I know this is a blast from the past, but I can't read the part numbers from the xenons30.com fiche for these parts. Could someone give me a hand? Rack is from a 72' 240z.
  3. I have one ready to throw out in my trash pile.... Jay
  4. I sold my set off of my 72 to him. $100 in my PayPal account and away they went to get renewed for another Z. I second the opinion that the owner is a heck of a nice guy. Jay

Darrel, For what it is worth, I edited my exchanges with him but, the Dorman guy (Jim) sent me emails pretty regularly. My back and forth with him has 10 emails (5 from me, 5 from him). I would say that if you have not heard anything from them, you should keep pinging them. Jay

Howdy, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my brakes with a kit from Dorman and had the same problem as the OP. I "borrowed" his email and tweaked it a bit: Hello, I recently purchased several Dorman brake components from RockAuto.com via the internet for my 1972 Datsun 240z. Two of my items, Tru-Torque kits; part # D35667, were missing some parts. These calipers require two seals between the caliper halves. They are square-cut O-rings. Both of the kits I received only contain one. I am a member of an online Z-Car forum, and members from AL and CO ordered 2 of the same kits in question around the time I ordered mine. They have noted that their kits were also missing the same piece mine were. From this listing on your website: https://www.dormanproducts.com/cgi-bin/vm91corp30r/item-dtl.w?sid=ViFcbOpjhVklcPdj013165759601666251&item=D35667&icrid=0x00a5ebd0&clt=hwrap1&vsrch_str=&vsrch_brand=&vsrch_cat=&st_amount=&end_amount=&start=&vfrom=&prev=&vnext=&category_list=:0 the members on the forum have noticed that there should, in fact, be two seals per kit (the smallest black O-rings in the center are the ones I am missing). I would like to receive the parts that are missing from my kits directly from you, as I feel that if I order two new kits, they will be missing the pieces, as well. I can provide you with proof of purchase, photos, or anything else you need to verify what I have stated. One of the members, Grant Hollingsworth, has indicated in this discussion thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36846&page=2 that he was sent the correct set of 4 seals. I would like to see if it is possible for the same to be done on my behalf? I use Dorman products exclusively when they are available, and for this task, I have purchased 4 pistons, caliper guide bolts and rebuild kits - All Dorman products. I anticipate your reply to help resolve this problem. Regards, Jay Blair Here is what I got back in about 2 days: Jay, I'll order the kits in and look at them if they're ok I'll send them to you. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for using our products. Jim Squiccimara Dorman Products Asst. Product Manager/Tech Services And about 1 week after that: Jay, I got all your parts. I'm sending you 2 of each part number that was in the kit. Here is your tracking number for UPS 1Z254682039374XXXX Jim Squiccimara Dorman Products Pretty good customer service. Jay

  9. Filipe, Are your wheels like the ones on your Z easy to find in Portugal today? I've coveted a set for quite a while, but generally gave up hope. Thanks, Jay
  10. Guys, I'm in Centerville (South of Dayton) and I have my 72 on a body cart I made similar to Steve's (he's near the gambling boats in Southern Indiana) http://picasaweb.google.com/78zlt1/Datsun/photo#5128820414010825426 Once the car is sitting on the rockers and properly leveled you can start measure, then measure again compare to the 240 crash reference jpg from here: http://www.zclub.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=4318&ppuser=2472 I'm starting a new passenger side firewall (battery box), Zedd floorpans and finishing with Bad Dog rails. After that she goes up on the $200 Harbor Freight Rotis. Jay

  14. Victor, Check out http://www.gimp.org/. GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is a "Photoshop" like package that is FREE. There are Mac OSX, Windows and Linux versions out there. I was a Photoshop guy until I tried GIMP. Everything I can do in Photoshop I can do in GIMP. Jay

I was 15 in 1985 when I got my first, a silver 1975 280z. Held onto it until the upkeep became ($$$) more than a high school kid could afford. I got my second last year, an orange 1972 240z. Funny thing is... I'm still not sure I can afford it. Jay
