Differences between 240z and 280z???
Can you put bumpers from a 240z onto a 280?? I really don't like how the 280 bumpers stick waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out, but i prefer the lower profile of the 240z bumpers. Thanks!!

Differences between 240z and 280z???
Right now I am talking strictly in appearance, but what are the differences between the datsun 240z and the datsun 280z. My untrianed rookie eye can only really see a difference in the bumpers. But I am sure that is not the only exterior difference. Please help out the rookie. . Thanks!!

Shock tower rust. Dangerous??
well, this car is now out of my price range, as I was outbid numerous times, so I guess I will have to wait for another z to pop up on ebay. My intentions for the z I hope to get are to restore it, but not necessarily to factory specs, but to build it to my liking. If the seats are bad, I will replace them, but with fabric I like, that kind of thing. Eventually, I plan to do some performance stuff to it, like header, and exhaust, and maybe a set of panasport wheels if I can find them for the right price at the right time. This is basically a way for me and my dad to spend time together, as we do not share any hobbies, I am a car nut, and he is interested in cars, but now is the first time we have had the time and money to get into a project like this.

Shock tower rust. Dangerous??
Actually the car is from texas, i will try to get the pic up, it is almost rust free, just a little bit of surface rust, and a little on the floorboard. But my concern was the rus ton the shock tower. It looks to be a patch about the size of a playing card, not a hole, but definately rust. I was just wondering if and how this rust could effect the structural integrity. I have given up on local cars tho, you are right, they are either to far gone, or they are completed restorations, neither of which I am interested in.

Shock tower rust. Dangerous??
I need a quick answer, as I plan on buying this car about this time tomorrow. It looks really good except for this little bit of rust that has me worried. Could this cause any safety problems, or should it be fine. I plan on patching it up by getting rid of the rust and welding on a piece of sheet metal, but should I steer clear of this car b/c of this rust, or will it be ok?? Thanks!!

New to the Z car scene
Thanks for the kind welcome. Hopefully I will be able to have one of the nicest 240z's in Minnesota, I know there arent a lot of them around here. My brother had a 280zx, so I guess that is where I got the idea, also the video of the supercharged lt1 in a 240 didnt hurt. I plan on doing a restoration, but not necessarily to factory spec, but I plan on "refreshing" it and customizing it to my liking. Don't worry, not big wings or ugly chrome rims, i wont destroy a z like that. I figured that this place was a good source of info, but I am also looking for a basic FAQ site about 240z's or the z cars in general, so if anyone could point me in the right direction of a good site like that I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

New to the Z car scene
well, I just want to say hi to all you guys in the z-car world. I am hopefully gonna find a good project car and become a z-car owner. I was hoping you guys could tell me what the best way to learn about these cars is. I currently have a daily driver honda with some mods on it, and that car is easy to learn about b/c they still make them, but it seems that resources on z-cars are quite a bit harder to come by. Thanks for the help!!

WTB: 240z
I am open minded about color and year. I am a fan of the z cars in general, but the 240z is my preferred body style. I dunno about texas being to far away. Do you have any pics of the one you are selling. I assume you have one close to what I am looking for.

WTB: 240z
I am located in Minnesota, and I am looking for a good restoration project 240z. Rust is ok, as long as it is not to extensive. I am willing to do some engine work, but the car must be driveable. I would like a car that is somewhat close to minnesota, not necessarily local, but I don't want to pay shipping from CA or AZ. Also, my budget is around $3000-$4000. Thanks!
