  1. After getting the Fairlady I found a 1974 DeTomaso Pantera in Arizona.
  2. I recently traded my 510 wagon for this 1971 Fairlady Z. Chuck
  3. Oh, I misunderstood. Hmmm...I think I'd just make some nice patches and weld those holes shut. You might have to do some cutting/drilling to eliminate the rear "L" braces where I mounted the rotisserie. I'm not sure what to do with the recessed section where the rear panel welds to the trunk floor. I guess I'd cut that out and extend the floor. Chuck
  4. I'd just weld the 2 big holes for the 280Z bumper shocks and then see what has to be done to mount the 240Z bumper. You should be able to make a bracket to mount to the rear panel using the existing holes. Mount the bumper where I attached the rotisserie. Chuck
  5. I've decided to put the car on ebay. If anyone's looking for a strong ITS race car, auto-x car, track car or wants to go vintage racing you should check this out. 1975 Datsun 280z Its scca Race Car VRG Vintage Racing | eBay Chuck
  6. I've never run Nelson. I've done only Summit Point so far. But my car ran Nelson before I bought it. I don't know what his lap times were but I can tell you that the car's much faster now. I think I'm racing Pocono and VIR this year in my 240Z. Chuck
  7. Price lowered to $11500. I'll have the car available for inspection at Summit Point during drivers school Mar 28-30. My plan was to sell the race car and then look for a Fairlady Z or Pantera. Well, I just found both so I need some garage space. Chuck
  8. I tried to post this in the classifieds but the page kept locking up so I'm posting it here. 9. That car belongs to Mike Gadwaw. He lives about 40 minutes from me. He's a Z guy and knows them well. Chuck
  10. Get what you can from RockAuto.com. They usually have the best prices. Chuck
  11. You probably disconnected the wire. It's on the right side of the engine in front of the oil filter and above the motor mount. I think it's a single wire with a push-on connector. Chuck
  12. Those are the clips for most Zs. Carl is talking about the plastic clips that were used by the very early 240Zs. Chuck
  13. I'll have to look in my other garage to see how many I have left. I might have an extra set of 280Z quarters. Might not. How soon do you need them? I'm in the middle of renovating my kitchen and we just got a bunch of snow. I'm not sure if I can get into my other garage. Chuck
  14. I had 30 sets or so of those and sold all but a few. They're easier to replace than the tabco arches. Chuck
  15. Nice pics! Stop by vendor tent this year and say. Chuck
  16. It feels good to know that I'm not the only one. I spent years buying parts for a 1969 240Z. Not that I had a '69 Z but because I planned to have one some day. I try to keep at least 2-3 of everything. You know...just in case. Oh, and I just bought a 1971 240Z parts car. Maybe I do need help. Chuck
  17. They are showing a metal 240Z 3-piece panel. The 260Z/280Z uses two plastic panels. Chuck
  18. That's a solid car by East Coast standards. Nice find! Chuck
  19. I got a sheet of mylar (wrapping paper?) at Walmart or a hobby store and then cut off a strip. Mask off the area, spray 3M glue, apply mylar strips, let it dry and then trim off the excess. Chuck
  20. I'll keep driving my '72 turbo Z except in snow and salty conditions. It's my DD. Chuck
  21. It's #4 in this picture. Chuck
  22. Are they U shaped clips? They go near the ends of the cable to hold it in place. Email me a pic if you can. cbuczesk@comcast.net Chuck
  23. Have all your suspension parts powder coated. I agree with using stock brakes. Check rockauto.com for brake parts and more. Chuck
