Z Dizzy's
just make sure to get everything! you know that little piece that attaches it to the block as well for an easy as dropping it in swap. then just make sure your at TDC and line the wires up. also you will need to remove your ballast resistor as you will no longer need it. its a good and easy swap and i personally like it lots. remember to get the whole assembly though, if you dont you will have heart ache trying to line it up good luck

How do you clean your car?
except the clay bar. i also used to make sure all craks and jams were clean, under the wheels windexing and wiping down the springs and struts. getting under the hood and doing the engine bay. i was quite anal but not as much now. just do the three step wash, cleaner wax, mirror glaze, then gold class carnuba, and i use meguires. it is true thow when you first go threw this it hurts but once you get it down to the nitty gritty and you have that good coat of wax on it, its easy to keep looking top notch. oh by the way, no pics?????

Clutch Problem?
with the problem of getting it in gear have you serviced the tranny yet with new gear oil and looked at and or replaced the slave cylinder and hose. you may be maybe not trying to start off at to low an rpm when taking off. if you feel there is a problem and there is vibration check the outside components first. ie drive shaft and ujoints. could be where that vibration is coming from. also do you know when the clutch was changed last. might just be time for a new one

hehe fuel pump sh*t the bed tonight
the worst thing of all is when i got the thing home and in the garage, what i found out to be the problem was the ground quit grounding. it was really strange, how this occured, no rust in the original ground area and the original wire was still good. i chalk that up to electrical gremlims at work.

hehe fuel pump sh*t the bed tonight
well i had fun tonight. i pulled into the local sheetz (convenience and gas station) for those that dont know. well everything was all fine and well with the car till i get done doing what i had to do then i hop in and was ready to go. well so i thought:ermm: i start the car, she fires right up then bluh bluh bluh and done. im sitting there thinking ok what just happened:cross-eye then i notice i dont hear the fuel pump running, great!! so i hop out, this is like the local young person hangout in town too, i have the hood up and everyones looking, i get under the car to check the connections, all is well, check the relays all is well so im like ok whats going on here:stupid: pull the power wire to the fuel pump and hook it direct. well there is nothing its dead. so with attitude now that my car is stranded and everyone looking i call my father in law. he has a laugh at my expense, then comes up with some wire cutters some wire, the fuel pump, and a few other misc. tools. after a little bit of cussing i plug in the alternate fuel pump right below the fuel filter, turn it on let the rail fill up and off i go. :cheeky: all it all it was a fairly good ordeal, got a lotta comments on the car, hehe as it was sitting there inoperable.:tapemouth

help Z won't idel
first check for any vacumn leaks, check timing, set carbs to a general run position meaning like a come from the factory position have you also made sure all thing are functioning properly, ie fuel pump, filters clean, your getting spark or it wouldnt start. do a basic rundown, of the norm things that would cause it not to run, then see what happens and keep us posted

air flow meter
and the turbo afm will flow more. all you would have to do is switch the internals. and can you tell me why this wouldnt help. especially if you open up the tb and still have the small and restricted afm of the n/a engine blocking what you tried to open up and give more flow.
- front air dam

needed one or two brake drums
but they are cleanable and turnable. if you would like to have them just pay the shipping and they are yours.

Carbs?
the dgv's if jetted properly will give you great performance. i had a 72 with them and they were really good till about 5500-6000 rpms, then they would lose power to what seemed to be lack of fuel. i think if i had played with the jetting they would be an excellent carb to use but personally from a stand point for more performance you would be better off with a set of dual su's, not to say the webers arent good. but to get the proper set up with the right jets and so forth can get expensive quick. whatever you do stay away from the 4barrel set up. its just worthless, in my opinion. the triples wont do squat for you except suck up loads of gas unless you have the engine to use them.

the new cavalier siR
was the most hilarious thing i have ever seen in my life. a 96+ cavalier with the cheby emblem removed and in its place siR. it was hysterical i couldnt help but laughing. i think i mad the guy mad too. at the light he revved it to about 5k and tired to burm out and couldnt so in the clutch went again till i would assume about 6k and he got a little bit of a chirp. worst yet is he wanted to race after that. god i tell you it was to funny if you could only have seen it all you would be roflyfao. the things you see on the road today

One of our own in bad accident
though i love the Z its as you all must admit, a rolling coffin. not really much of anything to protect you from any one on the road today. good luck fstr, lets hope you dont look as bad as you car. those things of material can be replaced, your life cannot, speedy recovery to you and prayers to keep you strong. good luck, take care, were all wishing you well here

who is in the know??
i was searching for a 87-89 Z31 turbo differential and during my search at one of those parts locator places the guy that was on the phone tells me that the infiniti M30 90-93 has a R200 LSD just like the Z31 turbos if this were true that would mean a new source for LSD's but i have yet to find anyone that can verify this. is there anyone out there that knows if this is true or not. i was told if it wasnt that they would pick up all shipping charges but its the hassle i dont want to go threw with and i have found a different source that has them much cheaper. can anyone here tell me if this is true or not? thanks for any assistance

finally opened up the ZXT
to bad it was on a 92 chevy camaro z28 hehe. seems though that well i dont know if its just my car, or the way that the ZXT is but taking off was rather slow with the redline coming quick. 2nd was really good and i pulled right on him and third was just WOW!! left him in the dust eating fuel enrichened exhaust. for some reason though i dont see why people say they are slow, and why persons would say that the T5 is a sloppy shifter with the gears being hard to find. ive found the the tranny shifts incredibly smoothe, a little notchy between the gears like say a ferrari or the like but i like that. that trans is nice and tight i like them. i now also know what 13# of boost feels like as well, sweeeeeeeeeet! though as i blew by that camaro, i dont think he liked the rather evil grin on my face either, not to shabby for a car with 175K on the odometer. i cant complain on bit about my 2500 dollar ZXT its one mean little machine. now all i need is more booooooooost!! hehe. only thing i found that i did not like of what the prior owner did was using the starion ic. i can see that the piping and the ic itself is a bit of a bottle neck and thats the first thing to go on the list of new things to do. im hoping this motor will last a little while till i get the other motor right that i had for my 240Z gotta say i give a big thumbs up to the 280ZX
