im in the process of doing mine, but like all my projects they go over budget . I got inspired by my friend 300zx, which has a black suede, leather, and vinyle interior. with little plastic. Im covering post of the plastic parts with some kind of fabric. I was going to use spray glue to attach the fabric, but my friend says he did that on one of his cars and it cost him 200+ just in glue, so instead you should use rubber cement, and you can get that for cheap in big amounts at homedepot. I hope that will help a little keeping the cost down

  14. I would not buy from too intense restorations, I have found they are super over priced. The previous owner of my car replaced the carpet with what I figure was from VB(he gave me a VB catalog, no msa catalog). the carpet it self has held up, but like probably most replacement carpets it has fadded. maybe up can put some kind of anti fading stuff on it(something that fights stains too)

I dont really like white interiors. I get pretty dirty day to day....junkyards, skateboarding...., and I think a white interior would just get to dirty for me
  16. take it to a detail shop and see what they say. they can work wonders, I used to do an intership with one for school. Sometimes you can heat the paint up by using a buffer, that it will take off the scratch. dont heat it up to much though, cause it can burn the paint. Id take it to a professionall detailer and see what he says, and let him get out the scratch. btw where are you located? maybe someone can susjest a good detail shop in your area

think you could post a picture of your spacer? I saw your web site a while ago and posted on zcar.com to try ask you about the horn button. Dam, I shoulda posted here instead
  18. you forgot one dissadvantage....they arent making the for the 280zx much longer
  19. so did you not use the fender and headlight bucket from the 240? the last picture looks like its still on there
  20. well its partially installed now, I just need to put the muffler on and tip
  21. my 82 wasnt starting for the last couple of days. It was crank, have spark and fuel, but not turn over. I had some bad electrical conections to the battery. I lossened up the clamps on the battery and then tightened them and made sure it was on there. I also took electrical contact cleaner to all the connections under the hood. Also from all the cranking of the engine you may flooded it. take the spark plugs out for a while and let the gas evaporate
  22. I know what I need to do now, I wish they would have told me to shorten the straight pipe the first time instead of taking off the catalytic convertor. It will be a lot easy to replace the cat with a high flow one in the future now, with new bolts on it
  23. check for vacium leaks and loose hoses. also try to jump start it, sometimes the car will have enough power to crank but not turn over
  24. I first didnt understand how to install my new exhaust. It didnt come with instructions or anything with it. So I call motorsport and they tell me that I need to remove the catalytic convertor to install it. I try to get the catalytic convertor off and the bolts ar to rusted. so I take off the down pipe and use a hex saw to cut the bolt, I reattach the down pipe and go to install the straight pipe and everything. and its about 4 inches short. so I call motorsport again and complain and the guys says i wasnt suspose to remove the catalytic convertor. So now I have to drll out the old bolts that are rust and screw to the catalytic convertor, go get new bolts, reinstall my catalytic convertor, and install my exhaust. SO I WORKED ALL DAY FOR NOTHING, AND IT MADE ME HAVE TO DO MORE WORK
