Thinking of putting a set of these on my 240Z...
I have those exact same turbos on my single cylinder racing go-kart. There is not much lag at all. You really cant feel it if you have them set-up properly. Heehee...just kidding! Man are those things big! I would love to see them in action! ROOPZ

280Z idiosyncrasies?
Thanks for the posts guys. I guess I am happy (?) that I am not the only one having these things happen. ( I dont want anyone to have problems) I realize it is an older car and I love it because of that. I suppose I am too much of a perfectionist. I want it to be new! I bought it from the owner of 20+ years and he did a wonderful job of maintaining it. I have not found one jerry rig on it. He always had it serviced with Nissan parts. As for what could be my problem, I have not changed the module in the distributor nor have I flushed the fuel tank. I plan to do this (tank) when I pull it to convert the car to 240 bumpers. (Getting there...) As for the module, I was told it was not bad so dont mess with it. Is this the opinion of everyone here? Or do you think I should just replace it? I have read a few posts on the HEI upgrade. Is it worth it? I like my car looking stock so... Anywho, thanks again for the advice! RoopZ

r.i.p my z loving friend
I am sorry to hear about your dog. That really sucks. I love animals and especially dogs. I dont have one personally because I dont have the time to give them. I work and go to school. Someday I will though. Anyway, I hope the good memories keep you happy rather than sad. Peace. ROOPZ

280Z idiosyncrasies?
Hello Everyone, I am wondering if the other 280Z drivers out there have cars that seem to have gremlins that cant be fixed or found? My car is a great car except for its occasional bad temperament. It likes to stall, hick-up, jerk, start up easily at times and not want to start at all other times. I have replaced so damn many things on it I dont know where to start now. Everything is brand new. All Nissan when possible. I am ready to yank out the L6 and buy an LS-1 I cant bring myself to trust it for any kind of road trip which is sad because that is wehere these cars are so much fun. At least for me it is. I am just curios if other people have these problems or if I am the only one. If you do experience these things, how do you deal with them? Do you drive it anywhere or hesitate to take long trips? Thanks! ROOPZ

Do you have any decent front bumpers? If so, how much? Pics? Thanks! Roopz

Radiator upgrade
I had bought one of those universal aluminum radiators from Summit for my Camaro. I came to the quick conclusion that to mount it would take way too much modification. I wanted my car to look/be original (at least structurally! ) save for the all aluminum rad. I sent it back and ordered the custom fit radiatior made by BeCool. I love it. Fits like a glove and the car runs much much cooler than before. So in my opinion, spend the extra money for the custom built radiator. You will be happier with it. Good luck ROOPZ

Motorsport auto on my s**t list
I too have had some less than positive experiences with them Mostly the service I get on the phone. One person in particular is the worst. I wont name names. Also, I agree they need some sort of computer update. my last order was delayed for 2 weeks because they were trying to charge an old credit card which of course declined it. They kep telling me they were waiting on the merchandise but then I get a call from their accounts payable dept and they accused me of trying to use a bogus card. I had given my new card number to them at least twice. I was p-o'd but their products are good so I am happy to have them there. I am just happy that I dont have to depend on them for anything...yet.

Nice day for a pic
Yea! I second that, looks great!! I love the flares when they are done this way. I must admit I am not crazy about the other "bolt on" look. Tell us more about the engine!

Besides the Zcar, what are your favorite cars?
I dont see any pics of the 65-66 Camaro. Are they any different than the 67-68? ROOPZ

Besides the Zcar, what are your favorite cars?
I love all cars really...but I have (in addition to my Z!!) an 82 Mustang GT, a 68 and 73 Camaro, and a 73 Pontiac Lemans. If I could have anything....I dont know where I would begin. Probably a 911 or a skyline. Then I would need a c5 corvette and a 55 Chevy along with a new 05 Mustang if it looks as good as the concept. So many cars...so little money! ROOPZ

Buying my first Z
I would definitely do the LS1. It would be a great motor to have and easier to supercharge than an older carb'd version. Check out www.darius240Z.com for some awesome video of a 240Z with a V8. You will probably want to checkout www.hybridz.org for more swap info. There are a ton o people there who have done many different kinds of swaps. Good luck!

Bumpers??
Hello everyone, I am trying to clarify how the 240 bumpers mount on a 280. I know it can be done but I am trying to make sure I buy the correct pieces before I buy them. I know noone personally with a 240 so I cannot see for myself. I think the 240 has a recessed area in the quarter panel where the bumper meets but my 280 does not have this area. How will the bumper fit? The front seems to be fairly straight forward but the rear has me hesitant to try it. Is there a difference in the 240 bumpers from year to year? I have searched the forum for any swap info but noone has ever addressed the issue of the recessed area or any specific instructions on how the install goes. If anyone has done this swap please let me know? I appreciate it very much! ROOPZ

Windshield Wiper Motor
Hi everyone, I have a question for you. Why do my wipers move so slowly? I have take the linkage out and cleaned the bushings/etc and re-lubed them and it made no difference. There does not seem to be any restrictions in the linkage at all but yet the wipers move at a snails pace. Is this normal? Would a new motor help? Any other options? I dread driving in the rain, not only because I dont want to get my car wet [] but also because I can barely see through the windshield. Thanks for any advice. ROOPZ

Sounds like your clutch is going out. I would have it checked out before you damage the tranny and HAVE to have it rebuilt. Good luck! ROOPZ

A/C, MSA, Courtesy Nissan, Vintange Air, other?
Hey Landmizzle, I do not have any experience with installing aftermarket air in a 280Z but I am installing the vintage air in my 73 camaro (hey! I love all cars, but not so much the new rice burners ). It is one of their universal fit series. If you are good at fabbing up brackets (simple brackets at that) then you will have no problem. Just measure the area you have to work with under your dash and see which system they have that fits into those dimensions. They have a catalog that lists each system and its dimensions. If you do not have it then measure your area and let me know, I will look it up for you. Dont forget to leave room for other items that fit in the dash. Since I am still in the install phase I cannot comment on the effectiveness of the system but I have heard nothing but good things about the vintage air systems and I would not hesitate to install it in my 280Z. Best of luck, ROOPZ
