  1. never mind I found the numbers
  2. Thats what I was wondering, because the part numbers are way different. The '77 # comes up but not the others. What about front corners and center valance numbers for 77, are they on the CD?

Will '77 fenders work on my '71? If not how many years were inter-changeable?

"Excuse me for not understanding, but how are you making these formed, cloth covered, hoses? Did I miss something in a previous post or other thread? Dennis " I would like to know this as well. Thanks, H Houghton
  6. Got em, Thanks Arne

I have located an early series one transmission but it does not have the shifter (straight bar type) does anyone have or know where I can get one. I don't want to get the transmission and then hve no way to shift it. Thanks. H Houghton
  9. Nice weather in Minnesota and it snowed all day here in Northern New Mexico. Whats wrong with this picture?
  10. Shelby GT 500 Cobra
  11. Did anyone ever put an eye on this car?
  12. 60 is the new 40
  13. Holy cow, The ones I removed are like one inch steel bent and drilled and the part that bolts inside the body inside the headlight buckets were so short they only reached the first set of bolt holes and homeboy drilled an extra in front of the first hole and set a bolt. Those in the picture actually look like they were designed!
  14. Thats what I was thinking because the ones that came off are basic L bends. but were the wrong length and didn't reach the back bolt holes
  15. I am trying to identify early front bumper brackets, the ones I took off my car are obviously homemade or from some other vehical. Since I am at my office today I can't check my club cd, I have searched here w/o result. Do they look like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240Z-Front-Bumper-Brackets-260Z-280Z-NICE_W0QQitemZ190294108613QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item190294108613&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting Or are they different? Best, H Houghton
  16. "Cutting the stock exhaust pipe open at the "Y" and going to a larger diameter exhaust system, with a free flowing muffler will pick up between 12 and 15 HP. " Mr Beck, What exactly did you mean by this? Are you referring to the divder in the neck of the exaust manifold itself or something further down the tube? I've never seen a stock setup so forgive my ignorance, Best, H Houghton

A7DZ, Nice. Your pics make me feel much better, the hole I will have to cut will be a good deal smaller. Mine is a bit higher and will take out a piece of the horizontal raised area and I'm not sure how I'll deal with that. Did you use filler to clean it up? It looks great! Also, does anyone know what gauge the firewall metal is? Best, H Houghton

Where would I find this stuff?? I was thinking of cutting the hole out, then cutting two pieces and welding them in centering them on the bead bar seen in the center of the hole, first the lopwer to make sure the cabin is sealed then the upper and reaching through from the top to seal the seam. But panel adhesive sounds much simpler

While cleaning the firewall with a wire brush I uncovered a bit of bondo which I scoured out to reveal THIS!! There is nothing but superficial rust in the other classic rust spots, side drain boxes, fender wells ,spare tire or floor pans, just a bit under the battery tray, the tops of the fenders and this. My qustion is how to deal with it. It is not positioned in a place or big enought to be a structural problem, it is situated right on the seam of the cowl drain box and the upper side of the passenger foot well. So, POR15/cut and weld a piece or cut and braze a piece. Also the tops of thefender wells have a vee shaped configuration that seems to trap water at the forward end, would it be wise to drill and intall a drain of some sort or will new fender seals cure this? Need input. Thanks. H Houghton
  20. Saw a small coolant leak and decided to replace the head gasket, SO how did I end up with this??!!
  21. Thanks all, now I can get on with it.
  22. If I use it in the engine bay should I cover it with another clear coat as carguyinok said? Also is there anything clear I can use to seal the head and timing chain cover to make cleaning easier or would it impair the heat loss?
  23. Illuminate me, What is the single stage paint, and how does it differ if I buy paint and have it loaded in cans or if I buy a quart and put it in a reusable air compressed can like those that Eastwood sells?? Is it the propellant?

I am in the process of refinishing my engine bay and was wondering if it is possible to find Datsun 903 blue in rattle cans. I know Classic Datsun Motor works makes block, air cleaner and back panel colors in cans but don't know about body colors. Thanks, H Houghton
  25. Tunnel opening looks stock but I have no idea what the original B shift lever would look like.
