I am looking for a couple of parts for my early 70 Vin# 02983 resto project. Looking for NOS or very good condition RH and LH Seal-Cover for the rear hatch hinges. Part numbers from the 240.org ZCar CD-Rom parts fiche are: Item #25 90410-E4104 RH Seal-Cover Item #26 90411-E4101 LH Seal-Cover According to the parts listing, these same part numbers were used up to mid '72. I read your discussions and if you get the 83ZX and don't want the 5 speed, I would be very interested in it. (assuming it is in good shape, etc) I would like to put it in my 70 240z. Am also looking for a 3.90 R-180 to go with the setup. I am in Portland Or so would pay for shipping. Let me know. Galen

To Escanlon and Beandip, Did you guys ever post what Beandip had used on his steering wheel? Escanlon said he had used a fuel proof clear urethane. Where did you get this stuff? On another issue, did you guys ever set up a meeting of the local cars? I am here in Scappoose and would like to get together and look at your Z-cars. While on a tour of the Harley Davidson factory in Pennsylvania, I noticed that they use pecan shells to blast off paint on gas tanks that have defects. And the shells have minimal hardening affects on the metal. Thanks for the tips on applying the wax. Using all new gaskets and hoses, major resto! :)

Thanks for the info on paint and technique. I will have to take a close look to see if I want to run the risk of bending the trim pieces.

Question to 2manyZs, What brand of strut bar do you have? I purchased a bar years ago from Motorsports but it doesn't fit. The tops of the strut tower bracket hits the hood when closing. Anybody else have a recommendation for getting the proper fitting bar?

Hi All, Looking for info or previous experience on the refinishing of the rear finisher panels on a 70 240z. Did you sand blast and paint? Or dip the panels in stripper to clean up? Did you attempt to remove the stainless steel moulding on the taillight cutouts? Are the stainless steel pieces available anymore? What colors of paint did you use to repaint?

Mike your list looks complete. I have a complete set. Even have an extra copy of Vol 4 #14 Zcar & Classic Datsun. I don't have a Fall 95, so don't know it it exists.

I am in the last stages of restoration on 1970 240z. Need to get a new electric antenna. For the time being will use original AM radio. Any suggestions on which model or make to use? Anyone had any experience with the unit sold by Motorsport Auto?
