  1. after my core i paid 81.00 for my brakes total. that was new springs pins and brakes. you might as well say a loaded caliper. see thats what i dont get when i see them being sold for so much its that that expensive to do. its like the maxima machined braket for the rear disc conversion they want 150!!!!!!! for some brakets. you could buy them new for less then half. just goes to show what some people are willing to spend for being lazy and not doing some research

going from la i took 40 most of the way. keeping your eyes open and ready for the road is the biggest problem. the main thing i think it is, is my love for driving. you must stay refreshed. thats a big thing. whenever i would feel tired, id go to the next rest stop. stretch a bit. go in wash my face and refresh myself. my favorite thing to have for some reason i guess its like a religion is drinking sobe drinks. from 40 there were small inbetweens then to 70 on home. i drove only about 6 hours the first night. the next day at 6am i left out to drive 17 hours each of the next two days. sleep time was about 4 hours a night max. i just dont really know. when i get out on the road like that i get supercharged. driving across country isnt for everyone. me though i love it. made a couple of trips from way down south florida to pa in 19 hours eheheeh. i guess i just get pumped up for the drive and go go go.. like i said its not for everyone. i would just feel funny with my car on a truck and worrying about it the whole time its coming home. i did ship one car threw a carrier to a individual i sold it threw on ebay. he said the car arrived about 7 days later without any problems. so he had a good experience . personally on that note i couldnt tell you.
  4. hehe enough said Z me :stupid: fly

from la to pittsburgh 2547 miles. trust me its fun easy and no other better way to enjoy your car. plu you said 4 days???? it took me 44 hours over 2 and one half days. dont worry be happy enjoy it and do it.
  6. here we go again. dont put a german made plug for german cars in your japanese car. that bosch plug is the biggest joke on the market one electrode and 4 tips. well geuss what, you only get one spark. to go to one place each time that plug is fired. you could have 20 tips it wouldnt make a difference. all it is is a gimmick to make you spend more money. plain and simple you have two choices of plugs NGK or Denso Iridium no other period end of it. if you want to use bosch parts get a BMW
  7. 18 inch wheels and the Z31 R 200 rear please contact me
  8. if you know what teflon is or what it is commonly referred to as PTFE, just do a google search on the subject or that and internal combustion engine and ptfe or teflon. it is something that you dont want in your car. unless you want to take the chance of ruining it. me never use it never will good oils in my book petroleom(sp?) based, castrol, mobile synthetics only one that i use or like is mobile one oh i almost forgot your trusting the parts guy:finger: never ever trust the parts guy, he is there to sell you the highest priced part he can. not necessarilly the best for your car. i used to part time at a parts place. its funny how many people you see buying plugs that dont match there car. ie Bosch in mitsubishi's or nissans, autolites in toyotas, (though i think they make a good plug), its silly. NGK's were made for your car. split fires are a joke and do nothing for your performance or gas mileage. i had them in the Z i bought in cali, as soon as i got hom new NGK's. guess what nothing changed except it ran a little better and my mileage did not suffer. always remember this. a spark can only travel to one point at a time. thats why i think Bosch's +4's are the biggest joke on the market. but hey thats just me. people will glady throw away 5 bucks a plug just because someone says there good.
  9. especially when you know you can beat someone. im not going to lie i have done it. im not alone or am im not to be called just as stupid for the same reason. i found the hard way out from a friend that met the side of concrete bridge because of the guy he was racing decided he wanted to pass in on coming traffic. car was coming and he cut my buddy off. luckily all he had were bruises and scratches. he could have been dead or threw the window. i takes control because i still want to race every now and then. when i still had my V8 Z, i did take it to the track and embarass a few individuals. my best run was 12.95 @ 105.75 mph. i guess what happens is you grow up see whats happening around you and realize that your not immortal anymore.
  10. number one. drag racing is stupid period end of it. nmber two. castrol syntec is not sythetic oil. it is highly refined dyno oil. number three. SPLITFIRES:stupid: tell me you didnt say that. remove that garbage from your car before it spits them out at you. get NGK!!!!!!!! number four. you bought wires at wal mart???? now tell me what possesed you to do that.???? sorry about ragging but man o man. learn that your car deserves better.
  11. i have to say that i do want the car and i was going to get it, but we have someone in our midst that is Zless i just cant see getting another Z when one of our brothers is without. it just brings a tear to my eye. so i will do my best to make sure that coastgaurd Z finally has one and gets to change is signature. :classic:
  12. http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3pqx7/rothm/index.htm 1000 or best offer. guy needs to get rid of it this weekend. i was thinking maybe if no one takes it i could snatch it up for about 850. it hasnt ran in over 10 years though:cry: but it lookes to be in great shape for the money. hehe get it running and resell it for my 71 r just start over again tell me your opinions. hey 2manyZ's you got the tow dolly ready ?????

you talked abou points of surface area i like this one because how much surface area do you think your getting at the inlet of your carbs or the inlet of your fi system it thats what your running. big hint no more then what is allowed in the engine from the intake side of the car. so i would guess that the carb inlet being about 1.75 inches in diameter at tops is all the surface area your getting. then your mentioning that foam may be better see carguyinok's post. foam sucks!!!. i had a 87 supra, got a hks foam filter that i paid over a 100 bucks for. guess what it took 3 weeks for that thing to get flithy and i mean filthy. wanna know something else. only took 2 months for it to fall apart and that was noticing this from the outside of the fliter since the HKS incident i have run nothing but K and N filters on all my cars. no one that i know that runs them has ever had a problem. that is ever. ive used them for eh bout 7 years now. i havent had one problem with them at all

that blue one looked to be in fantastic shape. shame to see that
  15. there is no way and i mean no way i would pay what its at right now unless it was in perfect condition. 10K not hardly. looking at all of his pics i can point out several inperfections that would not warrant that price. more then likely the car is also going on 127 or 227k. if its not documented miles forget it. just blowing wind up someones arse

they sound like an angry set of bees going down the road. you could have an exhaust made for what you would pay to get the monza system.

would a later ZX brake booster work or should i say fit. and would it be worth it to upgrade to that booster and master cylinder or just get the stock booster replaced with the later ZX master cylinder
  20. i bought mine in california:D
  21. 6 inot one and msa twice pipes. love the sound and love the performance.
  22. you dont get much hp. id go for a rb engine myself. plus like 2many said timing belt issues. ive had a couple my first lasted quite a long time. the other two i had had bottem end probs.
  23. changing oils constantly isnt a good idea. from what motor quest says. its a book we get in the shop all the time. chaning oils is like changing blood. everyones oil is slightly different. i stick with one oil and use it all the time and a good fram filter. as far as restore goes. i would put anything in my engine that you have to shake if it settles while on the shelf imagin what it does inside your engine. like 2many said keep your oil changes frequent and steady. save it for a rebuild and do it right the first time. its always better for you in the end

style one:love: style two looks horrid and like somepone else said looks like something you would find on an american car. also style one promotes better cooling and looks imho. but you know how that goes opinions are like arse holes everyone has them. but in all retrospect i would stick with style one. better looks better cooling. just a better looking wheel style two looks like something you would find on a S-10
