  1. Well, my Z31 is allmost showroom clean. I hardly want to touch it. If the engine ever gives me any trouble i plan to swap in an RB25DET. check this thing out! Not a spec of rust, and the interior looks like it was never used. I donno how it has 157,000 miles?! It's funny, i got more complements on my Z31 in the 2 days ive had it then my S30 in 3 years! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4635275589&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3APIC#mainImage
  2. heh, hey thanks anyways vintage, i just bought a flawless 89 Z31 no need to swap anything. :cheeky:
  3. Gotcha, I copy/posted on hybrid Z at the same time i posted this anyhow. Thanks
  4. Hey, I have a 240Z with Sr20det installed and am now venturing out into the realm of the Z31. (and am very excited about it! :classic: ). I really like the front bumper on the 87-89 Z31's but i've found a nice turbo 86 (i think its an 86) and would like to know if i can easly bolt on the 89 front bumper to it. Is this easly done? are the 86 front fenders any diffrent from the 89's fenders? I havent gotten up close and personal with any Z31's so i'm sorry if i'm asking stupid questions. :stupid: . And how about the rear taillights from the 89 onto the 86, that possable? Thanks!
  5. Hey, Your time would be much appriciated! Thanks a lot!

They are the older Defi link Gauges. You can find local dealers here: http://www.defi-shop.com/product/meter/meter_top.html They are Very pricey gauges since they are electronic and must use a defi control unit. I scored them at a super sale a few months back at a local shop that was overstocked, Half price I payed, total for all gauges was $540.00 Thats without the controller. For that setup prepare to pay around $1300+ I chose them for the record and reply options, neat setup and that they resemble the stock Z gauges in a way (blackface/white numbers/Green ilumination)

I bought my 71 240Z with an autotrans, but quickly removed it to begin my Sr20det install. (almost finished). I am now looking into another 240Z to cruse around in with some loud pipes and suspension upgrades. i found one with a 4 speed trans, I was wondering, are the diff's bettween the 4spd and 5spd large? are the 4 spds highly frowned on? What kind of speeds could i reach in a 4spd, IN 4th gear at say? 3500rpm? I do drive alot of highway miles. Thanks a lot!

I have an R200 mounted in my 71, I have 280zxt CV shafts waiting to go in, Motorsports adapter plates are in. I know one shaft is tinny bit longer then the other, which one go's on what side? Thanks,
  16. Sorry i'm late, No need for pix, The r200 is in my 71 240Z using the stock transverse link which DID have the bend in it (thanks bean). Everything was stock except for the mustache bar and bushings. So if ya dont know... now ya know!
  17. Hmm? for some reasion both those links you provided did not work. I will let you know what i find on my Z saterday when i'm at the shop. thanks!
  18. Beandip, Thanks for the bulk of info, it was much appriciated. My Z is at my shop awaiting completion of a 1998 Sr20det swap, Motor is in with trans and whatnot. I have the R200 and 280ZXT CV shafts and CNC adapter fanges from modern-motorsports.com. On saterday i will look at that rear transvers link on my 71 since i never really payed any mind to it untill now. If it is straight i will take that curved one off your hands for sure. I'll let you know saterday what i find with a pic. So that Small front crossmember that holds the R200 front mount was not needed from a 280Z? cool. Thanks again! REgards, John
  19. I am aware that i will need the front mount, but do i need the small crossmember that holds the mount from a 280Z? Thanks for your time.
  20. Sorry, i thought i mentioned i have a 71. I will need a curved transvers link from a 280Z. Anyone have one?! Parts are 2nd to none here in NYC. So i will not need a 280z front diff crossmember?
  21. Damn, i have a 71, I need a curved transverse link it seems, I'm in NYC and parts for these cars are close to none, can anyone dig one out of they're south west back yard Please?? Also do i need the small crossmember that the front diff mount sits on from a 280z? if so can someone please provide that aswell? Thanks a lot ! John
  22. I'm getting mixed info on the R200 swap into the 240Z. At first i was told i only need the mustashe bar and front diff mount/insulator. Then i read i need the transvers link, mustache bar and the small cross member that the front diff mount sits on. it says all that here http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/tech/R200.htm Now on this post it only says i need the mustache bar. Can someone who Has done this swap before tell me Exactly what i need to get this 4.11 R200 in my 240Z ? Everyones help is much appriciated!
