  1. Thank you, I ordered one rebuilt from Z-car-source and that will get here in week to 10 days, and a guy on FB sold me one a week ago, but it hasn't arrived yet ? A lot of money to remedy this problem, but my car is so original, I'd just like to bite the bullet and see what comes of it.
  2. I have a Redlinegoods Saddle color E-brake boot for a first gen S30 Z. Brand new with installed snaps ! Leather Replacement for the standard black vinyl.
  3. I was able to find one by one the Zcar suppliers in AZ, called them, nice guy answered the phone, ask about it and he said they have One, and it's rebuilt, so at $212.00 pricey, but I think this might be my best way to go. I thought I read somewhere that there are some 'Rebuilders' who could tackle something like this. I did my best to plumb the rebuilding waters, but I couldn't find anything. I suppose Covid-19 and the last 2 years of inaction on every sector of the automotive marketplace and since gas here in SE PA hit 4.57.9 a gallon today, the entire auto marketplace is in a state of flux right now. And at my age I'd like to be more positive about a price of a gallon of Gasoline, but nothing I read or see indicates a lower prices anywhere on the future horizons. And today I got my New-to-me E-brake boot to match the new shift boot. . . . and guess what, . . . .
  4. Well I have a test-light and a jumper wire, but I'm pretty sure this one is toast, I cleaned it up with some carb cleaner and let it dry in the sunlight, but it still is motionless ? I believe replacement with a known good unit is the best path forward. It takes all of 4 minutes to swap out this valve, I think a rebuilt unit would settle my worries ! But there is only one place I found who even have this item ! Looking in the valve, you can see it's locked in halfway ?
  5. Well an unexpected problem, The valve from the UK did not pan out, so I'm back at the starting gate with my shot Datsun/Nissan 22660-N4210 air regulator valve. There is 0 extra units out there, and only 2 that seem to be workable, one at $212.00 and a Ebay unit at $175.00 and it's rebuilt, I hope. And this is not something I can put off, without it the old 280Z stays in the garage ? what to do, what to do ?
  6. I just used the car in my post as reference to the ANCO bar on it.
  7. Hi Zed , I was trying to keep the search as simple as possible, and i was able to find a cross interchange list of the part under different manufacturers. Here is the cross interchange list:http://www.kakapart.com/oem/partscrossinterchange/nissan-22660n4210
  8. View Advert Looking for a AMCO rear bumper chrome trim rail for a 1975 280Z I've been hunting for a rear AMCO I believe is the correct name of the company who produced these chrome bumper trim or 'over rider' bars, I was able to find one in pretty nice condition, and I saw one recently on Ebay (But it needs to be striped and re-chromed) which will cost more than the item itself. But I suppose re-chroming might be inevitable, But I really like to find a rear bar in Ok condition I can polish it and match my front trim bar. I'm kinda a stickler for originality, I've been able to find 3 sets of date correct steel wheels 6/74 8/77 and 8/79 and 2 sets of original 75 Hubs caps. I personally like the appearance of the 14" wheels and hubcaps. but if I could score a rear AMCO trim bar that would be great ! 9. Well, as odd as these things can get, I actually found one, or so, but I found it, 'New' in United Kingdom at a Figaro, yeah a Nissan Figaro dealership. a Really nice young man running the parts department has them, but under a totally different part number and I decided to throw all concern to the wind and take a chance on it, what the hell, it's only 3000 miles away. but I was a little worried about the electrical connector, and he said it's only a two wire connector, so . . . . It'll be here next week ?
