something else you may want to do is also check your torque settings on your bolts i found after a few days of driving the car they tend to work there way loose again.

K&N Air filter systems
and totally agree with you carguyinok what he also says is he was at a dirt track. "dirt" being the operative word here. if you notice also for just that type of scenario k and n also sells blankets for your filters and they also have a foam blanket wrap for racers in that situation. go from experience not what everyone tells you:finger: that article is taking up :dead: space

couple of probs with my 5/71 240Z
i did have leaks at the line fixed those no help. still gets the eratice idle. i tried using the vacumn gauge that you use for bleeding brakes. i could get no vacumn at all from the booster. looks like the booster is bad. when i push the breaks the pedal goes straight to the spot where the piston seems to stop in the master cylinder then the front brakes i can feel this grab immediately and harshly.

z cars, small blocks, 5 speeds, etc.
been there done that. had the V8 Z. it was good it was nice. sounded good handled well had good power, i had a aoutmatic. youw ould need low gears for the rear to run a 5 speed or you will be burning out clutches and or tires. i like the V8 it was fun and fast but just wasnt a Z. it was tainted . i am by far a purist. after having my V8 for sometime i got my 72 and worked wiht what i had. P30 block and a E88 head. 79 5 speed. well i worked that motor to keep up respectively with 5.0 ltr V8's. loved it very much and honest it was more fun then the V8 this is just my opinion. Now this turn around im going turbo, BW T-5, 3 inch exhuast, RR FPR, FMIC, bigger fuel pump, injectors, BOV, upping the boost to about 15 psi and keeping those nasty lil V8's at bay. if you wanna feel some nice good raw power drive a 3.0 straight six turbo @ 23#'s of boost. thats fun turbo is for me if youve never done it try it see how you like it.

couple of probs with my 5/71 240Z
first one is how can you tell if the master cylinder or booster is bad. what happens is the brake pedal has a lot of free travel the bang brake and its hard too. ive bled them several times using a vacumn bleeder and the pump and release method. still same thing. nothing lot of free travel the hard hard pedal like im at the end of the cylinder as far as it will go the brake. sometimes its good brake sometimes not. also the engine revs up then back down inbetween where i start to feel brake for a sec and when it hits full brake second. what would cuase the speedometer to stop working all of a sudden. i mean this literally. drove around for about 25 minutes no problem. stopped to get some gas, started it up went out of the parking lot of the station and now no speedometer. i have put it on the lift yet but out of nowhere its gone. from looking under the car everything is still hooked up. didnt do anything under the dash where the cable hooks up and i can see its still attached. what gives. thanks for any help anyone can give. if on the brakes its the booster it figures that was the only part i didnt save off of my 72:disappoin also if its the speedo cable just went bad the thats the second bad thing cuz i just cut it when i pulled the 5 speed out of it:tapemouth

E88 not the best head?
like anything with performance comes money. i like the early E88 head on a F54 block. port polish the head polisht the combustion chambers, insert larger valves ss steel seats, a good cam and you have a great gas pump ready engine that will kick some arse

Fuel regulator
i had a terrible problem with dual webers on my 72 i had. the problem was the electric fuel pump pushing to much to my carbs. i know that webers only like between 2.5 to 3.5 max of pressure or you get serious tuning probs.
