Goodbye sunroof
honestly to make the job right and to have the car right again a good donor roof is necessary. you will never get the roof right again without loads of bondo or the like. i had inquired at several shops about this becase of a good deal on a 240 with a sunroof. i was told either buy one without a sunroof or transplant. the idea i had with welding a piece in and fix to make it look good does work but. what happens is welding and heat take out more of what having a sunroof in the car already did.. i was told it could never really be right not matter how good it does look. james

No rust! Now what?
its that thick about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick black goo that is sitting on your floor. i had some light surface rust underneath that on my 71 as the previous person stated take it off and por 15 it. i used a heat gun to make it softer and it peeled right up and there were some spots of surface rust there. nothing significant though. you have a nice clean car keep it that way and take care of that easy rust now before it becomes a 1000 dollar job later

coil-overs or no?
i agree with 2MZ's that eibach does have a good spring but if you go to www.shox.com you can get yourself into a complete tokick set up with springs and shocks for a excellent price. i have had tokico adjustables before and they are great, and you cant find better for the money. konis are also very good but they want a mortage out of your house just to buy them

300 ZX engine in a 240?
which is the 1990-1996 the n/a version had 222 at the crank and the turbo pushed out 300 at the crank one convert that i saw that fit well and looked fantastic was the use of the MKIII version or the 1987-1992 toyota supra engine. your still straigh six en it, 200 hp at the crank on the n/a, and 232 at the crank on the turbo. supra sixes make very easy and streetable hp to the 500 hp range though that might be a bit much in a small Z either way it is a great combo no matter what route you choose. just remember both the 84-89 nissan 3.0 and the 90-96 3.0 have very and i mean very expensive parts. 90+ na tbelt parts alone $354, why, no one else carries them, hardly, at least the important things like the tensioner that your required to replace, $129, water pump, $98, so you see where your money really goes . i have seen a 78 280Z with a Z32 tt, that was one AWESOME machine

new fuse block
has anyone ever done this. I had thought that someone had done this before to there Z. Meaning that taking the old style fuse block out and switching it to a newer style fuse block with the plug in fuses. If so what type or from what car did you use the new block? Anybody here know of this or know someone or somewhere that has done this Thanks James
