  1. I have the program your looking for. It's called softwheels. www.softwheels.com I had them make me a program with just the Z car on it. They didn't have a 240Z at the time, so I used an early model 280Z. Good luck finding 4 lug, 0 offset rims though...

I have heard of people putting the late model 15/16 brake master cylinder in their 240Z's. What is the advantage of this and is it a direct bolt on?? dave record 1972 240Z Rebello built 3.0L Tokico springs, rear sway bar, strut tower bars, short steering knuckles,4-piston front calipers, rear disc brakes (brembo rotors),

I"m getting a 4-door truck out of practicality, not looks. I have a wife and kid, so I need a vehicle with a back seat. I also need a truck, for various reasons. One of them being for towing the Z when I move to Texas, or taking the Motor to the speed shop (hopefully not very often) can't do that with a Jetta. J/K there Arizona240z:classic:

well, to tell you the truth I'm a novice when It comes to trucks. I the last truck I owned was a 1989 toyota. I bought it brand new. In my line of work, I see more contractors using the Dodge truck, than the Ford. That's why I leaned toward the Dodge. Tell me, why is a Ford better than a Dodge?? Either way, I'll probably get that Titan. Speaking of the Tundra, I heard it was racing in the NASCAR truck series next season.

It's about time Nissan made a full size truck. That picture would be complete if it was towing a 240Z on a trailer. I've been thinking about getting a truck with a back seat. Been steering towards a Dodge. Looks like there is a new contender.

what about the motor mounts? torque from acceleration might be keeping the motor still?? Just a guess........ Everytime my Z vibrated at around 60 MPH it was because of wheel balance. I've been told that Z cars are very sensative to wheel balance.
  9. My wife hardly even sits in the passenger seat let alone DRIVE my Z!!! She's afraid of it actually. Besides, I got her a 2000 Celica GTS. So she gets her fill of 'sporty' driving with her own car. (wish I would have waited for the Subaru WRX, we have 1 child, I would have liked the four doors)

everytime I get a ticket, it's only for about 10 mph over the limit. I guess I'm just lucky. Had the Z up to 145 once. The funniest ticket I got was when I recieved a parking ticket one night. I ripped up the ticket and threw it out the window. A few days later I also recieved a littering ticket in the mail. ARRRGGG!!
  12. Dreco replied to baron's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
You mean they just gave you a ticket????? I thought that was a "GO STRAIGHT TO JAIL, DO NOT PASS GO" type of offense.
  13. I saw one takin a few laps at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA, a couple of months ago. I assume it was a replica. VERY FAST!!!! Amazing that so much sound comes out of such a small car.

The Getaway in Stockholm videos.....Those guys are absolutely INSANE:stupid: They take high performance cars and actually get the police to CHASE them at high speeds, make a video of it, then sell the vid. I'm mean, are these guys for real??? www.getawayinstockholm.com is the site if anyone is curious. If your in Stockholm, for GODSAKE, LOOK BOTH WAYS!!!! ---------- Edit by Mike: Added the proper URL.

the 240Z had the lap belt, with a shoulder strap that hooked onto the lap belt. I didn't think it will bolt to the "tower". I bolted the retractor (early 280Z model) where the "strap" bolted to; next to the hatch above the tower. Then had the end welded to the lap belt end. The only problem is you have to work with 2 locking straps, Lower and Upper. Sometimes it's a pain to get both straps to work together when putting the belt on, but I like having a shoulder strap that retracts. At least until I get my new seats that will use a 5 point harness. Hope this helps.

  18. I talked to a friend of mine and he explained to me that the reason the pressure increases when you close the valve is because your forcing the same amount of fluid through a smaller hole. Like holding your thumb over the opening of a garden hose. The reason I got the adjustable valve is because I thought the stock valve ( being set up for drums ), would create too much pressure for rotors; ergo, the rear brakes would lock up to early. Plus, I have the toyota four piston calipers on the front. After putting on rear disc brakes, I figured I needed something adjustible to balance everything. So your saying, if the rear locks up first, just back off the valve until the front brakes lock up??
  19. Hello all. I purchased an adjustable proportioning valve for use with my rear disc conversion on my 240Z. According to the instructions, increasing the valve, increases the pressure to the rear brakes. My question is: does restricting the flow increase pressure?? I blew through the "IN" side while turning the valve. The more I turned in the "increase" direction, the harder it was to blow through it..... can anyone explain this to me??
  20. Don't let HS30-H see that pic!! he'll have a heart attack!!

No damage, just lost a stereo amplifier. The next day, I had an alarm put in it. I live in an apartment complex, but my 'baby' is parked right infront of by bedroom window. If I only would have heard the thieves, the outcome would have been a little different. Hopefully the alarm system will keep that from happening again. Funny thing is, that's why I still haven't painted my car yet. I figured, why draw attention to it when I don't have a garage for it yet. So much for that theory. Only a little while longer and I should be able to get into a house with a garage. Until then, it's paranoia!!! and sleep with one eye, and one ear open.

Bambikiller.....Ditto... !!!.... you slayed me with that last post!!! I'm getting tired of NASCAR everytime I turn on my speedchannel; and that's bad when I get tired of ANY type of racing. I'm off to give my opinion to speedtv.

Out of all the aftermarket front spoilers out there, I liked the Kaminari air dam the best. It follows the lines of the Z car well especially with the headlight covers. Although the stock front looks great, I wanted a slightly more agressive look. Bumpers are fiberglass ( weight loss program ). here's a pic.

I know that Motorsport Auto is offering Konig 17" rims for the early Z's ...4 lug with the correct offset. I'm thinking about getting a set. here's a pic: Drecord 1972 240Z Rebello 3.0L
  25. That was a great event. I was going to run at that event (my first one actually driving) , but the wife needed tires for her car (2000 celica gts), so I just didn't have the extra funds for registration and helmet (maybe Santa will get me a helmet for Xmas) Oh well, at least I was able to take my son out there, he's 2 yrs old. We were in row 1 in the Grandstands. While the drivers were in the starting grid, my son get yelling at them to GO!!!! he's already got the racing bug!!!!
