  1. Having problems with my car overheating, I've put in a thermostat because there wasnt one there, Ive got a fan clutch from pick and pull that looked almost brand new because I tried to recondition the fan clutch with what was said on this site but It overheated to much and wouldnt start and when it did start it would just idle rough, the water pump is about a year old. Now the fan clutch that I just got, I checked for easy spin while it was cold but it was kinda hard to turn and then I checked it when it was warm and it turned easier than when it was cold and did not engage. How much should it turn when it is cold, and could this be the problem. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

It looks like all the stuff is there for the pedal mount theres a bar going all the way across, heres some pics so you be the judge, there is a hole for the pedal on the firewall. I dont have to change the differential or the driveline or the tranny controlled vacuum advance(top gear switch)

I wanted to know what I would have to do to convert a 1978 280z with a 3speed auto. to a 5speed manual, would I have to change anything else," besides the tranny of course."

I already changed the fluid in the differential, it did have some deposits in the oil, I think that I do need to change my differential:cry:

Yes I have changed and checked the fluid, I took it to a transmission shop and he told me I would have to get my differential gears changed or get one from pick and pull. It shifts fine I dont think its the tranny. I also changed the filter in the tranny and put a new modulator valve on it.

I have a 78 280z that has a 3 speed automatic, It shifts fine but after I get to about 50 mph it winds out and sound like its going to blow up, is it the differential or the transmission. Could someone please tell me. P.s. it has an r180 diff.