  10. I think I have narrowed down my faulty cold idle problem with your help and the FSM to a erroneous Air Regulator Valve, but finding a replacement is proving much the task. Every where I look I'm met with "No longer available". . . "Part Discontinued" . . . "Used, Maybe good, Maybe no good". So I thought that perhaps these air regulator valves might be rebuildable ? If so, does anyone know about this, or have you gotten one rebuilt ? If so, by whom and how, and where ? This Nissan #22660-N4210 is an elusive part to find, any help is apricated. 🤥
  11. Hi, If the engine is shut down, is there any chance of damaging it ?
  12. Great help, I was wondering, if I have a vacuum leak, wouldn't the idle be increased not diminished ? Where is the Air regulator located and can I rebuild or clear the regulator ? Thank you,
  13. I have a "slight" starting problem, it fires right up, but idles low 500 to 600 RPM, and I went though my 1975 Datsun FSM and I believe the fault lies with the 'cold start valve' So being 75-85% sure of my diagnosis I plan on getting a fresh Cold Start Valve and see if I'm correct. If I have learned anything since my first introduction to the wide world of computers, as was taught by my elders, is 1. Only make one change at a time. That way you know right away if it worked or not, and can be reversed if necessary. So we will see, but it runs P.E.R.F.E.C.T once up to full temperature and now with fresh oil and a good filter it is almost silent in operation. Which has it's own sense of satisfaction in it's own right ! 😉

Good for you. I too, worked my whole life for people who couldn't care less if I was Ok or not. And some big wig Politicians. Once I was able to retire I jumped at it. If I could do it all over I'd start my own business or whatever, working for others only pays if your in charge of who you work for and how much they pay you. Once I retired I relaxed and in a pursuit to end the useless clutter on life, I ditched the cable Tv and went back to an old hobby I enjoyed, Reading. Don't ever sell yourself short. In the end, only you, your family and reality have a worthwhile relationship. God bless and good luck !
  15. I put a new battery and both cables in yesterday, (Close enough) But the old cables were shot and since the car and her cables are now 47 years old, a new set were ordered They need to be only 29 inches long, but now done it looks and starts up like lightening . . .
  16. No, I think my best direction is getting 'Classic' tags, that way I am not required to have the emissions test, but I still need to have the safety inspection done each year, which I find perfectly OK. It was last registered in 2012 in Michigan. So it has been sitting in a garage the last 10 years. Clean a whistle.
  17. Thank you, I was thinking last night, and my Z was undercoated by the dealer, now if it had a cat and a heat shield, then it wouldn't have been undercoated where the shielding was bolted on, but as you can see, mine was undercoated all the way through the cars tunnel. So perhaps it wasn't a California car after all ?
  18. Hay thank you Steve, very helpful. I don't seem to see the 'Floor warming warning light on my car ?
  19. Hay Thank you, I'm not sure if this was a CA car or not, but I don't have that big shielding on my car, I'll post a pic here in a minute, I think the car was saved by always being in a garage and the dealer optioned Undercoating. You can see it pretty clearly and I don't see the bolting for the shielding. I hired an appraiser/Inspector from the Hemmings motor news magazine to inspect it for me, and he said the brakes and clutch MC need replacing but he drove it a little and said he thought that this was a true 'Survivor' since the glass is and the headlight bulbs are still Japanese. I'm trying to figure out what the Cat shielding looks like and where I can find one. The car is in my garage, we got a snow storm yesterday. And wow, your car is mighty impressive !
  20. I doubt it ever saw rain for that matter. How do I tell if it's a federal or California car ?
  21. Oh no, I live just outside Philadelphia and the car was bought in MI and as far as I now know, it was in Michigan for all it's life till I bought it, but this car has a real 51907 miles on it. There isn't a single trace of rust. It's 2+2 but considering it's condition I would be an idiot not to buy it. I'm not sure, but I don't think it's a CA car. But here in PA, if it is newer than 1974 it needs to have the emissions equipment on and working.
  22. I'm sorry I was drawn away, yes I'm looking for the shielding above the cat between the cat and the tunnel.
  23. Yes Thank you, I bought that very cat last week, now I'm trying to find the Heat shielding. My 75280Z had it's cat deleted and it now has the resonator in it's place. I did find out that the car doesn't have a oxygen sensor, so that is not a problem, but the muffler is about to need replacing so I'm not sure about some of the exhaust systems parts. It's 47 years old , so . . . . ?
  24. I'm required by state law to install a CC on my 75 280Z. It was removed some time ago by a previous owner. Any idea what it looks like so I start hunting ? Thank you,
