  1. I don't have a book in front of me but I'm pretty sure they're the same. Chuck
  2. I started 9th in qualifying and finished with the 9th fastest time. The good news is that I was 2 seconds faster than in July's race! Jeff qualified 2nd in his 240Z. The race was intense from the start. There were about 14 cars in our ITS class and a couple behind me got a really good start. A red 2nd gen RX-7 and Mark's orange 240Z passed on my left. I couldn't hang with them and they continued to pick their way through. I battled off and on with two 325iSs, an early 1970s 911, a 2nd gen RX-7 and some lapped traffic from other classes. After a lot of work I got by the 911 and I think one of the BMWs. I knew there weren't many laps left so I had to make a move soon on the black Bimmer. Going into turn 1 I braked late and the pedal went to the floor. Yikes! I moved to the inside and he gave me room but then he pulled away. I tried to cool the brakes to make another run but it was going to happen. I finished 9th and I beat a couple cars that out-qualified me. Mark, after adjusting to cam timing, ended up 4th and Jeff was 2nd. It was a pretty good day for the early Z-cars. And I took another half second off my fastest time! Chuck
  3. Try 4 washers. Mine locked up at work and all I had were some pennies to use as spacers. Best of all I got to do it in the dark! Chuck
  4. You might need to adjust the pushrod coming out of the booster that projects into the master cylinder. Make it shorter by 5mm and try driving it. I had the same problem. Chuck
  5. I got everything loaded and ready to haul down for setup tomorrow night. Chuck
  6. We got another Z in our race. If anyone with mechanical skills and Z knowledge is going please let me know. We have no crew for Saturday! 03 ITS Jim Cummings Black 1977 Datsun 280Z Chuck
  7. I can't see the link. What did he say??? Chuck
  8. Put it in 3rd and then quickly go into reverse. That should do it. I've had that on some of my Zs. Chuck
  9. This weekend (Sat-Mon) is the MARRS Labor Day Double race at Summit Point, WV. This is the last MARRS race of the season. I'll be there in my 1972 240Z along with Jeff Lucas in his 1973 240Z. Jeff currently sits second in the points and going for his 2nd consecutive MARRS ITS Championship! As of now there are 16 entries in ITS. 6 are Z cars and 1 is a 240SX. All of the Zs will be set up in the area if pit road entrance. We are in group 2 and will be on track around 8:30am. I might be able to get one person in for free as part of my crew. Come out and say hi! 10. Turn the wheel side to side a little while wiggling the key up/down and left/right while trying to remove it. Good luck! Chuck
  11. There's a rubber or foam gasket on the socket. I'm sure you can make a gasket/grommet. Maybe an o-ring would work? Chuck
  12. Passenger eject lever. Chuck
  13. That's how my car is. It's like I hit a rev limiter at 4000. I know it's an electrical connection on mine since it usually clears up when I push on the big connector on the black box. You might want ot check all connections and grounds related to the efi system. Chuck
  14. Take the plastic cover off the efi box and go for a drive. When you hit 3500rpm limit push on the big connector with your foot. Does that let it rev up? Sometimes I have to do that with my car. I haven't had time to really research it. Chuck
  15. I have their 3-row in my race car and it keeps it plenty cool. I'm not using a fan. Chuck
  16. There's a clip there. I think I popped it off with a small screwdriver. Chuck
  17. I've installed several. I currently have them on my '72, '74 and '75. I've never had much of a problem. The most I've had to do is ahve the glove box door a bit and adjust it. Can you try it on another car? Maybe your dash is warped? Chuck
  18. I think this guy is claiming his car to be #424. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/bar/3211590561.html Chuck
  19. Since these are Datsuns shouldn't the curtains match the drapes? Ya know...engine compartment should be the same color as the car's exterior? And before anyone whines about mine here are pics. Chuck
  20. What are you looking to do with your car? Race it? Track it? Auto-X? Street driving? Car shows? Chuck
  21. You can try bleeding/flushing the clutch with new fluid. I always shift into 3rd and then quickly into reverse to prevent the grinding. Chuck
  22. But what size is the front MSA bar? It might be bigger than 1" and without the matching rear bar you'll have understeer. My 1972 240Z race car (ITS class) I think has 1 1/4" front and 7/8" rear and it very well balanced. It's built to ITS specs and is not stock so keep that in mind. Chuck
