Does putting a small block chevy in a Z drop it's value?
has a 280ZXT stroked with a T-5 and well lets just say lots of work. in any event hes putting 400+ to the ground. this is a daily driver too. ill find his web page and post it if you like almost forgot, with the stock internals and fuel management 250-275 is not very far out of reach at all for the ZXT motor

beautiful Z in the making
and at about 3500 for all thats done if its proven with reciepts is a very good deal for a little bit of work that you would have to put into it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2404401391&category=6187

Does putting a small block chevy in a Z drop it's value?
depends on who your selling it too. i have owned V-8 Zs never a 240 though. honestly imo if you have a good clean example of a early 240Z, then i would keep it that way. it will be worth moer. but at the same time you have others that prefer a modified, v-8 Z and the like. if i were going to do anything to it for more power i would use a 280ZXT engine. that way it stays nissan

Pricing on a 280 z motor

starting the 240
like you said when you hooked up the NEW battery BOOSTER you were giving the battery all the power it should have stored for when you go to start the car. i would tend to agree with mike on this one

fuel injection?
QUOTE "ps...You're going to get a whole buncho of people calling you stupid and idiotic for considering FI as it is a stupid idea that is 'untunable' and 'unmodifiable' and 'weak' and "why bother" when you can put on carbs or triples and get "ten times the power for ten times less money" and on and on and on. BE STRONG, MY FRIEND! Don't listen to anybody who uses a choke on a regular basis." well whoever says this has no idea of how a car works or what works best. there is NO way and i mean NO WAY carburetion will ever win out over fuel injection. just doesnt happen. also, ill quote this too, why fuel injection when you can get webers, well webers cost 1250, hmmm and sds fuel system costs 1395. i dont see much difference for a much better fuel delivery system at all. carbs no offense to anyone are for people that dont want to take the time to learn fuel injection and or are hard pressed to the old ways. injection is the way to go and there are so many ways to tune its not funny. id go with the injection. but if your going fuel injected then go turbo damnit !!!:devious:

starting the 240
but it does make it easier is getting rid of the points for a electronic distributor for much easier starting. also are you choke cables still hooked up and working properly. when i started mine to run it in the cold having the chokes adjusted and working right helped a lot. usually no more then 2 tries

Blasphemy!?
the supra tt in a Z is true i saw it myself. the car sold for only 13 or 14k i cant remember. monster of a machine. also as far as your rotary question it does work and it can be done and has been done. a bettter bet depending on where you are and a easier swap is a sr 20 or sr20det swap

Intake Manifolds.
they do have larger runners and flow somewhat better but the fact or the lack there of that they give you 10 hp is a joke. maybe on a very highly modified engine, but if your looking for just a touch more you will get it from the N36 intake, it is a better choice.

Limited Edition Z Car?
there was also the 79 280ZXR, only 1000 made so that they could use that huge wing on the rear of the car. though it is completely functional hehe see my photo insert. much like the Zap Z, it was nothing special besides the wing and the sticker package.
