MSA Header problem
Didnt have a problem with fitment though, and still had enough room for the heat shield. Personally I like the 6 into 1 myself.

Everything just goes so well together. Its like it all matches everywhere and the work is definetly top notch. Notice how clean the paint and body work are. I cant find any flaws at all in the work they have done. I just love it:love:

just bought new 280zxr
The ZXR is not really that special but then again it is. Its special in that only 1000 were made and they are getting harder and harder to find. They had a huge wing on the rear that actually worked quite well and wasnt just there for looks, it was used to homologate(sp?) the wing on Nissans racers. Thats the special part about it. THe rest of the car is just like any other N/A ZX. All parts will swap as long as they are coupes.

headlight covers....
If you know someone in the states that could order them for you from MSA or something. I see them on ebay a lot but they are used and go for what MSA sells them for new. Maybe someone will let you send them a money order and order them for you and ship them to you. Sorry best suggestion I can think of.

280zxTurbo Crank trigger needed fast!
Splicing a few wires and yes though it does have to be from a turbo car. Ill check into what needs to be done exactly for your. You can ususally find distributors on ebay.

280zxTurbo Crank trigger needed fast!
You should have a good selection of Z cars in the yards that you could pull parts from. If you do and can, I would suggest going to the 82-83 distributor with the CAS in the distributor.

Suspension Techniques help please
One most all of my Z cars Ive used SST springs and sway bars and never had a problem with fitment. Hope you find the cause of your problem.

Rear end
A V8 Z is by no means front heavy. This is a misconception, rumor, whatever you wish to call it started by purists. The full back position closest to the firewall gives an very good front and rear weight ratio. Unless you only plan to drag the car I wouldnt go with a Ford 9 inch. There is the R230 conversion from the Z32 300Zx that is stronger then the Ford 9 inch and will also help keep the independent suspension. You can find the information on the conversion at www.hybridZ.org Just use theyre search feature. As meandmyZ stated though you will have to upgrade to a better brake system and you will need to stiffen the chassis via roll cage and some front structual work. Stronger springs and larger tires will also be another thing to look at unless you want to be spinning your tires off all day long. If you have the money most things are easily done, the more you can do yourself the better. I would take a look at the hybridZ site and also www.jagsthatrun.com site, so you can get bette aquanted with what you will be getting yourself into so you will be better prepared when you start you convesion.

What could be wrong with my SU's?
I would first check my float levels and make sure they are accurate.. You might want to clean them up too. Mostly if you are haveing spillage it is due to incorret float levels and or the needle staying open. A rebuild of them may be in yoru future.

flat tops and round tops
They have larger venturis and do flow better but then they have all the emmissions garbage and things that make them more compicated then necessary. The round tops are simply better for lack of sophitication, a simple easy to tune and balance carb that will make great power threw the L6. With all things said and done the earlier carbs are the better carbs and carb of choice.

Clutch problems?
Easier if you can take the wheel and drum off. If so at the bottom of the brake assembly you will see a notched wheel. That is your adjuster. You want to adjust it to where your drum slightly drags against the brakes. Simply turn it either in or out, out tighter, in loose on the adjustment. It should spin but not freely as in if you spin it it wouldnt stop. Id say adjust it to if your wheel is on that it will spin about 6 or more revolutions and stop.

Has this site gone South?
I see people complaining and wanting things to be done and want to run this site "theyre" way. Lest the ones that are really going overboard, you know who you are, want to start your own site then let Mike do his job. I think this. This is no "asssssssskissing" as Mperdue put it, but this is MIKES site! This is what he has made and this site has grown thanks to his efforts to start this site and take time out of his day to maintain it. Without Mike starting this site, no one would be here to complain and what not or whatever. Now that the site has grown, thanks to all that visit and contribute, it has grown even larger. Do a search on "google" for 240Z or datsun sites. This site is up in the top 10. To me that says a lot. Its also due to the idea and efforts of one man that started this, and then to all that have contributed. Remember in the end it is Mikes site and he will see fit to direct it in whichever way he does see fit. If anyone doesnt like where the site is going they can go off and fund theyre own site to make just what they feel it should be. Me, personally I like it a lot here, lots of good people and lots of laughs and hell, Ive even made a few friends here. Thats what makes me like this site, that we can all get along, we dont act like the anal cavaties that sometimes make Zcar.com, which used to be a good site, go bad. Just like was said, keep it all Z. Enjoy life, live happy and drive your Z.

Clutch problems?
Check for free play with the wheels up in the air. Then from there check to see if your rear brakes need adjusted or freed if the car has been sitting for a while. Then move on to the differential and so on.

extra horse power from fancy sparkplugs
Hls30 says it best of all, get a good set of plugs (NGK) that suit the need of your car. I run NGK coppers in my turbo application. I go one step colder then stock, and that does help contrary to what one member has said as it helps keep detonation down in my application. If your not buring all the fuel on a N/A application and you do have the car set up to move the amount of air needed to use that extra fuel then a hotter set of plugs will work well too. One other point HLS30 makes that is a great point too is on the wires. Bad wires and or leaking wires will seriously reduce the productivity of your plugs and ignition system.

Intermittent Clutch Problem
But he forgot one thing, just like your brakes your clutch needs a good line as well. The clutch hose can collapse just the the brake hose. You should be replacing that with your slave cylinder if you do. Besides that I would follow 2manys advice to the letter.

finally spring need z related advice
1. I like the 79-80 280ZX distributor upgrade as compared to the petronix. Most others will say the petronix, but Ive always used the ZX distributor with great results and never any problems and ease of installation. 2. A GOOD set of spring compressors. PB Blaster for bolts that may be rusted. 3. www.suspension.com Bar none the cheapest place around, talk to Bruce
