Ive been on it a couple of times already, I didnt have any problems and still use my original login and username.
  5. Its always good to have someone remind you of something you have forgotten:stupid:
  6. Are easier to clean up, none the better or worse for flow. With the modest 300hp you are looking for either would be fine. Its when you get to 400 that you are looking for custom manifolds.

Its not that hard, just need some mounts and what not, I dont prefer the V8 in a Z as much like I used to though there are some respectable set ups. Do a search on google for jags that run, gives you the low down on all you need to know if you buy the book. Another good place to go is to HybridZ.org, though I think theyre site will be down till Monday sometime for maintenance.

One thing that keeps sticking in my mind about them is the fact that they refuse to ever admit that they are wrong. Best price for a urethane kit Ive ever seen is at www.suspension.com, spring and shock, strut kits at www.shox.com Suspension Techniques sells sway bars for our cars at a relatively inexpensive price too. I had a 72 240Z, with SST springs Tockiko struts, SST sways and the Energy Suspension urethane kit, it handled better then anything I had ever driven, on H rated tires. I had no fear of going full speed at or in any twities. Tep over at Zcar has about a 50/50 love hate relationship, some love them some hate them.

Thats another thought in itself. You may just have a sticking piston in the carb, causing them to become unbalanced. Clean your carbs up too while your at it.
  11. Thats not the problem, the problem lies in the pistons and rings on the NA block, thats why it is better to go with the turbo block. No other reason. Honestly though the time you would take to do and gather all that you need for the conversion you could easily have a complete turbo motor. I dont see the point.
  12. A set of crank and rod bearings, new rings and of course seals, and gaskets.

If I had the money Id be on in it in a heart beat.

Shave the side markes and lose the current rear spoiler you have, keep the air damn and the bumpers
  19. You can still get them from Nissan, do you have a spare first child though:cross-eye They are very expensive. Like hls30.com this summer I plan on doing almost exacly what he has done with his to try and restore them a little bit. If now I too will have to take the bath in vaseline for these pieces of rubber.

Probably like running twice pipes. Loud but god does it sound sooooooooooo good. :devious:
  21. It just isnt any good for high hp numbers. Anyone thats running 300+hp doesnt or will not use the HLA head. Parts are non existent as well. Its good for a stock or over sotck application, but for hihg hp numbers look at anyone thats puttin out high hp numbers and running th P90 and you will see. None want the P90a

I have that little notation below my name "the outcast ZXT owner" hehe

But you would have to fashion mounts and the like for the motor and the transmission. The rear wont be a problem though. If your looking for just getting a turbo into your car it would be easier and a LOT LESS costly to go with the L28ET out of a 280ZXT. Either way you decide good luck and do take a look at HybridZ.org, a good place for people doing converts to the Z and ZX.
  24. Areas to check, Frame rails, floor pans inside and out. Rear dog legs, inside and out Rear hatch area Wheel wells front and rear Battery box area, under the bonnet and inside the wheel Rocker panel and the same area inside the car. Look for repaint and if you find a repaint see why it was done, search for bondo. Check suspension, most people never replace the very old and worn rubber bushings, good buying point something YOU have to replace. Check the steering rack for wear, wheel for play another buying point. If you have a compression test kit, take it along with you as well. Check the oil in the car to see what it looks like, also the antifreeze as well. From this you should be able to determine the state in which the car was maintained. And of course drive the car. Make sure the transmission shifts smothly, no rear clunks or noises. Just more buying points. Good luck with your purchase.
