  1. "Bond-onto-the-stock-metal-fenders" CF fenders ? :lick:
  2. ....
  3. Parts like the doors, hatch, fenders, etc - are going to the paint shop. The hood however, will probably 'just' get a couple of layers of clear coat. I'm building a bad arse Z, that's what I'm building
  4. I like your post, and your attitude for that matter I might come off as sour as a lemon, I'm not - I'm just annoyed by people going "Hey, there's this guy who makes it..." I really don't care about that since I have a sponsor, and wouldn't mind sharing the molds made. I'm having the entire doors made from carbon fiber - not just the sides. Interior panels might come into interest, since some of mine are cracked. Not sure if there's much gain in making these from CF instead of fiber glass.
  5. Please read post #14, or have someone read it to you. I'm NOT asking for people making parts alreay. I'm asking for parts that you want to have made from CF. Thanks.
  6. The price for a CF cowl-plate would be approx. US$370-400... (Spirit Garage charge US$560 assuming this is it: http://s-garage.hp.infoseek.co.jp/buhinsyasin/04.jpg ?) Plate will be made for LHD 240z. Sorry all aussies and brits. That's the only quote I got for now. More to come.

Anywhere I can get these under US$190 (new)? Anyone who has a used set for sale ? Cheers /Philip
  8. I can probably ship it though a speedshop that a friend of mine runs. They have a very good discount on UPS shipping SWE > US... Parts noted :classic:
  9. Depends on the weight. Don't know what a finished package will weigh yet. Don't know what the parts will weigh either - yet. I'm gonna travel down to the guy making the parts and leave my center console there for molds, so he can start with something... So hopefully before new years eve I'll have a new CF center console
  10. Yep, they'll be made in sweden.
  11. I was hoping it would after my 4:th post. Now spill your mind on parts you'd want to see made from carbon :classic:
  12. Yeah, and I can see people can write enough crap with their two hands to have my two eyes read it and have my one brain draw the conclusion that what I read was not what I asked for. I can't see any issues regarding my reaction in this case. I asked a simple question. If I wanted to know something else - I would've asked for it. Posting OFFTOPIC is naturally the perfect example of how to behave on a board. Sorry I must've missed out on that info when registering. Regarding my attitude: I assume you know the people posting their sales pitches since you appear teary eyed from my nonchalant replies. Why don't all of you (who think your carbon parts are the best) start your own thread? I could come tell you all about growing raspberries or something - as that would have as much connection to the topic as your posts in this thread. I speak my mind - so sue me...
  13. Haha Save 250 lb by switching to ACME windshield wipers! (Please note, to get the 250 lb saving - you need to remove the engine) :stupid: I wasn't asking for anyone to give a sales pitch in this thread anyway so go whine elsewhere yourself. Sheesh! :lick:
  14. A little over 10 years or so I think. Duuhhh! That's what I'd call false marketing? If the new fiberglass dash doesn't even have the vents etc - why would you keep the extra weight anyway? Might as well throw it out anyway and save 20 lb at no cost at all.. WTF??? Are you even reading what I'm writing?!? I'm getting custom CF-parts made by a guy that lives close to me - closer than f-ing Japan or the US anyway. I don't give 2 crappy cents if who-ever makes them in where-ever. I was asking if anyone wanted any part in particular made - not if everyone who's ever heard of some guy who knows a guy who makes CF for the Z's ... For crying out loud...! :stupid: edit: Sorry if I'm getting pissed off - but if I start a thread asking for people to post suggestions on parts than can be made from CF - I'm NOT requesting a rundown of people who are making standard parts already!!! ffs...
  15. I know. However, I'm not paying those amounts of money when I have a sponsor that can fix it cheaper. from PDK website: "That's a 40lb savings" I weighed my stock dash ('71 240z) and it weighed in at about 28.6 lb... How did you calculate the 40 lb saving?
  16. Good idea - I completely forgot about the cover for the viper motors! I haven't got any ZG-flares, sorry - can't make a mold unless I have whatever needs molding handy :stupid: Rear tail light panels - don't think they would be any problem... I have the stock euro (or was is US?) wing mounted on my hatch, so that might be of interest as well (for me anyways)
  17. I've been talking to a guy who makes carbon fiber and fiberglass - whatever you want basicly. I'm gonna have him make the center console in carbon to start with. But I don't think it's gonna stop there. When he mentioned hoods he's made that weigh 1.5 Kilograms, how could I not be tempted? Anyway - the parts I have in mind (maybe) getting are these: Hood Doors Rear hatch Front fenders Wishbones (either Carbon or Chrome Moly) Front/rear spoiler + side skirts Do you have any suggestions/interests on/in other parts? Once the molds have been made it wouldn't be entirely impossible to make some more for you guys. Not sure of pricing yet - but probably a bunch cheaper than the prices I've seen - like US$1300 for a pair of cr-mo wishbones or US$1200 for a hood, etc. So, if you're interested - let me know what you're interested in. My car is a '71 240z and that's what the molds will be made from... The process is somewhat of a secret, but the result is a lot like pre-preg carbon - light and tough. A layer of kevlar is also included to prevent the carbon from shattering if you're in an accident.

Just hit the reload button when you reach the "fatal error", that did the trick for me anyway...

  20. You should get some of these: http://www.biltema.se/Archive\Product_images\19\Huge\19-2248_h.jpg Don't know the translation for it... "screw/bolt extractor" ? You drill within the broken screw/bolt and then you put one of the extractor in and when you turn it counter clock wise it enters the drilled hole until it starts to extract the broken screw/bolt. They're cheap too, less than $3 here in Sweden.

yeah, I do, or well... the car does

Scott, thanks for the input... Any idea of what kind of wing might have been mounted?
  23. mull posted a post in a topic in Body & Paint
Anyone think these holes belong to the mounts of the wing linked at the end of this post? Or any other Ideas of what these holes are doing on my car... ? Gonna have them welded shut anyway, just curious of their origin...
  24. So how come the 26 is 6-speed and the 25 is 5-speed... ? :surprised
  25. I'm thinking of buying a VH45DE for my 71' 240z... Any issues I should know of?
