Anyone know of a place that sells the oval plastic seat adjuster covers for the early Z's ? I need a new drivers side cover.
  2. After rebuilding mine several times it had finally come to a point where I needed a new one. I looked around the net but all I found was a new bottle with pump for something like $80.00 ! I thought why not try the obvious and call Shucks, they've surprized me before by having parts for older cars I own. The guy at Shucks said that they carry a full line of Trico Super Pumps and the one that was listed for my 72 240Z was their "universal" pump. Well I really wanted the stock pump so I got on the Trico web site just to see what they had available. Much to my amazment, Trico carries a pump that is identical to my original Datsun part, the Trico part number is 11-601 and it says that it is for Honda cars only, go figure. Actually, there is a slight difference, the black wire has a spade connector and it need to be a female type, that took about 2 seconds to fix. I put it in and it works great, it was the last thing on my car that didn't work so I'm real happy to have found it. Anyhow, if you're in need of a new stock washer pump, you can easily get one for $27.00 from any autoparts store that carries Trico pumps.

Thanks, it's a work in progress, but it's getting close to being where I want it. They're actually early 80's Enkei wheels. I wish I could find a couple more of them to use as back-ups, but they seem to be hard to find. I live in Woodinville WA.

Yeah I saw it, man what a smack ! You could see all of the misc. bits and pieces go flying off into the water on the other side of the guard rail. So sad

This may not be your problem, but then again it might. If the carbs are set too lean, you will get a stumble when you open the throttle quickly. The method I use to set the mixture is to take the air cleaner off and using a small screw driver I lift up the dash pot in one carb, or the other about 1/4". The RPM's should rise quickly then fall off. Generally, if they fall off right away it's too lean, if they rise quickly, but drop down slowly, they're too rich. Make sure both carbs have the same sort of rise and fall time. Hope that helps. :classic:

Thanks for responding, That was the one site I found, but I don't think their $61.95 shock tower kit has the diamond pattern, and their complete kit is that does is too expensive IMHO. Anyone else sell it ? Shock Tower & Wheel Wells 61.95 per kit Complete ( 70 - 73 ) Diamond Cut Kit = 239.95 per kit
