    As for your turn blinkers. Does your hazards work? If they work then its in the switch. Make sure your big round fuse is ok the one that makes the blinking noise. Also check all you bulbs associated with your blinkers. When I bought my car some one put a single fillament bulb in the back and that side blinker did not work front or back. Strange things happen with electrical. One thing that helped me the most was a color wiring diagram. Got mine on ebay www.slash5.com check them out.

    Just rewired 1970 Z and had a lot of the same. Head lights have a +B power feed from the fuse box to the light switch. That wire is working. There are two wires that go out to your head lights from the collum, High beam and low beam that are controlled by the dimmer switch. My guess is the low beam wire is not working. Do a continuity check on that wire. If you want to have low beam only switch the spade connections at the light connection/plug high to low wire in the plug. I use a set of tweesers to push down the spring part of the spade connector that holds it in the plug. Good luck
  3. Lets see first 1971 $1,000 (1994). Took it apart spent $3,000 rebuilding, powder coating suspension/ all kinds of upgrades along with rebuilding engine. Kids came along 94 and 98. Car on hold. Single again Jan 2006. Feb 2006 got 1970 in NY $2500. Removed and replaced all parts from the 1971 put them on the 70 and sold first one for $1,900 (this month). $5000 to paint and body work. Lots of other costs. I figure some were around $10,000 - $15,000 when all is said an done. My big question like you might have--- Why? I Love the Z's and have you tried to work on the new sport cars today? Remember It's just money and you can't take it with you when you go.

  5. 44 in Columbus Ohio never been on the road in a Z! I've had one for 11years and will get to drive it this summer.The older you get the longer things take.
  6. I'm rewireing my car (70) with a painless wireing kit but keeping the steering conections as is. It was hard to figure out the wiring. I found the best diagram 11 by 17 and color coded. It's great and easy to read. Check out this web sight. www.slash5.com.

    I just put one on my 70 dash. It was not as hard as I thought it would be. I took my time clamped it down in lots of spots. Took a heat gun every day to help it fit better over a week then glued it on. Looks great. The only thing I do not like is when you open the door you can see the side of the dash and the place were the cover ends. Other than that it looks good.

    Im all set up and started new project. It should be on the road next month. I will try to post some photos. My race car is on hold untill this one is done 1970 Z. I have photos of it on this sight.

    What kind of shape is you car in? I am rebuilding 1970 and you can put more $ into the car than it will be worth. Im doing it because I will keep the car. I also have lots of extra parts if you need some.

    Rob I just picked up a 70 240 and lots of parts. One of the trans looks like it might be a 5 speed how can I find out?
  15. Were would you mount the strut. As you can see (my photo's) this is a good time to set it up the correct way. What is the adjustable bonnet. Control arm mount? From the manual drawing all the measurements are from the frunt sway bar mount. With the new frame rail I do not have the location of the swaybar bolt locations or the control arm location. I know that my cross member is in the correct location so all I need would be the measurement from the crossmember bolts to the swaybar mount bolts and the same distance from the crossmember to the control arm rear mount location.

  17. I have the camber angle. Look at the top mount it also is angled back to the firewall. This one I do not have. We took a plasma cutter and cut the car off at the fire wall. Can you get a measurment from your 260? How far is it from the firewall to the shock center hole? How high from the frame to the same location. Do you race you 260?
  18. I cut the front of my 1971 240 off, built a frame and now need to locate the location and angles of the top strut mount we are going to fabricate. I placed a photo in my album called strut mount (reddog929) take a look and you will see what I need. I have the lean in angle of 13* 54'. Looking at the old front end the mount also leans back to the fire wall, might be around 5-10 deg. The front cross member is in the correct location and bolted on. Also need the hight from the frame to center of mount. I think its close to 16". Any help would be great Thanks
