought you all hated the combustion engine, yet your a member of a classic sports car sight. HYPOCRACY!!!. Go to one of those electric car sites or something. By the way, I heard a liberal make a comment about the looting that is taking place. The statement made was "see...they are not ready for freedom" did they apply that same ideoligy to the looting that took place during the L.A. Riots??? There ought to be a law....
that is taking it a bit too far. Although I do like the small hood scoops in the hood. I'd like to replace the vents in my hood for those. I swear the stock vents look like heater vents you'd find on the floor in any household. Anyone know where to get any prefabricated scoops.

camera mount
Thanks. I'll check out those sites. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some vids of my laps next time I go out. Might make for some good comedy.

Help!!!!!!
sounds like the connection to the solenoid. My car used to do that all the time. All it did was make the "clicking" sound. I jiggled the connection and it fired right up. The connector had some crud on it, so it wasn't getting good conductivity. I've since put a new connector on it. It could be the starter itself though. Is your starter a rebuild??? I went through 3 of them before getting one that worked.

adjusting valves
Thanks for refreshing my memory there Alan. That's how it was explained to me by the guys at Rebello Racing. It just went in one ear and out the other at the time.

adjusting valves
Well, these guys build one heck of a motor. Many years of research and development. Must be something to it. I was told they never measure at the cam. I'll give it a try.

adjusting valves
Nevermind. I had someone clarify it for me. They measure at the valve underneath the rocker arm. They say it's more accurate.

adjusting valves
I called Rebello to see what I should have my valve clearances at, and they said .008 at the valve (cold) , NOT at the cam. I only know have to check at the cam. Anyone know how to check at the valve??? Dave Record 1972 240Z rebello 3.0L

my first time
$5000.00 is about right. I know V-8 horsepower would be cheaper, but in the longrun maybe not for me. I wanted to stick with what I know (and I"m still learning)....the L6 engine. Besides, it's fun telling people "it's only 6 cylinders...I swear!"

fuel problem
I can't figure this out. Everytime I brake hard, then come to a stop, my RPM's drop to the point of almost stalling. Then, after a few seconds, the RPM's pick back up. Could this weight transfer affect the fuel to the carbs?? Maybe not enough fuel in the float chamber?? The harder I brake the worse it gets. Anyone have an answer???

question about tires
I guess I should have paid more attention to the site, before asking the question:stupid: thanks

my first time
Zlishous, I'll let you know the next time I go out. I only saw a couple of Z's out there. Would have been nice to see a few more. One of them was even louder than the RX-7'sLOL . NASA put me into a class with some really fast cars, one being a 2002 Viper GTS. I think I should have ran in a slower group. I had horsepower to keep up with some of the cars, but even If I could out power them, I couldn't out handle them. I'm good at the "courtesy pass" signal. I was told however, that my tires were good for learning the correct line of the track; so maybe I'll do better the next time I go out. (with stickier tires)

question about tires
please help a rookie out:classic: What do they mean by 'heat cycled' and/or 'shaved', and why is this good???
-
my first time
I meant that I did HEAR Kumho's were a good tire. I should proof read better.

my first time
Thanks, Time to go shopping. I might just get a set of wheels and tires just for the track. My current tread ware rating is 400!! The fact I kept up with anyone out there is hard to believe. I think I had the hardest tire out there. I did here a lot about Kumho's. I heard they were a good 'bang for your buck'.

my first time
I finally took my Z out to the track for the first time (MY first time too). It was a Infineon Raceway. What a rush!!!. I learned so much about racing. I now realize how GOOD the pro's really are. My Z has around 275 hp (not sure how much is going to the wheels), and it's a little depressing to see a Miata in your back seat wanting to pass!! After a few runs, I found out my tires have too high of a tread ware rating. Sad to say that I did spin out once on turn 8. I was following a trainer on my second run. I was having trouble with turns 2 and 7 so he was showing me how to take them. well, I was doing good, so we started speeding up. I was going too fast through turn 8. The mistake I made was letting my foot off the gas midway through the turn. Funny how that's just like hitting the brakesROFL . I spun, then straightend it, but now i was in the grass with no control. I just kissed the tires infront of the wall on 8a. Very lucky, only a scratch. Can't wait to get back out there. Anyone have suggestions about tires that are streetable, but are really good on the track. I know it's a trade off. I'm running a 15 inch rim with 60/ 225's

Z in a MOVIE!
I've posted this before, but there was a scene in the show 'rockford files' where a woman is followed by James Garner, the woman is in a white 240Z. I remeber it because you see a lot of the car.
