    I just turned 19 last week, and I own a 240Z which I bought when I was 17.

I drive mine on nice weather days; either to school, work, or wherever. I'd like to drive it more, but playing musical cars with my daily driver and the Z sucks. I'll usually have a week where I'll just drive the Z, and then maybe 3 weeks(or more in the winter) where it sits. I always make sure to start it every week, though.
  3. I own a 1972 240Z, and the speedometer did not work when I first bought it. I ordered a new pinion gear because the nylon cog was worn out on the first one. Well, after only about 350 miles, this one is worn out too and my speedometer does not work. It just abruptly stopped working one morning. Does anyone know what could be causing it to wear out the cogs so fast, and where to buy one? The one I ordered was from Courtesy Nissan, and it took about 2 months to get it, and was pretty expensive to only work for a few hundred miles. Any help is appreciated.
  4. Does anyone know why Martini and Datsun both have the same logo? I first noticed this when watching Rally racing, since Martini sponsers some drivers and it recently caught my attention at work. I work at a restaurant, and the Martini bottle caught my eye since it had almost the same logo as my jacket. Is Martini a Japanese company(hence the red dot like the flag), or is it just a coincidence? Here is the Martini logo. Here is the Datsun logo on my jacket.

Thanks for the help, everyone. My dad and I greased up the plastic ball sockets a while back, and that didn't help. I did a search on the forums, and found other solutions to try. Thanks again!

I have a 1972 240Z, and the gas pedal seems to be too responsive. When you put it in gear and press the gas slightly, it's fine but when you let out the clutch and give it a little bit more gas, it revs to around 3k RPM and above, and that leads to hard takeoffs which aren't the best in city traffic. There is no middle section between giving it a little gas or a lot of gas. Are all Z's like this, or is it just a spring or something that needs replaced? Any help is appreciated, and if I was unclear about anything just let me know. Thanks.
