gotcha thanks... I saw a part in the nissan motorsports catalog that showed an adapter for a remote oil filter/oil cooler set up... it had a spot on there for an oil temp sending unit...

but don't want a reading from the hottest part??

I think i found it... I think it's a 16.4mX1.33 ... sounds like an oddball size... i was hoping it was a 16M X 1.5, (there's an adapter for that size)... oh, well.. I have an extra plug... might just try tapping a 1/8 npt thread in that... I just don't want to mess with the oil pan if I don't have to... (putting in a oil temp sending unit in)

well, I was hoping I wouldn't have to tap the oil pan... thought I could just use an adapter on the drain plug... like a 1/8 npt female to metric type adapter.. problem is I don't know what thread size the oil pan is.. I've done some searching and think it may be 16.4mX1.33 if that's the case I don't think there is an adapter with those 2 sizes.... I was hoping it was a 16MX1.5, then I could make that work...

need thread size for the oil pan plug...is it NPT?? Metric??

I was going to get a plug with a sending unit in it, so as to put in an oil temp gauge.... but I dont' know what size it is... anyone know?? or anyone have a better solution to putting in an oil temp sensor/gauge?? here a picture of what I was going to get... figured get this and hook it up to a gauge?

I was wondering if anyone has used an oil temp gauge and/or external oil cooler... the 240Z didnt come stock with this and I was wondering how to install one.... I was going to go with the oil cooler from motorsport auto, but it doesn't look like they offer an oil temp gauge kit... anyone know where to get one??

oh, sorry, it's a MSA 3 into 2 header, going into a 2 1/2 exhaust... muffler is a aftermarket brand called Forza, deep tone at idle, then nice and throaty at high rpms..

it's encoded with divx, let me see if I can encode it with simple wmv

Thanks for seeing it my way.. (saying this with a hint of sarcasm) well, in defense of my driving, they make those passing lanes, according the lowest denominator, and it's not me... I could see well ahead of that bend... I'm from California where there are turns (Texas doesn't know what a turn is)...That was a Texas back road, had it been in California, there would have been a passing zone.. Next time I'll show a vid of me, going the speedlimit and never passing.. That should make for an entertaining video .
