Thanks guys. sbliake01, I will be using the original springs so that should cure that problem..right? The wrecking yard where I bought them swears they are the same. They looked it up in their "book" Whatever that means! Thanks again!

OK...another dumb question perhaps but is the rear strut housings fom a 2+2 the same as the non 2+2? I bought a set from a 2+2 to rebuild and now I'm hoping I didnt screw up! Anyone know? Thanks! Aaron
  5. Will, keep me posted on how it goes?
  6. Hi Gary, Thanks for the reply. Yes I have replaced those too. The rear bearing are the only things not replaced! I am not looking forward to doing it. Thanks also for the offer to borrow your pin puller. I may take you up on that! I destroyed them the first time and replaced them so I really dont want to do it that way again!
  7. I am needing to replace the bearings/etc. in the rear and am curious if anyone has done this. I dont NEED the CV half shafts but if they are smoother quieter or more reliable then I would like to do it now rather than in the future. (Someday I will have lots of hp but not right now) I have replaced everything on this car each time thinking I finally cured the clunks and noises but it just keeps getting worse and I cannot stand it any longer. It sounds like the rear end is falling out of the car everytime you hit a bump! This cannot be normal. It has always "clicked" when you back out of the driveway but now it is doing it during turning through a corner/etc. or just rolling forward at times. I feel convinced it is the rear bearings. Everything else has been replaced! Im a little scared to tackle this job myself after reading the haynes manual but I feel I can accomplish it. My main concern is the final torque. I read the post where another guy had issues with the free rotation after torquing it. So any advice for me? Do you think the ZXT half shafts are worth it? What is the best way to change the bearings? Thanks! Aaron (FYI, Id be using MM's adapters for the half shafts.)

Thanks guys! That is what I was hoping to hear. I searched the panasport website and dont see a list of dealers. Marty, tell me again what size tires are on your blue Z I dont recognize the 216/60 size. How much larger than stock are these and did they affect the speedo? Will you post a pic of where/how you rolled the fender? I was leaning towards the 15 inch but was undecided on width. Does everyone agree that the 7 inch is best for a daily driver? (Maybe occasional spirited driving!) Thanks agian!
  13. Hi Everyone, I did a search and still have a few questions. Is there a ride quality difference between the 15 and 16 inch wheels? (Still have the 14's on my car so curious how much of my luxurious ride quality I will lose! ) Is there a potential for rubbing with the 16 inch panasports and stock suspension? I spoke to a guy with them and he wishes he had bought the 15 inch wheels. If I go with 15 inch, should I get the 15x7 or 15x6? Is there anywhere to buy them other than MSA? I think they are always marked up so much on their items even though I order quite a bit from them. (Just not a 1000 dollars worth of rims!) I just dont want to order one and wish I had ordered the others! Thanks for any advice!
  14. The Camaros and Firebirds are very similar when it comes to suspension but the body panels are absolutley not interchangeable unless you want to do aLOT of modifications. i.e. the quarter panels will fit the other but the looks are not there obviously. The front and rears are different. Different radiator support...different... you get the idea! As for a dime a dozen, will you pick me up a few dozen. The 67-69 Camaros are bringing crazy amounts of money! I have a 68 and a 73. Fun cars! Different animal than the 280Z but still fun!

Sorry to hear that! It sucks I know. But, to play devils advocate....sometimes those dents and ripples dont show up until you begin the prep process. So what may have looked perfect before the body shop started was in fact not perfect. At any rate...I hope you get it back soon and you are happy with the results!!
  16. If there is one you will find info at www.hybridz.org Dont expect anyone here to condone that kind of action! Best of luck

Personally, I would choose Diamont over Chromabase any day of the week. I guess my first choice would be Valspar if its available but like I said, the guy could not mix my color for some reason and I wanted it as close as I could get so I went with Diamont. Hope this helps.
  22. ROOPZ replied to jmark's post in a topic in Body & Paint
Yes, I suppose I would consider Diamont a high end paint. But it isnt my first choice either. I dont think a person would go wrong by using it.
  23. Ordinarily I would agree with you but have you seen these cars after a dose of technology?! I got 13" brakes and a t-56 in my 73 with close to 400hp. I got 25mpg and can stop on a dime! And...it handles pretty good! No Z car but still...its fun!
  24. ROOPZ replied to jmark's post in a topic in Body & Paint
I have. We use it at work and I also painted my Z with it. (Not with paint from work!) It is as good as Chromabase in my opinion. The base is a little different. It "builds" more than Chromabase. I always considered chromabase more of an ink! But, they are both good and both expensive!! I wanted to use Valspar on the Z but the place could not mix the correct color so I decided to go with Diamont. Valspar is more like chromabase but is about half the price and it seems to hold up just as well. Definitely sprays and buffs just as nice if not nicer. Best of luck! Aaron
