  1. i believe they were something like 17x9.5 and 17x8 i cant swear to it but looking at the pic they look like autocross tires.

places like classiccartraderonline.com if you dont mind travel go to the southwest you will find a good buy there
  3. for one i wouldnt buy it if it has a sunroof but thats just me, the only lsd that will fit without modification is the quaife unit, costing at 900+, or with modification, a 87-89 Z31 turbo rear. i would say that they are su's unless there are three then they could be mikunis, webers, dell ortos? pics would help also

just take you time and go over it correctly. you should do just fine, for i cant see any problem you would run into, and i like 2manys idea of the spot weld:cheeky:
  5. im sorry the car doesnt look bad except for all the yellow in the interior, but dont you love how they misuse the words complete restoration. id be satisfied if they would have said restification or completely rebuilt, but to me that car is far from what i would call a restored vehicle. unless all those steel braided lines and body kits came with the car stock and i missed something. as far as troy goes from what i hear hes a pretty good egg. i had only one dealing with him and found that if you dont think the way he does and argue a point or price of something he sells or the way he does something then he becomes almost childish with his attitude and mannerisms.

    TWICE PIPES!!!!!!!!!
  7. the calipers as far as fitting with the stock steel wheels i cannot say. if you remember the 5 slot american racing style aluminum wheels that you see on a lot of Z's, i had those on my 71 and they fit with no problem. if you look at my gallery look for the yellow 71 240Z. they fit with those. dhayes i know you can upgrade to the 15/16's mc from a later Z car but im not sure of if any modifications you would have to do.
  8. it isnt a true short shifter. all you have really done there is shorten the shifter lever itself and have not shortened the throws. i must admit i have done the sam in the past and it does give it a better feel, but its not actually doing what a short shifter should or is supposed to do

hell if you just want some new paint on it and you have an earl shiebs around you, you would be better off going to them. ive seen some horrific paint jobs come out of maaco. for some reason though people still go to them and they are still in business. i cant see how since they are one of the worst place to get any real work done to your car. you would be better off in the long run going and getting a quality paint job. better yet you would be more likely to do a better paint job then them even if you had no experience. just say no:finger:

just pull the housing apart and remove the turn signal stalk and then take it apart. sometimes well a lot of times the parts after t30 years do get worn. mine had a similar problem all it needed was cleaned and hence when put back together worked fine.

we need to see more pics, from what i can see though of the car it does look really nice and clean. i would think that you shouldnt have much to do. also from the looks it seems that restoration wont be that hard. great find!

well its still a little low, id try advancing the cam might bring it up just a bit. now that i know its fi, and you cant get it timed right or running to well the next thing i would check for is vacumn leaks. look hard and long and double check and double check again. they are hard to find, just make sure you go over all your hoses with a fine tooth comb

well if you have a 240Z then your compression readings are a bit low. have you adjusted valves and retested. thats something i would do. also on the white smoke is it thick or thin, if its thin and more grey to me that sounds like unburnt fuel. id adjust vavles and see if you get a better reading on compression, then maybe advance the cam, also while your in there once your sure everything is good, valve adjust compression, check your timing as well too. then adjust your carbs and see what results you have when all is right.

99.95% of the time its a lean condition that causes this. id go with 2many's advice
  18. yes you would have to either cut the backing plate for the calipers to fit and or remove it completly thanks for that reminder
  19. hey guys if the volume would be good for this swap, with the 4 piston calipers, 300ZX vented rotors, and spacer. i was also thinking of selling this swap if i would get a good response on this as well. the price complete would be about 325, it should be a close guestimate as i havent priced out spacers yet. i also need to find the longer bolts to do the job of mounting it together. would anyone here be interested in this also or?? give me a heads up of what you think and if its a good price worthy or not. hehe i was just looking at msa's catalouge, they want 395 for what im selling:cross-eye hmmm think that you are getting ripped somewhere down the line:ermm: thats the other brake upgrade and not this one, though for a fee of about 60 more dollars i could include stainless steel lines too :devious: anyway give me your thoughs on this upgrade and let me know what you guys think price wise and if anyone would want this upgrade thanks
  20. no discount for you!!
  21. i can get as many as needed. so if you will want them later down the road ill have them:classic:
  22. thats the one you want, the bend is right and its great!!
  23. for the price i quoted these are ready to bolt on, all you have to do is bleed the brakes what im selling comes with everything you need! all you do is the work to put them on:ermm: the calipers are not used but new remanufactured units. all you have to do is bolt them to your car, bleed them out and voila you are done.
  24. that would do the job or purchasing a quaife would definetly do the job + it would be warrantied and you wouldnt have to go threw so much to make it work. another option ive seen and it seems to fit and work well is the corvette IRS rear suspension. there is a guy over at hybridZ.org that has done that to his 10 sec street driven Z!
  25. though i dont know why in gods name someone would put those horrible looking wire basket wheel covers over top of some nice 5 slot aluminum wheels. price seems to be a bit steep to me though concidering its not all original
