  1. I installed mine with the stock lower mount and trimmed the bump stop as per Arne's pic and never had a problem, smooth as butter.
  2. Arne, PM'd you re taillight harness. Thanks H Houghton

I got em all and the improvement was dramatic. I could SEE the road with stock headlights and I could finally read my dash gauges at night without waiting to pass under a street light. I got higher wattage replacement bulbs for the dash so it will even better when I'm done. But now I'm considering LED's for the dash lights. What do you think Dave? Which are brighter?
  12. Finally, after spindle pin hell, now replaced with new and slicked with anti-seize ,all new bushings, lower diff mount and R/T mount (Thanks Dave) Finally back on all four feet. Had it up in the air so long I forgot how small it is! Now just need to finish up the engine and drop it in, transmission is prepped and ready to go. THEN all I need it is to pull an Arnie, body work and paint and I'm off and running.
  13. Thanks D, After searching the site for awhile last night I found a couple of threads dealing with flywheel size/clutches etc. Probably should have started there before posting. Oh well. I really appreciate any response I get. Best, H Houghton
  14. Its always one more thing with this beast! Took the flywheel into the machinist today to be checked before I install it because I saw a couple of small cracks in the surface and he said it would be fine if I didn't mind my foot being blown off when it exploded. (I actually know a guy this happened to) So now I'm looking for a flywheel for an L28. My question is are the 240/260/280 flywheels inter-changeable? Or do I have to identify a specific one and if so how? MSA only carries new competition but no stock. Thanks All, H Houghton

Derek, I'd be in for a set as well! HCH
  16. Arne, I'm using all the pieces that came out of the old trans as they are almost new so they all should match fine, hopefully it won't give me any grief on assembley. Any advice, pointers etc gladly recieved. Best, H Houghton
  17. I'm going back to the early transmission style and as I was prepping it in anticipation of getting my engine re-installed (throw out bearing, collar, lever and assorted springs) I noticed that the later dust boot is way too large to re-use. My question is , are there any other differences I need to be aware of, like flywheel bushing sizes or anything else that might make me crazy that I can deal with now while its on the bench. Thanks All, H Houghton
  18. I have a wife and four kids and we survived(sorta),all out of the house now and its like living with my girlfriend! So you have something to look forward to! PS I've been meaning to tell you that the defrost switch you fixed for me is a beautiful thing as well as the third brake light. Thanks so much. H Houghton

I think all you need to do is use 260 bushings, the mounting area on the 260 rack is larger than the 240 rack so the bushings are thicker and a bit longer.
  21. I've read on several places that Miata seats work well without much hassle and have headrest speakers to boot I finally settled on rebuilding the stock seats and really find them comfortable after they were fixed.
  22. Always thought you needed the module to trigger the MSD this sounds pretty trick, how do I do it? As for the ZX upgrade I dropped mine in and have had great starting and power across the band.
  23. Y'all just opened a can of worms! roflol
  24. Really nice Dave! I noticed leaves on your tree, what is that like? First day of spring I awoke to 8 inches of new snow and a balmy 19 degrees. I like your car and your weather.
  25. Don't forget the: cottonpickingfatherlessnogoodpatheticpieceof@#%!*#@@!!! = spindle pins
